Listen up you Moyes worshippers, he has done a decent job here but to say he is swiming against the stream is fucking ridiculous, he picks the players to go on the park, he dictates tactics, he is aware of what each player is capable of and at present he is fucking up big style.................he is not behaving like a man who is worth a one year contract let alone a five year deal worth £17 mil. As for who could replace him, at present there would be a queue a round the corner for half the money and they may well do a better job. Moyes is falling victim to his own publicity, he actually believes you lot who believe he's the bees knees...........................just wait until after the derby. There has been a root change in that bloke, possibly his head is wanting to be as big as his purse, he is not worth that proposed deal

This situation has been brought about by not signing players earlier,remember the squad for the first 3 games, any manager would have struggled the players coming back from injury and the new signings need time to settle in.After all that Moyes has done for us,which for some reason you will not fully recognise just give him a bit of time and get off his back.if all you anti Moyes brigade get your wish and we end up with the likes of big sam,and if we get him cheaper than Moyes in your eyes it will be worth it,i hope you can live with yourselves if this happens COYB

I think this thread is getting a bit venomous now. Moyes record is fantastic with us. He has stabalised a giant club that was in slow decline. We had been courting the relegation zone on and off for years and were saved not by ourselves but on others misfortune on occasion. He has calmly slowed the rot and has now established us as serious challengers in and for europe. He has put the club in a position now that we need to change the way the club is run and funded in order to compete further. His success in trophies has been primarily blilghted by injuries and shocking refereeing decisions. Let's face it, over the last 3 years, we have been pretty much whipping boys when it comes to refereeing howlers. Big decisions, no pens all last season until the last game, Big Duncs disallowed goal against Villareal etc etc. I'm not suggesting that we would definitely have won something, but you couldn't say that we wouldn't have. I find it comical that everyone is baulking about paying the man who has single handedly created and stabalised our club £65K a week, but those same people were probably screaming at the club for not signing x,y or z for £million and probably £40-80K per week. what record would they have had to justify this.

 

Besides, I would be interested to know how much managers that have a 'track record' are on. Scholari, Ferguson, Wenger, i bet you they are on a damn site more than £65k a week. If you think the club shouldn't pay this, then your ambition is stuck with mid table mediocrity. There are some tough choices ahead for our club, but with any business, it has to be brave and stick it's neck out if it wants to be better than it is now. We simply will not get there by cutting corners on the most important position in the club. It would be like having a Formula one car and sticking a mid range Formula Ford driver in the car. False economy.

Read my opener I'm well aware of where he has brought us from but stop and think, EFC is a business based just off Stanley Park who are about to pay a manager who has won nothing substantial more than leaders in British Iindustry, the President of the USA, Prime Minister (no matter what you think of him) and brain surgeons for doing what was logically required in the club he doesn't have shares in. None of these managers are worth the money being demanded and to say no one else could have done what he has done is daft you must remember him being booed off the ground for fucking up and his record so far this season is pathetic. He should earn that money and in my book he hasn't gone close, why not test his loyalty by offering shares in the club as a part of any pay deal. If he did walk out I'm sure Alan Irvine would fill his boots with in hours for a quarter of what he is demanding

Can't fully agree with there SE, yes he does give 100%, Moyes wouldn't have it any other way, but he seems to be two yards slower than he was last year. At Stoke he was hanging on to one of their lads shirts when it was easier to herd the player and ball away from goal, he conceded a dangerous f/k in doing so. I don't see a need to panic but his form has definitely dipped

2 players for me T Cahill he is the perfect box to box player and no-one will agree with me but P Neville for his professionalism, experience,and the way last season he organised the defence he also never gives less than 100% imo very underated for what he did last season

he gives 100% every time he pulls on a shirt, he did nothing wrong sunday,people have short memories,complacent never he needs our support not dropping from the team,he was and still is one of our top players.The reason him,T Howard and the rest of the back four are not looking as secure is the midfield has been weak due to injuries and allthough the kids did well, it was bound to have an impact when we get our strongest team out we will start getting clean sheets, just be patient COYB

I would be interested to know given the choice, if we could only win one of these which one would you really want id go for the uefa cup. What does everyone else think

It does seem a bit far fetched - the presence of a a 16 yr old kid at an Everton friendly means his dad will buy the club.

I dont know he could just be a very generous dad buying his son a big xmas present.its not far fetched i would buy Everton for my son if i had the money!!!

The Echo are saying the issue is Moyes is not happy with the money he is being offered. Just wish he would sign before the Stoke game it would give us all a big lift. Unity is strength.I think it could be good news

I am starting to get a bit fed up now,surely Moyes has had enough time now to sign his contract. It would give the whole club a massive lift,this is creating instability at a time when we need total unity.i think Moyes is probably one of the top 3 managers in the premiership, and i would hate it if he left but we are a massive club there are only man u, arsenal, chelsea, that would be a potential step up for him and there are no vacancies at present,should we be a bit firmer with Moyes it appears to me that it is the tail wagging the dog and im starting to think this isnt right. I love the fact we have a evertonian running our club, but i have only seen us win the FA-Cup in 95. So if it takes a american/russian/arab/indian to invest in our club to make us constantly challenge for honours then i would prefer this. If only we could find a billionaire evertonian.......

Difficult one this, sell to the arabs win things, but lose your true identity,im older i probably still want to see kids coming through Baxter, Rodwell etc they would not have been given a chance at say Chelsea,also i love Cahill and Lescott only Everton took a chance on these players if we hadnt they could still be in the lower leagues which would be a waste also i think these players now have a sense of loyalty and belonging to the club and supporters but then as i say im older ive seen us win titles and cups maybe the younger ones deserve a chance to see us winning trophies interesting topic lookl forward to seeing everyones take on this

Agree with a lot of what jimmy is saying we do need to pull together now starting with Moyes signing a new contract asap that should give us a bit of solidarity we have all got to dig in and get behind the club but we do need to learn lessons from what went on these last couple of months we dont want this all over again in January if we cant afford any big signings then tell us we might not like it but at least our hopes will not be built up all i want is a bit more honesty and the club to be a bit more open about things because no matter what happens i will still go to the game and give my undying support come on moyes get signing COYB

i wondered if anyone else is having problems with the everton website every time we go on it each new topic takes about a minute to load it seems to be while the small video screen to the right is loading alan ball is the topic on the video now this has only started since they changed the website its really annoying this is the only website we have trouble with if anyone can help please let us know or is there something wrong with our computer many thanks tried contacting everton but no response off them yet cheers
