  1. Bullard called into England squad

Jimmy Bullard has been included in the England squad for the first time for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers away to Andorra and Croatia.

Bullard gets his chance with Steven Gerrard, Owen Hargreaves and Michael Carrick all ruled out by injury.

Newcastle striker Michael Owen has been left out and Portsmouth's Peter Crouch misses out on a place again.

Robert Green and Joleon Lescott return while David Beckham and Theo Walcott stay in Fabio Capello's 23-man party.

Fair play Jimmy - I'd have you here any day!

  2. Hind-sight is fantastic but:

    Howard

    Nev...Jags...Yobo...Lescott

    Ossie...Arteta...Rod...Baines

    Yak...Vaughan

Would have been a lot more solid and a better balance set-up.

Here you go jase - art for ossie then there's your team!

  3. Larsson will be quality. He'll be one of the fitest players in our squad - he's 36 but his fitness is remarkable. If moyes signs him as an impact player on a short term deal then this will be a very shrewd bit of business. Larsson was scoring goals in europe last season and he'll score goals for us if we sign him. He offers a bit of guile that we currently lack up-front.

The way I see it is yak will be up top with saha (when fit) - this will be the first choice. Then we can have vaughan and larsson on the bench - 2 different players with different qualities. We'll have obinna who i think will be used as a winger but he can play up top too if need. Anichebe would benefit from going on a seasons long loan maybe to preston. Then we've got a few youngsters who have been thrown in, should we have a crisis.

Why wouldn't we want larsson - he's still class and in a hell of a lot better condition than our current leading striker - yakubu!

  4. Everton have made a £500,000 bid to bring former Celtic and Manchester United striker Henrik Larsson, 36, to Goodison Park. (Sunday Mirror)

But West Ham have emerged as favourites to sign the Swedish striker for £1m. (News of the World).

if we'd do this why not this...

Michael Owen could be next out of the door at Newcastle as he looks set to reject a new contract at St James' Park that would mean him taking a £1m-a-year pay cut. (Sunday Mirror)

Owen, 29, would be available for as little as £2m as Newcastle hope to cash in now instead of losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season. (Mail on Sunday)

  5. Our back line has to be:

    Howard

    Nev...Jags...Yobo...Lescott

We conceded less than a goal a game in the prem last season with that as our back line for the most part (big thanks to cars obviously!) - these players are fit - they should be playing in these positions!!!

  6. If we had defended like them it would have ended 0-0. If they had defended like us we would have done them 5-3. The result reflects 2 very different defensive displays.

    Hind-sight is fantastic but:

    Howard

    Nev...Jags...Yobo...Lescott

    Ossie...Arteta...Rod...Baines

    Yak...Vaughan

Would have been a lot more solid and a better balance set-up.

or 5-3-2 worked for them today - why not us...

    Howard

    Jags...Yobo...Lescott

    Nev.................Baines

    Art...Rod...Ossie

    Yak...Vaughan

A further point - the moment yak wouldn't give the ball to mikel for peno - it was clear he'd miss it. If you're going to snatch the ball at least smash the bastard into the back of the god damn net DICKHEAD!

Everton are hopeful of further bolstering their attacking options with a loan move for Inter Milan winger Victor Obinna, despite their work permit application having been refused earlier this week.

“There is an appeal on the work permit set for Monday,” said Moyes yesterday. “He was in today for a medical. As far as I am concerned, that deal is done bar the work permit.
