    ----------Arteta--Fellaini-------

    --Robinho------------------Pienaar--

    -------------Adebayor--------------

De Jong for Kompany and Pienaar for Tevez in the subs. Pienaar has a better first touch and vision with Baines, they're work rate is equal, and Pienaar is a slightly better crosser.

btw formation isn't meant to be that narrow.

  2. Wow 2 for Jo. Can't wait to see the highlights. I'll be emailing EFC to ask if the river plate game is copyrighted (its in Argentina so here's hoping it aint.)

    Thanks for the news grarghies

  3. Yeah I should whine about that. I mean I figured that if I got the bury live commentary and its highlight video, I was set. It ain't as if Everton currently took on Barcelona or something, in establishment with another league.

For example, I could understand if the MLS game is copyrighted.

  4. Nice job boys.

Out of curiosity, I wanna know though, why can I view the 20 minute highlight video which will follow if it is 'copyrighted'?

Is it just a scam to keep bandwidth clean?

P.S: after using a proxy, it just says 'ready'. hahahahah. Suppose i'll have to wait for the highlights. But I'm still going to send an email regarding the copywright especially since I can get the 20 - 40 min highlight videos from last pre season.

  5. Mikel Arteta is still quality on the right, granted he has a quick full back behind him. Many people here bum chum saying David Bentley would be ideal for our wing, but IMO anything he can offer, Mikel can better.

If Baines was right footed and he was flaring past Arteta down the right, we'd get quality Arteta crosses from deep and in line, and through balls to Baines on the overlap. Furthermore, with a speedy fullback, I'd feel content with Arteta dropping back temporally to cover the out of position joinee. - More so than Osman. :/

    ---------Arteta

    ---------Hibbert

    or

    --------Arteta

    --------P. Neville

does not work. It is too slow, and the Arteta/Osman must cut in or resort to hoofballs. With someone like Kyle Naughton, we'd be much more secure. The right side needs pace.

  6. I felt so good when David Unsworth answered my question in the commentary, which was:

Do you guys reckon that Jo will start the season amazingly, to an extent of possibly taking Yakubu's place? Similar to how Jagielka kept Yobo out of the team when he returned from injury?

I'll add this food for thought in here because we all know... Yak won't start the first few games. No way will Moyes play him, and I'm glad he will. If we play 4-5-1, Moyes would have Jo, Vaughan and Saha to pick from. It doesn't just go for Jo, it goes for all three of them. I mean what if Vaughan scores 4 against Arsenal? Won't happen, but you never know. Yakubu could possibly be sitting on the bench when he arrives, granted one of them make the forward position there's.

At least now we can ask a 'which striker should start out of these classy fellas?', instead of a 'oh shit no moar strikers will it be Jutkiewicz or Cahill?'

    - And for that last line, a classy striker joining on top of a bunch of other classy strikers, you would have to be moronic to think this is a daft signing.

    Welcome Jo Alves

  7. If we don't get a winger, we need a pacy right back. If Arteta is reverting to the right, we need someone who can flare past him. Hibbert and Arteta/Osman is just yuck and is horrible in contrast to the left side.

I don't feel safe in putting Pienaar on the right either, replacing the left with a natural left footer. I think Pienaar has that extra bit of creativity which allows him and Baines to link up uniquely. Pienaar may be right footed, but he plays the through balls to Baines with his right foot, and I think Baines on his day has the most deadly cross as they come. Hard, quick, straight onto a head.

For example, I don't think putting someone like Joe Ledley on the left would equal the Pienaar/Baines combo. Pienaar likes creative first touch football while Ledley is more of a traditional "run and cross" kind of dude.

I'd like (sorry about the uneven formatting lol)

    -----------------Howard

    --Naughton--Yobo-----Lescott--Baines--

    --Arteta---Neville--Fellaini--Pienaar--

    -----------------Cahill

    ----------------------------Jo

The right side wouldn't be bogged anymore, and Arteta could play deep balls with Naughton or 'insert pacy right back here' going forward. Furthermore I feel safer with Arteta dropping back rather than Osman, and Neville would play the defensive role out of himself and Fellaini anyway. So if Naughton got an inch out of position I still think we'd be safe.

And I put Jo before Yakubu because he may not be fit.

  8. Yay I'm a happy man. Moe Joe believes in Jo. B)

But still it isn't 100 'percent' confirmed, but if he's training, you gotta be positive.

I wonder what position our '$$$' signing will be though. It may be DMC or Winger, it depends on whether or not Moyes wants Arteta on the right. Its interesting but as stated, we now know our main signing won't be a striker.
