  1. I'm not against Kirkby but I think the best thing to do is VOTE NO, then after we look at the Bestway deal weigh it up against Kirkby.

If the Bestway deal is just all talk and a No Go-er then lets go to Kirkby, until we know of this, VOTE NO.

If you vote no to Kirkby then the deal is dead in the water. No means NO and there will be no going back on it.

  2. Non of the players weve got at the moment do i realy want to let go bar beatie and VDM

it would be wiser to keep carsley for midfield options as up front we have could have vaughn anichebe johnson and smith that would be a strike force of 4 quality players. ( if that would be who he would replace beatie and mcfadden with most likley )

but mcfadden is young and non of us know yet what he is capible of realy he has just shown flashes or brilliance all along.

I agree its a good fee for BT but I dont think we can afford to let him go. Vaughn out for 4-6 months Big Vic will be off to the African cup of nations , we havent even bid for smith yet and other clubs will outbid us for him anyway that leaves us with just Johnson.

I think we are already short upfront if we lose BT we will need another 2 forwards

  3. Just because someone doesn't agree with you on the stadium issue doesn't make their comments any less sensible than what you say.

Ok fair enough , its just that in my humble opinion the whole issue is a no brainer. We can either pay £15m for a new stadium now before we lose too much ground on the rest of the Premiership( seems Reading are about the only team left in Prem who wont outbid us) or we could wait 5 or 6 years and pay £150m by wich time we would probably be in the championship

  4. theres too much to read ref the stadium, im just looking at certain threads..if you try to read them all, your head goes into a spin

the way i see it is this, we have to move forward or we risk getting left behind. To be honest, four miles is nothing and kirkby is still part of liverpool (a line on a map doesnt change 100s of years of geographical history).

The investment is there, the stadium plan is in place, the figures have been juggled about and we would be crazy to turn it down. to get a brand new stadium for, potentially, £5million is incredible. Lots of other clubs, see liverpool and pompey for examples. are saddling themselves with debts to build £300million near stadia. what would happen if/when the americans move out of liverpool fc ? the oversea investment bubble will burst one day

people are always going to have strong views on this and once you mind is made up one way or the other, wild horses or nazi style propaganda cant change it

Spot on Hans. We've got a great deal which will mean no ongoing debt. This is the best possible way to attract future investment into the club. The board have been straight re. the wording of the question. Its not been loaded in favour of the move. Will those of you who are against the move then get behind the club if the votes in favour?

How refreshing to read a sensible comment on the stadium move, needless to say I couldnt agree more! :):)

  5. i like mcfadden and i think it would be stupid to sell him he has class it obv from the goal against charlton (and everytime i look at romey av. it makes me think wot a fucking class goal it was) and he aint just a forward he can play midfield as well.

Yes it was aquality goal but I dont think you could honestly say he has class. So far in an Everton shirt I would say he was average at best but I still would be reluctant to see him go because the squad is too small as it is and even if we did identify another player to replace him we would probably get outbid by Accrington Stanley!

  6. I dont think our starting XI are`as bad`as people are making out, in fact I would go as far as to say its pretty decent and just needs the odd tweek ie left back/left mid.

However I am very concernd as to the state of the squad . Seeing as though Moysey admitted the squad was too small last season I am a bit alarmed that we have let Wright Pistone Da Silva and Fernandes go and only brought in two teenage strikers . if the squad was too small last year its even worse ffor next year.

If there isnt a suuden influx of players soon I hope we go out of the UEfa cup in the first round or I fear that our league form will suffer

  7. Have always thought Nugent looked awesome in Championship but he hasn't doesn't much impressing in U21. Think this is possibly why Moyes has not made a move...

As for Defoe, I think we are out priced before even seeing the price tag.

Yeah I agree Spurs are bound to want more than two mars bars for him so thats another player out of our price range!

  8. Has anyone else seen reports that a third part own a stake of Manny and are preventing his move to the premiership...? There is something on the BBC Sport gossip column but not seen anything else on this...

There is a bit in todays Daily Express about it . It just says that he has given up on playing in the Premiership because of the "issues of his third party ownership" pushing the price upto £12 million and so pricing him out of a move

Goes onto say us & Pomoey have now "moved on"

  9. think thats a little unfair mate. young players have got their chance, the ones that havent, who have been sold, i cant think of any who has made the grade back up to prem level

lol While I do think its a little unfair I still think you may be a little wide of the mark as well.

I was just thinking of some of our so called transfer targets ie Joey Barton & Phil Jag for a start!

  10. Problem is that it seems that every club in the Premiership can and will outbid Everton. How are we ever going to get anywhere if we cant even compete with the likes of Wigan & Sunderland

Unless we can find an unknown world beater whose club is prepared to let him go for a packet of crisps and a packet of pork scratchings ( in installments over 5 years) then its seems unlikely that we are going to be doing much business this window

  11. No doubt we will make a "last minute bid" to sign him, a bit like we did with Alan Shearer & Alan Smith ie place

the bid half an hour after he signs for somebody else just so Moysey & Bill can say at least we tried!

Should have snapped him up back in January when the price was £3 mill
