  1. Initially I was going to type not for me although I think he's a good player but £3.5m - quality. In this market you'd pay £8m for lesser talents.

My bro would like this one, he was dating an air stewardess years back when jenas was at forest, and she fooked him off for jenas!

  2. It was good to have the loudest man in Goodison park back in the lower gwlady's yesterday! He's not been there all season for whatever reason and I feared we'd lost him, but he made an epic return yesterday. He pisses some people off around me, but I love him, with his chorus of 'Joleon, Joleon, Joleon, Jooooooooo-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!' and 'Arteta, Arteta, Arteta, Arteta, Arteta, Arteta, etc...' He never gets on the players backs so fair play to him.

Anyone else in lower gwlady's know who I'm on about?

  3. This article doesn't actually link him to us as such, it kind of suggests he would be good for us or pompy. I'd be all for this though! He has been linked to most prem teams over the past 4 or 5 seasons though! I remember last time west brom came up my mate was raving about saviola on loan!

  4. Just a word on a couple of the paper stories today...

Newcastle in for free agent Peter Lovenkrands - he's a striker/winger - he'd be worth a punt as a short term measure - he's in our price range!

    also...

Pompy in for £6m Ferandes - although I feel this one is just talk as I think pompy are pretty fooked, I'd still be very disappointed if manny came to any prem team apart from us for £6m. I actually believe Moysie would make BK find money if he was going for this pice. He pissed me off at times last season - attitude etc but there' no denying this kid could be world class.

  5. A lot of people must have got the 'Big Dunc' DVD for christmas (me included!). I didn't vote but having watched that I could imagine many young minds being influenced.

It mentions Gary Lineker not being in top 10 - that doesn't shock me, okay he was shit-hot for us, but only for a season - Big Dunc was good (awesome a times) for us but he wore the badge for a decade - Big Dunc is twice the Goodison legend in comparison.

Also you've got to think about who's voting - I was born in 82' so going since about 89' here's my favourite players (what I've seen):

    Big Nev

    Ward...Watson...Yobo...Hinchcliffe

    Kanchelskis...McCall...Parkinson...Beagrie

    Cahill

    Ferguson

Subs: Martyn, Stubbs, Lescott, Arteta, Limpar, Stuart, Rooney (obviously with a massive pinch of salt!)

Most people who have voted would probably be younger than me so take big nev, watson and mccall out - then big dunc's the obvious choice!

  6. From the Sunday People

Everton are set to launch an £8m bid for Racing Santander striker Mohamed Tchite, 24. David Moyes has seen his attacking options decimated by injury recently and has been forced to play Tim Cahill as an emergency striker.

Meanwhile, Hull boss Phil Brown is ready to make an ambitious move for Sheffield United hit-man James Beattie.

Brown wants to sign the ex-Everton star, who is one of the Championship's most-feared marksmen to help keep the Tigers in the top flight.

The Hull chief thinks Beattie would bring the know-how his attack needs - and could make an offer in the region of £4million.

  7. Transfer rumours from the famous site... (some classics!!!)

The best was the Chinese chippy owner near Goodison who kept saying he was famous and well respected by all around Everton, quoting Leon Osman as a regular 'large sausage and chips man'. I've been going to Goodison for 35 years and I've never heard of him.

So a few comments on Everton.

Michael Owen in – Father played for the club and I'm sure he would welcome the opportunity to be close to his home near Mold. However, he is injury prone and we have enough risk in that area with Saha. 4 out of 10 chance

Mikel Arteta to go – Highly likely, as we need a striker and compromising a player in midfield to fund this makes good sense. He's loved by blues fans, but doesn't score that often. 8 out of 10 chance

Vagna Love in – A maybe, and scoring well in Russia, so a possibility. 7 out of 10 chance

Leighton Baines out – Again quite likely and has been seen at Newcastle's ground. A part ex is the only way Everton could afford Owen, as we could not (or would not) find the £6 mill plus Owens wages. 7 out of 10 chance

Joleon Lescott out – Maybe Joleon's time is up at Everton. Although he's improved recently, he had some shockers earlier in the season. Again, the sale would fuel the funds for that much needed striker with Valente slotting in at left back. 8 out of 10 chance

Summary – Everton are most likely to bring one or two bargains up fro the Championship along with one main established striker (which will soak up the money in from sale of Lescott or Arteta)

Here we are again, in the transfer window, with a manager who has us again on the brink of potential Champion's league football and a board with hardly any money to support him.

    .......................................................

John Carew could also be on his way, possibly to Everton or Spurs

    .....................................................

Not posted on here for a while but nice to see the usual rubbish being posted. Well apart from =V1= who has posted decent rumours over the last few years.

Anyway, now that Man U have secured the services of Tosic, Ferguson is looking too loan out Nani.

Fergie has lost patience with Nani and will look to send him out on loan too Everton. Fergie has offered Moyes the option of taking Nani on loan as they are very good friends. Moyes would love the chance to utilise the services of Nani and offer him more regular 1st team football, fergie is looking to offload Nani and the end of the season and will hope he impresses whilst on loan so Fergie can recoup £17m paid for him.

I have also heard Hargreaves will be sold once his injury problems have been resolved, once again I have heard Everton would have 1st refusal.

    ...................................................................

