I find it quite funny that you want a link / report full of Davey Moyse's qoutes to confirm that he wont be signing superstars this season but you follow every shity lazy story linking us to all sorts of players and then bash the club for not signing them....

This guy though isnt going to be our big major signing..... hes a decent player yes but were not crying out for another central midfielder... This fella would be sunderlands Star player...... so they will be willing to pay "star player wages" something he will not be at Everton...... SO to sunderland he may be worth 40-50k a week..... to us he may not.... we wouldnt pay someone 40-50k just to warm the bench...... A bit like what happend with Naughton... The guy was going to keep our bench warm... so no wonder we didnt keep upping our bid to match...

Maybe your having difficulties understanding my replys because you dont seem to understand the concept of "value for money"..... you seem to think that we should throw all sorts of money at someone because someone else does...... If you dont understand my argument im not even going to bother.......

What players do you refer to by the way when you say "But if the market dictates a player is worth £40k per week, we're wasting our time offering £25k as they won't join" & by the way.......how do you know....... I wont even go into the fact that we offer what we think someone is worth...... why go any higher......... If we really really want someone we will offer more... "I recall several "offers" for players lower than what had been accepted by other clubs and then the club coming out and saying "well, we tried"" I remember this hapening in the early 90's but not recently.........

I think this whole thing is absurd and stinks off Gerrard thinking hes Mr Big....... So what your saying is..... lets just give him what he wants..... even if hes walked in and said I want 50k a week..... because thats what Sunderland have offered..... If Moyse thinks hes worth 20k a week he wont go to much higher than that..... If someone wants to come along and throw 50-60k at a player when We think hes worth 20k so be it....... Would you spend £5 on a can a coke when you know quite well its worth about 50p just because your mate wants it more..... Id laugh and leave them too it.... Obviously it all depends on how "desperate" you are...... Are we REALLY that desperate??????

Agree with this.... He has a few years left on his contract..... The world cup is approaching... he will want first team football & if he wants to get a chance of playing in that..... if he hands in a transfer request and we say no.... whats he going to do...... sit in the reserves with a face on???? I doubt it.... Even if he tried to see out his contract... he would be three or four years older and City would have long signed someone by then.... All clubs should growing some huge balls and start saying NO
