I'll remind you of another bloke who had testicular cancer. Had it near the peak of his career, and then everyone thought he'd be finished. But then he recovered, came back and won the Tour de France 7 years in a row, all the while sticking with the same team (cycling team that is).
That's passion for the sport for ya! Now no disrespect to Alan, but if he's thinking he's as fit as a fiddle, and he's had this clause in his contract for the past four years, what's he got to hide? I just read the article on Teamtalk. Everton spokesperson said that it's the same contract as he had before, just a 1 year extension. AS asked to have the cancer clause removed, and Everton said okay, just go see a specialist to give you the all clear.
But he didn't? Mebbe there's more to the story than what's been spun out in the media on both sides. Why's this coming out now? Why take a swipe at your old club?
