  1. A bit off topic!! There has been suggestions on other everton forums that "you'll never walk alone" should be played before the game as a sign of respect to the 96 who lost there life and their family's who may finally see justice. What are your views on this? Personally I think it would be a great gesture (can't believe I am saying this)

  2. Chelsea? you are kidding right?

Glasgow Rangers are like... a Red Star Belgrade, CSKA Sofia, Borussia Monchengladbach etc etc, not in the super elite, but a name that any fan will have heard of and consider a large club. They can't help the league they are in (like the aforementioned clubs) but they do have quite a following.

No disrespect to Chelsea, but there's is a relatively recent rise in stature, 10 years ago they weren't on 'the stage' at all. That's not to say that recent fame is bad and old fame is good... just saying that over the course of history, Ranger (and Celtic) leave many clubs in their wake.

As for not doing well in Europe - well no, they don't... they aren't such a good team. Big club, poor team it happens... just like Nottingham Forest were a relatively small club with a fantastic team in their hey day (and conquered Europe)

Rangers is the first serious big name to get into major trouble, but how long (potentially) before it's a Liverpool, United, Everton etc? could happen to any of our clubs.

I can't help but feel until a club truly DOES go under, folks keep thinking there's always a rescue package somewhere. Sooner or later, there won't be.

Still 8 more years than "City" no disrespect like wink.png

  3. Not having seen Barkley play in preseason. Would he work out on the left? A lot of people have been comparing him to a Gerrard type of player and the last time Gerrard played on the left with Baines behind him, Baines was left out to dry which most likely cost him the chance to go to a World Cup. With ossie or Arteta out there, we know they will get back to help Baines but can Barkley do that??

  4. I think weve got a half decent chance of winning this, if we do and the Mancs beat the shite tomoz then were 4 points behind them with a game in hand!

Only 3 pts behind if that happens and Hibbo's gonna score today ;)

  5. Couldn't agree more. While watching the Arsenal v Barca game I was struck mostly by the way both teams approached the game. Attack and defence, they were wholehearted. The midfielders were running at people, upsetting them and making space for others alongside. This is not because they have better players - all teams can play that way if they are coached to do so. My biggest problem with Moyes is that I don't think he knows how to do it! Backpedalling, too afraid to make mistakes, shot-shy footballers don't win games.

The team needs to get out there and shake off the shackles and play free-flowing football (not necassarily 'sexy football').

If Moyes can't do it (and I don't think he can change his mind-set) he should go.

Hellfire, any other manager in the Prem with his record (such as it is) would have gone 2 years ago. Living on borrowed time, I think.

On his way to a 5th place finish, an FA Cup Final and another LMA manager of the year 2 years ago, should have definitely gone

  6. You may say not a real fan but the hope and positivity I had about this squad and performances is now dead I think I am moving from someone who watches everton 5/6 times a season and any television games and gets frustrated and vents on forums to someone who will watch them if there on and looks out for there results.

The failure to build from what we had has now left me in a state of apathy and having no expectation any more. I want to love this club but at the moment I see no passion from the players and I see moyes wheeling out the same excuses I don't think he believes them any more. This position for me is down to the board and their lack of drive and investment to want to drive the club forward. Even if the board cant afford it there is no speculate to accumulate. And I agree don't extinct the club by getting it in debt but how are WBA wolves and stoke able to compete in the transfer market when we are selling everything that isn't nailed down

To me this means that you are just a fair weather fan! A true supporter will follow there team no matter what. Even though you may not like the owners or the management you follow the club always!

  7. Moyes talking about playing Cahill as the main striker tomorrow.

Er, I may be wrong but Cahill has scored his goals playing as an attacking midfielder this season, and he gets those goals because he's difficult for defenders to pick up because he just floats around. So, wouldn't it be just a bit stupid to play him in a position where he would be a lot easier for the defenders to pick up?

    FFS.

if it's true it means that Arteta will be straight back in. Hope we don't fuck this up. Nothing but a win will do
