  1. Football is catching up all over the world. No namers like Mphela constantly step up and beat 'world class' GKs like Casillas with stunning free kicks.

Don't doubt the group or the teams. Australia's group isn't a push over. They go to shitty 5000 capacity stadiums in Qatar and have to play defensively as these teams are super kamikaze, especially Japan, who on their day, are definately not a push over.

Doubt the ratings though, indeed.

  2. Yeah, his attitude stinks. If we get him, if he doesn't play well, it would be like 'what the fuck was all that trouble for?'

    I don't want that happening.

Hell he has only had 12 caps for Cameroon. Like I know Mikel has never been capped for Spain - but that's fucking Spain.

Then again, he plays the role of the enforcer. Uses his strength and will protect the back 4. Moyes would probably play him deep. That alone is good. With Jagielka out we need all the cover we can get, but that doesn't fix Osman and Tony running down the line.

So why all this trouble for this guy?

  3. I rate them equally.

They both use their bodies to they're advantage.

Anichebe uses his chubby little build to run at people - it doesn't work though. If, and if, he is playing a team like West Brom and can grab a 1 on 1, he'll miss every time.

Lanky Jo isn't strong, but he'll hold up the ball and if he is out muscled, will win us a free kick. In 1 on 1's, Jo has something Anichebe doesn't, and that's a natural left foot.

Anichebe would be more suited to Rugby IMO.

  4. Not really sure if your math is correct there :).

Lol no it wasn't. I'll rephrase.

America is always producing Michael Jordan's, Kobe Bryant etc type people who, from the age of five, can truly choose any sport they want. My point is, with Football being so small over there, the true football fans (kids) have to fly overseas to even dream of making it. So they end up saying meh, and stick to Basketball or Gridiron.

  5. We have moved forward, but to an extent, we aren't rewarded for it. For example, Australian commentators believe that Tim Cahill should be playing at a higher club. Players like Mbia are bossed by Eto into 'not' moving to Everton, like players like Moutinho see Everton as a needy club and keep the rumours flowing until Arsenal or whatever come along.

We know we're becoming a big club, but we're still seen as the Everton of 3 years ago, at least to the neutral fan.

But fuck em, we're progressing and we know it.

  6. We already have a 'power' player. Marouane Fellaini - our 16 million dollar man.

In my opinion, we need back up squad players.

A right back. Naughton, if nurtured, would be great as he's pacy.

A left footed midfielder. Joe Ledley. He's a technical player, not pacy, but will knock in good balls from the left. With Baines behind him, his speed will definately not be a liability and we should get some good service.

Pienaar can smash in some beautiful crosses from the right hand side. I have seen him play in the confederations cup twice now, and he bosses that right hand side and will not stop running. Will also never stop being creative. Heck, we could probably keep Hibbert if Pienaar remained on the right hand side.

And probably another CM for when Neville becomes too old. Joao Moutinho because he's sexy.

Really, we don't need to go overboard; our squad is great.

  7. I think Gosling will be shaped into a player like Cahill.

Not fast, not the most technically gifted player, but a threat in the box. See Man City game, Liverpool game, and the game where he hit the post with the finesse bouncing shot.
