  1. Neville is on the IR with about 10 other blues. One thing that is a positive, cross our fingers, is that Saha is still healthy and looking great.
  2. I agree that Ossie isnt a first teamer when were healthy, but being a true blue I will never say anything bad about him. He works hard and that goes a long ways for me. Yes, you do need some skill which he has, but working your a** off will always get you praise after a match. Pineaar is dirty. That's all. Billy and Pineaar streaking down the flanks is going to make outside wings and backs go insane
  3. It's a great day for me when the USA wins. USA gets a victory and so does Timmy.
  4. I'm glad to see Lucas getting minutes. He will be a very effective tool this year. Where did Heitinga play for Holland? Right Back?
  5. We are a team that is great at adjusting and coping. If we did lose our only real specialist LB in Baines I know we wouldn't miss too much of a step with replacing him as I know whoever takes his spot is going to be smart and give everything on the pitch. We may not be the most skilled players, but we work hard and have the heart to play there.
  6. When healthy I feel like we can have depth all throughout the back. I feel like Gosling, Hibbo, Yobo, Heitinga can all play right back, Heitinga, Distin, Jags, Yobo can all play centre back, and Baines, Hibbo, Heitinga, Yobo I feel could all play left. I am not too worried about our back four as long as we don't have a lot of injuries back there, but as we have seen before Neville can play back there too. Our team is pretty good at adjusting to new situations that usually come with injuries.
  7. Blue 250 the only reason I would come to England would be for Everton. No offense to England or anywhere else. That would be the main reason for coming across the pond. My buddy and I were talking about coming over and just getting drunk off "real beer" and having the time of our lives at the game. I am the diehard superfan for our college team here and travel across the U.S. when it comes time to national tourney time. I would love to see the atmosphere of a prem game.
  8. When we get healthy in the back line, get Yobo back and especially Jags, is Hibbo going to be the lone man left out, with Baines on the left, Jags and Yobo in the middle, and Heitinga on the right? Hibbo is playing great right now, but I don't think he is good enough to start when were healthy.
  9. My dream is to make it to an Everton game at good ole Goodison, or hopefully a very nice new stadium soon. I know our Everton family would surely show me a great time in England and introduce me to the best day of my life. I can't even imagine the atmosphere of drinking pints in a pub and then going to a game.
  10. I'm really not a big fan of the kit. I am one of the few who seems to love the new away kits of pink and black. The purple is cool since that is our college colors, but I am getting the pink and black and not this one. I would say that the idea of them is great and that it would be sweet if Liverpool had a jersey for charity also and they were both worn for the derby match. COYB
  11. I agree that Neville aids the back four better than Jack does, but I think this whole lineup change depends on the team and style were playing. Jack is better at going forward and being offensive when needed, yet he can still be a holding midfielder. Jack can score goals where Neville is a far shot for that. Neville is the veteran with experience though. It will be interesting to see how Moyes handles this situation in big games. I love that were debtating this because this means we finally have depth for the first time in a few seasons
  12. MikeO I appreciate it very much. There is only one other kid here at my college that is an everton fan and obviously we are best friends and watch all the games and stay up to date on news. It does take a lot to be an Everton fan and you really have to be committed to the team. My soccer team here has been to the final four the past two years so everyone is big on soccer, but most people like the top prem teams, with a few backing other big clubs, but none, and I mean none are fans of teams like Everton or anyone else. I am glad to be a Toffee and will always back my team no matter what
  13. I agree with jamie. Neville is a great presense but not a starter when were healthy. Felli could take the place of one of them. I havent quite figured out where Billy will fit best. He serves up dirty balls from the wings, but could see him scoring goals in the middle. I think Cahill is looking forward to Mikel coming back the most.
  14. I really hope Saha can stay healthy for once, along with every other Toffee, because he is an amazing player as we are seeing this year when he is healthy. Jo and Yak are the next two strikers behind Saha. Vaughn, too many knee problems as we see once again with him, and Vic we will have to see when he is healthy. I think that Jo does his best work when he has someone to work with. This does not necessarily have to be Saha or Yak up top with him, but could be Cahill, Felli, or Billy at a removed strikers role filling in behind Jo. He just needs that other mate to link up with as I do not see him being the greatest at attacking all alone, which we have done in the past with him. It is still early and maybe he can get himself going.
  15. Rough go for this lad. Recurring knee injuries are devestating to the physchie of a player. Hope he can find the strength to overcome. Good luck James
  16. Hey Toffee's, I am new to Toffeetalk and glad my buddy let me know about it. I am a die-hard Everton fan. I am a college student in Iowa and go to a school where soccer is king and all my best friends are the players on the team. Rodwell is my favorite player, but I have no hatred for anyone on Everton. I really love what Moyes is doing and am obessed with our new away uni's. I am getting one asap. Glad to meet you all. GO TOFFEE'S
  17. agree. I'll let the little blue toffee man chose my saying. I don't like cheating.
  18. That makes sense tenaciousj since I just joined. So the title is fitting. Sorry women.
  19. Thanks Tenaciousj. I did not even recognize that. Toffee Lady....hmmm? Don't think it's too fitting, but who knows. I also agree though that we have to get all the points in games like Stoke, Burnley, and even the likes of Fulham if we want to even have a chance for a top four finish. Keep fighting toffee's. We shall overcome one of these days
  20. I agree with what Fred Geary said. Pineaar still sounds to be struggling a little bit with the injury. While a win against the Wolves is a must need, I do not believe we need Pineaar to win this game. We are having great play from a lot of guys so I expect Moyes only to play Pineaar if he is pretty close to 100%. Either way I'll trust Moyes as he tends to make great decisions.
  21. I have been playing with an updated roster of fifa 09 as it is not out in the states yet, but Billy is not on it. The pics were not the best, but they are better than reccent years. Baines, however I thought was Gosling which no one else thought. I can beat any team on FIFA 09 with Everton and online as I play a lot of FIFA so I'm looking for great things in FIFA 10. Anyone wanna play hit me up with your gamertag or add me StrikeForce1109
  22. I was really happy when Everton got Jo last year and then again this summer. Although he hasn't been playing so well for us Toffee's thus far this year I'm really thinking he can provide us with great force off the bench. I also don't want to write him off because of the great luck we seem to have with injuries. Yak was down all last year, Saha has a history of injuries, Vic is still getting healthy, so we need Jo there to fit into any role we need him too. However, I do not agree with you on the idea that Vic is better than Jo. I would start Jo any day of the week over Vic, but we will just have to see what happens this year when we get healthy. COYB
