  1. Lets just get Ferguson and Suarez to fight instead, winner has the moral high ground
  2. Yes you did. Pad, we are never going to agree so lets just leave it there eh?
  3. I think he will add energy and creativity, he is clever with his passing. He also likes to play the ball forward, all round a Koeman type player. He will be a good signing. Just need a CF now.
  4. I don't remember Duncan biting anyone. Nor do I think he is a saint, he did things I am not proud of, especially the violent incidents, and I criticised him for it at the time. He was a very good old fashioned center forward, he was strong, he was physical but he was not a cage fighter let loose. He played 269 games in the PL and got sent off 8 times, about once a season, and picked up a yellow card every 7 games on average. Facts are a wonderful thing Suarez was constantly trying to get players sent off, niggling fouls, winding players up, and generally being a git. Would I want him at my club, no. Is he a world class player, yes, would I want him here, no. Rather have someone like Shearer, played hard but fair. I wouldn't go calling peoples opinions shite Pad, everyone is entitled to their own and to have them respected. I respect yours, if I didn't I would have a field day with some of the manure you inflicted on us.....
  5. No, that's not the reason I or other fans think he is a legend. I think Ferguson is a legend for the spirit he had, for being the leading light in a poor team, for helping save us from relegation, and for hid efforts after he retired and the work he does in the community.
  6. Suarez has bitten more people than Dracula. He is also a cheat in that he deliberately tries to get people sent off, and generally plays the game in a way I don't want Everton to be associated with. Maradons, his reputation is in the trash, he is remembered for the "Hand of God", not the fantastic other goals he scored. Lance Armstrong, everybody knew he was a dope cheat, yet teams hired him and now he is known as one of the greatest drug cheats of all time. England Cricket Body- Line team of the 30's, won the test series but nobody remembers that, just the fact that they went past a line that sports people should not cross. I don't want players with the win at any cost mentality at the club, I just want winners.
  7. I'm a little older but I don't really remember the glory team of the 80's. Just my opinion but its easier to be a hero in a team of grates. It's harder when to be one when the team is struggling. Watson and Neville are heroes to me (although my main memory of Big Nev is him having a sulk at half time and staying sat in his goal). For me Ferguson, and Cahill, are my heroes, honorable mentions to Arteta and Unsworth, but its a matter of personal choice and I respect yours and others. I agree with you, we have had some of the greats play for us, and should aspire to those standards now. I love us being the "School of Science" and I want us to be that again, to win titles and cups. Under Koeman and Moshiri I believe we are on the way back to that. NSNO
  8. What do you want the club to be known for? And yes we all want the club to be known as winners! Nottingham Forrest, Arsenal, and UTD in the 90's to early 2000 won the league playing good football and were not dirty bastards, that side is generally respected in football. The Shite, Stoke, Chelsea are known for having dirty players and are known as dirt sides. I know which camp I want Everton to be in.
  9. If you think 35 goals in 107 games is poor then there must be very few strikers you rate Also the headline goal stats don't take into account the number of goals he helped create, or his contribution to the team. He never became the player he could as he was sold to Newcastle, and suffered from serious injuries. Great and master are also two words I did not use to describe Duncan. I guess its a generational thing, to me he is a Legend because he was the player that I saw epitomise what it was to play for Everton, he was a leader. For you its clear your heroes are from a different time. Not being precious, just correcting what I perceive to be an error in your assessment of Duncan. And thanks, I will have my own opinion, just like you have yours
  10. Wish I had been. I think Dunc is the one player I would hate to go up against if I was a defender. He was certainly a master of the center forward arts lol.
  11. He was no Ginola or Gascoigne I grant you, but he was a great header of the ball (first player in the prem to score hatrick of headers) and great traditional center forward, strength, ability to lead the line and bring players into a game with his physical presence. I agree tho that his legend status is due to what he epitomised, spirit, hard work and love for the club.
  12. In his first spell at Everton he scored 35 goals in 107 appearances, in a struggling team. On his day he was unplayable, his strength, aggression, ability to motivate others and his skill made him a very good striker. His second spell was ruined by injuries. He was a quality player for us and has become an Everton Legend, so maybe pick another player to make your point.
  13. A good signing for us 3 or 4 years ago but not at the level we need now.
  14. He is not a left or right back, he plays across the top 3 or center forward.
  15. Yeah averages a goal and an assist every 6 games, great player to have in your team, if your West Ham or Stoke! For Everton, not so much.
  16. Depends how bad the injury is, if he has had surgery and its healing then it would not necessarily prevent the deal going ahead.
  17. Good man, have a virtual hug from me!
  18. Center Back needed, unless we are going to let one of the youngsters play or Martina can cover there?
  19. He created more chances than other U23 player in Europes top 5 leagues. That is good enough for us! I think 1 of two things has happend: 1) With his alleged demand to Spurs I am more convinced that he is playing hardball with Everton, this is what I want, this is what I told Spurs I want, now match it Everton. Whether its him or his adviser I don't know. 2) He has had a major fall out with Koeman, just doesn't get on with him or cant get the assurances about game time he needs. My gut feeling is that he does not want to leave, his family and friends are here, he is a Everton Fan. This is just hardball negotiating.