    On to the rumours:

Everton will be linked with every striker in the world over the next four weeks but will end up signing none of them, if results had been going poorly and performances bad we probably would have made a loan signing or two but with the team playing its best football so far this season there would be no point in making any moves. Mr Moyes is one of the most catious around in the transfer market around so I would be verys surprised if there was any movement in or out.

    .....................................................................

Everton have no money. Loans are our only option, with Pazzini looking the most likely at the minute. Arteta doesn't want to go, and Everton don't need/want to sell him. The only way I can see Everton spending money this transfer window is if, just before the deadline we can't get any loans, and desperately need a striker. In which case Ebanks Blake from Wolves is who we would probably bid on. Though at least 6–8 million to get him, and I doubt Wolves would want to sell him.

    ....................................................................

Everton to sell Arteta to highest bidder then they will except a bid of 15mill for Lescott from Man City. Due to the ridiculous wages on offer he will leave. Everton will replace him with the up and coming mancienne for around 6mill, Artetas replacement could be one of the following, Riquelme, manuel fernandes or jermaine pennant. Everton will also look at bringing in claudio pizzaro if his current loan deal can be terminated.

    ....................................................................

CAM– Mikel Arteta.£10m plus Bendtner. Everton need a striker and money so this will convince David Moyes to sell Arteta.

    .....................................................................

    Everton Ins:

Dos Santos (Tottenham) – loan view to permanent move

    Neville (ManU)

    .......................................................................

and last but the most ridiculous of all...

Everton: There are plenty of moaners saying Everton are skint. Seeing as the mob is usually correct, I'll go with that. It certainly explains the stadium delay. If Moyesey is lucky, and I mean LUCKY, Inter might just let him have Victor Obinna for a bit. Might see Man City bid 20mil for Dan Gosling. What?! It happened with Walcott!

  8. Anyone going to Goodison to watch tv?! I opted out of the 200 odd mile round trip to watch tv at Goodison park (was tempted though).

Think we all agree we should win and majority feel we will, but it's by no means a dead cert. I can see moyes keeping the core of the 1st team in place and giving players like VDM, gosling, nash, rodwell a chance.

If we take them seriously and play proffessionally i reckon 3-0 to us.

  9. There were a few 'cafu' chant's being cooked up in the gwlady's on sunday but nothing took off - just a few giggles. It got me thinking and here's what I came up with...

    'To the ebeneezeer good tune'

    Blue Cafu, blue cafu (tony),

    He's the blue cafu.

    Blue Cafu, blue cafu (tony),

    He's the blue cafu.

    Repeat several times!!!

I was also glad that a few tried the m-m, m-m, m, m , mo - mouranne felliani, felliani, mouranne felliani!!! chant on sunday - refer to when we signed him if you want it's origin.

Let's get these in GP as 'There's only one (insert any name here!)' is shite!

  10. Slow down... we've only really seen fellaini and cahill together in a 4 man mid - let's judge how they play in a 5 man mid - it seemed to work against spurs. We all know cahill plays best in a 5 so should fellaini be the scape-goat when it's 442, why not cahill?

Our mid will prob be ossie...arteta...fellaini...cahill...pienaar for the next few games, in my opinion ossie is the weak link there, put arteta back out on the wing and add a class def mid to the 5, then we've got a very strong midfield with ossie on the bench who we all know is excellent back-up.

Give fellaini and cahill a chance in the 5 and lets also get behind big vic up top as we don't have many other options at the mo. Anichebe's going to miss a few chances but he may be all we have until jan. COYB!!!

...oh yeah just to add, fellaini looked very slow against wigan and we made that cattermole look a good player but when on the ball fellaini still looked one of our (very poor) better players - shite performance apart from howard.

  11. Can't see it happening myself - maybe villa to be reunited with o'neill - but there's not many who hold the ball up better than heskey - he'd complement the jags 'calculated hoof' out-ball!

It's no conicidence that most strikers who play with him all say they like playing with him.

I'd have him but don't think we'll get him.

  12. I think the reason he's not playing is a lot down to the language - with fellaini already not speak a word english, i don't think moyes wants 2 of the boys struggling to communicate - i know castillo didn't come in when momo was suspended but i think the language thing may have some bearing on it because ability wise he looked worth a go.

...before someone posts it 'they should all be able to speak the language of football' - I know someone'll be thinking it, but I've done it now so you can't!

  13. Aston Villa arn't very good? Results and performances would disagree with you there! They are the only team to really be pushing the top 4 this season. They have a good squad, a good manager, a good owner. I never made any comparison between Barry and Gerrard so I don't see why you start bringing that up. Just becasue he isn't a "Gerrard" type it doesn't mean he isn't a good player. You only have to watch Villa play to see how much they have improved. Martin O'Neill is doing good things for english football.

Aston Villa are a very good team but if results go how we would expect them to at weekend (e.g. they lose away to arse, we beat boro), we'll be ahead of them! Bad start - wouldn't look so bad if that was the case!

  14. Anichebe? For one he woulden't be on the pitch and for two where are you playing him? If anywhere he is a striker and nothing more. He needs to be playing in attack should he be on the field, which again is the wrong place for him. He should remain on the bench till January and then we can ship him out to another club. Lower League expected.

Looking for a 2-0 win on first thought - will probably change tomorrow.

He's put him on the right lad, just as moyes has when he's played him for the best part of this season.

Too early to predict teams a week before in my opinion - they got a good win today, we'll hopefully bring them back down to earth next sunday!
