  1. This is some fu#&ed up bullshi^t. Is our entire front office staff mentally unbalanced? I can't remember ever hearing such a ridiculous transfer scenario. At this point I'd be more surprised to hear then entire squad had contracted a flesh eating disease than that we've actually managed to sign anyone. Embarrassing.

surely the club could issue a statement, this is a joke, someone is telling lies,WHO?

  2. lescott wants to go, so lets tell city we want 30 million plus micah richards non-negotiable, you have 24 hours to decide, now put up or shut up lets see how much they really want him,i am also very dissapointed with Lescott we gave him his chance and this is how he repays us

  3. by all accounts the pitch is going to get worse for the batsmen,so if we can get 375,this will be a realy good score, and cannot see us losing from this position, some realy good performances out there to-day,my prediction is we will have won by the end of the fourth day and will win the series 3-1 weather permitting :D

  4. I always believed that a football team should score goals. It doesn't matter if the opposition scores so long as you score more than them. If both teams are free scoring then the entertainment value is higher. A 4 - 3 win is better than a 1 - 0 sort of thing. (You may not agree)

Anyway, just a thought on tactics that you may have a better opinion on.

If the Yak and Saha play up front, could Jo get in behind the front two?

It would mean dropping someone else from midfield though, unless we went with five across the middle of the park.

Anyone got any ideas on this??

at the minute i dont think the midfield is strong enough to play 2 up front, hence this is why we play most games with 1 up front allthough i would prefer the 442 system but to play this way the midfield needs to be very strong, and if we played the way you say i think we would be overun and concede a lot of goals ,just because you play three strikers in the team does not mean you will score lots of goals, you need to build from the back and midfield imo i would also like to win scoring lots of goals, but in the end,any winning score would do :D

  5. Not sure what your point is to be honest .

Regardless of which teams he has played for , he hasn't set the world alight at any of them .

And as for scoring more goals than Pienaar , so has Gosling , Cahill , Fellaini , Osman , Arteta , Lescott , Jo , and Yakubu .

Would you swap Reyes for Pienaar ?

People here didn't want Owen on a free , and yet they would pay £4 mill ( minimum ) for a guy unfit to clean Owens boots by comparison .

For me , this is a waste of good money in the hope that a player can turn it around for Everton , when he couldn't do it for those teams mentioned .

my point is he cannot be as bad as you seem to make out,you seem to be unhappy with every player linked, very negative, so within a sensible price who would make you happy :D:D:D

  6. I can't understand all this enthusiasm towards this guy .

Like I've previously said , just because he is Spanish doesn't make him better , and his goal scoring record is dire .

So what if he is only £4 million .

You can buy a car for £50 , but if it's junk yard scrap , it doesn't matter what name is on the badge .

He has already had a stint in the Prem , with a fantastic Arsenal at the time , and was nothing special , and we're talking about one of the best ever Premiership line ups the game has seen .

What makes you think that after struggling with his career , he will do well with Everton , who are not in the same class as that Arsenal team ?

Take a look at his stats : http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats...236&cc=5739

Why would Madrid have sent him to Benfica if he was any good , and in the same sentence , why would Benfica not want to keep him - IF HE WAS ANY GOOD ?

There are much better ways to spend £4 million , and I'd rather Moyes discovered them .

played for Real madrid, Arsenal Benfica, Spain, yes it does appear he has played for some right junk teams,he has also scored more goals than Pienar,!!

  7. Very strange one. Can't see Owen making that much of an impact on their merchandising at all, and his playing opportunities will be very limited.

Maybe Ferguson just wants someone to talk to about the gee-gees  .

    Don't understand it at all.

i dont, he got rid of Saha because of his injury record ,unlike Fergie to sign someone who is injury prone.is it true though?really cannot see this happening

  8. Go back to my first post!.....You want us to be the team that everybody fears!.....Well I mentioned that teams at present really don't like playing us, so we are getting towards what you want. And I would say that with our BEST team out we CAN beat most teams, and they know it!

You've made a big thing out of the word "Respect".....I used it and stand by the context it was in.

I know you didn't mention Arabs and the things that go with them, but to move forward as fast as you seem to want, might just need a camel or two tied up outside Goodison Park!

Yes I played football as a kid and teenager, I loved playing football for footballs sake, obviously wanted to win, but also to enjoy every game.I like a lot of you, have a cardboard box in the roof with some tacky old wooden and plastic trophies, there's even one acting as a door handle on my sons cupboard door <_< I liked winning, but it wasn't everything to me.

All Everton fans want us to win the next game and the one after that, and if we can do that whilst the football world admires the way we are doing it all the better.

Everton HAVE moved forward in the last few years......staying in the top 6 is a friggin achievement, this year coming 5th and runners up in the cup with our injuries "IS" .........A FRIGGIN MASSIVE STEP!

What a shame we have to question it

agree with you fully. also what about finch farm the envy of a lot of clubs the red shite included. our batch of young ones coming through saving millions now that is progress.respect, tradition, history, that is what makes us a good club, take Chelsea won things recently but if roman throws his toys out were would that leave them, like Leeds we are building a strong foundation and when we win things we will have earned them the right way the Everton way humble in victory, dignified in defeat, RESPECT, TRADITION, HISTORY,thats what this club stands for thats why we are the peoples club i for one am proud of this, and trust me the trophies will come COYB
  9. we moved forward for a few years, but i dont think we have in the last couple of years. i think we have got to a point where we cant move forward without major investment. still happy thou

we have moved forward, we are now an established top six side in europe every year look at the quality of players we have now compared to 5 years ago there is no comparison, also the marketing of the club has moved on enormously,5 years ago we were going nowhere drifting along ,we are gradualy building a sound base on the pitch and off it.dont underestimate how far we have come, there are a lot of teams who envy us .yes we have some way to go but we are not far away, money would help but it does not guarantee success,i for one am full of optimsm COYB

  10. Agreed, but it's an "opening bid" apparently.

We should ask for £25m and not let him go for less than £20m imo, though I'd rather he didn't go at all  .

really hope he does not go,but it seeems city are determined to get him if reports are true. Wouldnt it be great if Lescott made a statement that he will not leave the club and that he is staying loyal to Everton. what a statement that would send out to other clubs about our players unity, or am i asking to much of thhe player?
