  1. i know, but doesn't mean i haven't been around reading. pretty much everything i tell you, you can check online at the portuguese sports sites. or you could, if you could read portuguese... ;)

But until you do sign him, you can check this and imagine it's him doing it for EFC:

    :D

He obviously enjoyed his last trophy as sporting captain - the next trophy he lifts will be in an everton shirt!!!

  2. Stone Roses - I am the resurection

    Oasis - Slide away

Beautiful South - Old red eyes is back

Ian Brown - Dolphins were monkeys

Libertines - Can't stand me now

    KOL - Fans

    The Jam - That's entertainment

    INXS - Beautiful girl

    Guns N Roses - Patience

Beach Boys - God only knows

10 of the best - the list could go on and on!

  3. So our targets now have changed from moutinho and love to bullard and ljunberg!!! - think moyes is starting to panic after seeing it for real yesterday.

Saying this, I did suggest ljunberg to my bro and mate at the game yesterday on a short term pay-as-you-play deal - they both groaned, I just want numbers rather than playing a 7-2-1 all season (and still defending like retards.)

  4. Anyhoo it's gonna be me cos I've committed the last 72 hours to sitting with my laptop on toggling between Newsnow, TT, Bluekipper, Sporting Life nad the OS! My life has become a sad joke but will continue to do this until Saturday at least :D

I've been doing that but I'm getting pissed off doing the same thing every day and having no luck so I'm backing other horses now! May the races begin!

  5. I'd be upset if I was one of the following and didn't get in:

    Howard

    Nev

    Baines

    Jags

    Yobo

    Lescott

    Valente

    Arteta

    Osman

    Yakubu

These are our 10 remaining fit senior players - add gosling, rodwell and baxter to this lot and that's what moyes has to pick from for the blackburn game!

  6. My reply on 606: "As an Everton fan, I think Lawro's prediction for Everton is pessimistic. Obviously, Everton do need to buy, but remember that last season Cahill and Arteta were missing quite a lot, and Fernandes took time to settle and Everton were still fifth. Cahill, Fernandes and Arteta are raring to go now and some of the younger players will make their mark, particularly Vaughan and Rodwell."

Fernandes doesn't play for us. Cahill's injured.

  7. You obviously don't get what I am saying.

Say if I had a team and we were selling a product and it wasnt going well and morale was low I would say to them "The product ain't selllin well but we've got to keep are heads up and bring new ideas in to improve it"

I am not lying to the team I am trying to improve there morale but in this situation Round is doing both! Which I think is stupid.

You dont have to lie to get morale up.

    So what's he lying about?

It was a really good test for us and our yong lads stood up to it well. - PSV are a champ league team so our young team did stand up well to them.

It was great to get JY and Yak another 90 minutes. - It was.

I thought in the end it was a fair result. - I agree.

We had a lot of chances but they had a lot of possession in the middle of the field. - We had a lot of promise up their end without the end product (chances!) and they did have a lot of possession without really threatening on too many occasions.

The Everton boss has made no secret of his intention to add new faces to his ranks in the weeks ahead. - True.

But in the interim the Blues' young up-and-coming talent has been given a chance to shine. - Correct.

And the likes of Jack Rodwell, Dan Gosling, Jose Baxter and Lukas Jutkiewicz have impressed the coaching staff. - Well Steve Rounds in the position to say if he's impressed.

Our younger players have really given a good account of themselves in pre-season and given the manager selection problems. - We've had 16 year olds throughout the team all pre-season, so this is true.

Phil is calling himself Phil Jack-of-all-trades - he's got great versatility and is a great guy. - A bit cheesey but true.

He has great energy and enthusiasm and is a real presence. - Agree.

Sorry Josh, can't see too many lies here. You keep doing your job so Steve Round can relax that his jobs safe for now.

  8. Rodwell was quality on saturday, I believe he'll have some impact this season.

M'Bami won't be playing sat if we sign him as he's at the olympics, so it's jags or rodwell - unless smith signs and we pop him there? (presuming we play a holding midfielder).

  9. I thought it was an encouraging performance. Rodwell certainly looks ready to contend around the first team - gosling looks bright too. Ossie looked quality as usual on the ball (great first touch!) but light-weight on occassions - baines looked shakey at times but bombed forward willingly.

We've got some good young players coming through - we must remember 5 of our players last night couldn't get into the bar for post-match drinks as they're still 16 or 17 - this against champions league opposition. At no point did PSV totally dominate - we looked the better team for the most part of the game.

Yak looked a little lonely up front but this will be addressed - as will issues in other areas of the pitch and moyes will address these before aug 31st - if the right players are there for the right price he will sell the club to them - the rest is up to them. Until then, we've got 5 very winnable opening games to the season that i'm sure last nights team with a few new faces settling in will get us 10-15 points on the board and a strong start to the season and set us up nicely for our 6th game!

  10. Okay we've not signed anyone but look at the rest of the signings throughout the league - a lot of these are replacements for outgoing players.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/e...rem/7492070.stm

Looking at the probable teams around us - Villa, Pompy, Spurs, Man.City - have their signings made them better than us? Villa stand to lose their captain, Pompy have already lost one of their stars from last season, Spurs have lost their captain and berbatov may follow should man.ure come in for him.

Okay we've lost Cars but I expect a replacement to be found - I'd expect us to improve on him - AJ will be off but he's been hit and miss - can villa, pompy and spurs improve on the players they've lost/ stand to lose?

The only teams who have been dramatically strengthened in my opinion are teams like sunderland, fulham, wigan and the promoted teams - teams that still haven't got the class we have.

I believe Chelsea and The Shite have got stronger - but no-one else stands out.

If Moyes is only trying to get players to push us forward - better than what we have, then we'll be alright, chasing top-4 as usual!
