  1. I think we can spend better money and wages on other players and other positions.
  2. I have to admit WBA's finishing was good. Granted they had 1 penalty, but they had 1 good goal from open play, 1 from a corner, and 1 from a give-away back pass. Finishing was the key. When we had similar breaks, we didn't have anyone who could put the ball in the back of the net. I agree with the post match commentary... why don't we go back to the 4-5-1 that served us well last season?
  3. My oh my!... What happened there?! Dubious penalty, WBA keeper should have been sent off for handling outside the area... but other than that... Just not going our way tonight.
  4. Well... he got a run in the reserves... scored as well!
  5. BBC.co.uk say that he's on 80k... I think that's a bit steep
  6. Hmmm... Thwaite is a promising youngster, but with not that much international experience. May do for a sub, but will probably make way for Lucas Neill (Blackburn). I heard the 1st and 2nd choice Uruguyan keepers are injury doubtfuls?
  7. I think Australia have a good chance this time around. I'd disagree wif PatV... this team has a bit more experience and quality than last time we played Uruguay. More European experience, a better coach, and having the 2nd leg at home is a plus.
  8. I say we win 1-0 with a late goal... cross from VDM from the left, and a cracking volley to the top corner by BT
  9. What's the difference between the FA and League cup? Or why is there a difference?
  10. Alright... what's next? Sure we got a bad call, but let's not the ones to dwell on what might have been and moan about it all day/week/month/season. Let's suck it in and stand tall. Mebbe it may be a 'blessing' in disguise, with all the injuries we've had. What's that?... Did I see the "Gaffer" in a SUIT!?

I only managed to catch the second half after Bent's goal. I saw a lot of pumping the ball up forward with hardly any passing or build up from the back to midfield. Was it like that the whole game? Seemed to me that if we keep playing like that, then we'll be doing a lot of chasing all the time, and over a season, fitness will tell.
  12. I'll remind you of another bloke who had testicular cancer. Had it near the peak of his career, and then everyone thought he'd be finished. But then he recovered, came back and won the Tour de France 7 years in a row, all the while sticking with the same team (cycling team that is). That's passion for the sport for ya! Now no disrespect to Alan, but if he's thinking he's as fit as a fiddle, and he's had this clause in his contract for the past four years, what's he got to hide? I just read the article on Teamtalk. Everton spokesperson said that it's the same contract as he had before, just a 1 year extension. AS asked to have the cancer clause removed, and Everton said okay, just go see a specialist to give you the all clear. But he didn't? Mebbe there's more to the story than what's been spun out in the media on both sides. Why's this coming out now? Why take a swipe at your old club?
