how the hell did sunderland beat us to this one? seriously I'm beginning to wonder who Moyes is actually pursuing, it seems like every player we are linked with gets snatched up as soon as the rumour gains some steam. Can Bill really not get the funds to compete with Sunderland?

Why not? I mean we had a semi in the league cup in 07-08, a final in the FA in 08-09 and now in 09-10? Will we win one, two, sh*t all four? (a guy can dream right?) Which trophy would mean the most to you? (Yes, there is a right answer, choose wisely as there is a legion of Mogwai waiting to be released upon those who answer incorrectly).

About the striker situation...Yak is the highest scoring African in the Prem. So I think, when all are fully fit, our strike force this next year is just as potent as Arsenal and even Chelsea and certainly better than Citeh. In the middle third, we hold our weight. And as I'm sure everyone would agree, we need more depth in terms of pace and creativity. I think we saw glimpses of creative potential in Peanut late in the term...who knows if it'll come around any more once Mikel is back. As for pace...well let's quit screwing around and give Usain Bolt a ball and sign him up (doubt anyone in the prem could keep up down the wing!!!). I don't even think Arry Kidnapper could get in the way of that deal. We need two more midfielders to break top 4...creative CM and a lighting (BOLT) fast RM. In defence, we're as strong as anyone. I would put our defense up against Manure's any day. If we manage to seal the now unlikely Naughton deal, we'll even be set for a few more years. Again 2 defenders for depth (and a good Europe run's) sake and we'll be set. So yeah, we're like the new and improved Arsenal without the god awful yellow shirts.

It's okay. Benitez is going to be on the way out this season anyways. He's played the damn mind games too much this summer. That always means bad form for the squad. Case in point...January, Rafa tried to f**k with Fergie, and went on to draw some absurd number of games (I wanna say 6 of nine and a loss). He'll keep playing the games with whoever he thinks his squad is better than. Clearly in January he thought to take the fight to Manure, thinking it would help his squad best the devil(s): Manure won. Now it seems he wants to "toy" with DM, perhaps we'll get the same good fortune of Benitez' rants and slip into 3rd early on.

I wasn't disagreeing. See, there's this thing called wit, perhaps you've heard of it. Fox News = unreliable propaganda machine. Blue Kipper (or most other rumour mill sites) = unreliable spray outlets. Not only was I agreeing that Blue Kipper (and most others) are very unreliable sources, I was poking fun at how, Fox News is even more unreliable. I thought it was quite clear, but some people need everything laid out I suppose.

Anyone still grasping at the last sliver of hope like I am? I think Moyes may rediscover his interest in Joao if the Defour deal doesn't pan out. We really need a player like Moutinho/Defour if we are going to have any shot at making a run in Europe.

About Kirkby, anyone read anything about how the whole bit is going along? Don't get much news about it in the states.

yeah I would. no need for the trillionaire football interest to detract from his medical funding. And besides I happen to think Jo will do fantastically this year if he's paired with Saha (also hoping that Saha stays fit). I can't really see Jo and Yak meshing well, but who knows, Moyes tends to be right where I am wrong. Also, why the hell hasn't this supposed multi-trillionaire invented a time machine so we can snatch up Maradona, Pele and the Kaiser? Mustn't be too bright that one.

10 days in and Moyes has signed Peterlin...amazing. Moyes needs to act faster, the board needs to give him his money for the summer now, otherwise all our targets (those realistic and unrealistic) will be off to other clubs.
