  1. With the current squad including loan sides and no injuries. I have 3 questions?

Who would be you first team and with what formation

    I would go 4-4-2

    Howard

    Neville Jags Lescott Baines

    Osman Arteta Fellani Piernar

    Cahill Yak

With a bench of Rodwell, Hibbert, Jo, Yobo, Gosling, Vaugn Castillo.

Which bring me on to question 2?

Come the summer what would be your transfer policy.

I would sell Anchbie and Saha (Baring in mind we have 4 good stikers including cahill)

I would use the money to keep Jo (although this is based on one game)

I would use any additional transfer funds to buy a high quality left footed winger (I don't know who not downing).

Which bring me to question 3.

With all the current players in the squad retained for next season including castillo. Would you not say we have good strength in depth and the ability to spend all our money on one very good winger.

    Thoughts???

I agree with left winger but we'd need a fair chunk of our budget to buy jo and 'castillo?'. I'd like a fast a fook winger definately - would just offer us something totally different. Won't happen but I'd absoloutely love Nani on loan - quality!

  2. Moyes highlighted we lacked height last season hence we didn't get to see baines much with moyes wanting the extra height from jags, lescott and yobo - moyes addressed this by signing fellaini. I like fellaini, he's looked off the pace at times and we paid over the odds but he's played an important role this season and will continue to do so - he's 21, there's a lot more to come!

I bet other teams would still pay £15m for the chap.

  3. Though he will probably try and charge somone for that as well :D

TBH with Rodwell, Nev, Arteta, Screetch where would he play? Better than nev and younger than nev but his attitude sounds bad, not worth the risk of upsetting the team ethic we have.

What would happen if we signed him then after a season Arse or Chelski come sniffing is he going to be loyal or is he going to do an Anelka?

Fuck it, sign him for £8m sell him for £20m if he proves himself! Wouldn't bother me - i think pompy got a right deal with diarra as did wigan with palacios. Players like arteta, cahill, lescott, jags and rodwell I expect to stay loyal. This chap, if moyes thinks he's got the talent then sign him, moyes will manage him, sell him on, on our terms if he is a class act and wants to go, if he's going to command a move to a champs league team then it would benefit us if he was playing well.

  4. y on earth would u swap yak for bent are you mad

I wouldn't but harry is a big fan and his attitude didn't seem right when he's played this season. Yak usually only stops at a club for a couple of seasons e.g. pompy and boro, it may be time to move on unless he's found the club he's going to stick with? Who knows?

I'm just saying there's logic if that was the thought process of the deal.

  5. I'd leave Stevie where he is . He is working well with Baines there . :)

He's working great with baines but the fact remains pienaar has to cut back onto his right everytime he wants to cross the ball. I'm sure he could form something on the right with hibbo/nev and a natural left footed left winger would be able to get more crosses in without relying on baines' over-lap to get them in every time.

  6. Sorry to reopen this! ...but with richards being touted as part of a toure deal (plus around £15m), would he be a possibily in a lescott deal? Which is a better back 4?

    hibbert...jags...lescott...baines

    richards...jags...yobo...baines

I don't think there's much in it! I know richards has been a bit off this season but he has the potential to be world class (england performances!). It's all talk but £12m plus richards wouldn't be so bad.

Moyes has a nice problem now with jags, lescott and yobo but this would be a solution (if we're desperate for funds?!)

  7. I doubt chelsea would sell mancienne at the moment anyway - it'd be like us selling rodwell. Neither are quite ready to hold down a first team place but the potential there is evident - rodwell has played more for us as we have a little less competition than chelsea! Mancienne is obviously class and wouldn't be a gamble - why would cappello select him? The over-riding factor why we wouldn't replace lescott with mancienne for £4-5m is that chelsea wouldn't sell.

  8. The papers today are reporting a £22 million bid for lescott. I would take it. We have baines and could by Berra (hearts) for £3 mill. that leaves us £19 mill to beef up the squad

If £22m is true, then every player has his price - I love Joleon but that is silly money, saying that I'd only be happy if moyes has players in mind now, £22m without replacement is no good to us now, we may as well hold out til summer but £22m to be spent on a centre back (maybe berra), a striker, a winger, a battler for the middle and maybe a bit of change for the summer, now that would be fine by me.

I know getting a lot of players in jan can be unsettling, but none need to go straight in, we have a ready made replacement in yobo for lescott, we'd just run the risk of being caught short should we not get players in immediately with a couple of injuries.

In a perfect world I'd wish us to have a bit of money to strengthen our team who could push-on and worry the top 4 this season, but we don't and this MAY be too good to turn down.
