  1. How on earth is this happening... Jesus Christ. We start really well, we put them on the back foot and then one stupid fucking mistake and its a goal. Unbelievable.
  2. But his role is too push up to allow a pass out from midfield, like the RB does every week. If we dont lose the ball between Baines/Barry we dont concede, simple as that.
  3. If Barry turns to his right instead of playing the ball back to Baines, Stones is in space for the pass as he is meant to be.
  4. I think its more that we are getting caught on the break (3rd goal aside). Just looking at the 2nd goal, Barry plays a silly ball into Baines who miscontrols it. I think its harsh to blame Stones for that one, because we were in possession and in a good area before we turned the ball over.
  5. Well that was not good at all... We didn't play badly for large parts, we just got exposed for some pretty poor decision making and more disappointingly its from players who should know much better. Liverpool have been clinical and they have done what we couldn't do in the first game. Pienaar is frustrating the hell out of me but at least when he isnt giving the ball away he has find space to get us moving up the pitch and getting some possession. Baines needs to really step up as well as he has been too quiet. Mirallas is doing well though and on another day he could have scored at least one by now. We need to get out there, get an early goal and start putting them on the back foot instead of the other way round.
  6. Need to show some character now if nothing else... Get a goal before half time and we are back in it.
  7. Oh FFS... No idea what Jags or Alcaraz are doing there.
  8. Thought we actually responded pretty well with our best chances and just got caught on the counter.
  9. Lose the ball in a dangerous area and its 2-0.
  10. Alcaraz has done nothing wrong, been very good IMO. Pienaar on the other hand is well off the pace too.
  11. Very close there... all started by good high pressing! More of the same please!
  12. C'mon Naismith, play like you did at the weekend!
  13. Yeh its disgraceful... Idiots!
  14. Gareth Barry I think you will find. Been really poor so far, not with the tempo.
  15. Big big boost for us, but I do hope they are all fit enough. Patchy bench but Naismith did really well the other night up front, Osman will more than likely replace Barkley near the end and McGeady can come in for Pienaar when he tires.
  16. Yeh they will and it might tell in the end but I dont think we are that weak. I suspect Jags will be fine (based on nothing factual btw!) and Im hoping one of Distin or Alcaraz will be able to pull through and be fit enough for the game. If one of them is, Im sure Stones/Hibbert will be able to hold their own at RB in Coleman's absence. We have Barry and McCarthy fit, along with Mirallas & Lukaku which are all vitally important. We really need Pienaar in at LM and if we could get Deulofeu/Traore on the bench it will be a morale booster for the squad and fans. Barkley looks like he will miss out which is gutting but I think that one of Naismith or Osman could fill that void as both will step up for such a big game. Lots of ifs and buts I know but I still think we will put up a good show and cause them problems know matter which team we put on. Worse teams have beaten Liverpool before.
  17. I think Shukes nails it on head. I have seen some of the reserve games too (admittedly not much) but I have never really noticed him. I think he looks handy enough and when our main strikers werent contributing and he was full of confidence a couple of seasons back he should have been given more of a chance but despite a lot of the shit people on here are spouting about Lukaku there is no way in the world I would put him on in his place. These are different times and even when our main strikers arent playing at their best this season (Jela, Lukaku or even Mirallas) they still would appear to offer more than Vellios who also doesnt appear to be at his best either.
  18. Neither team are going to be near full strength and I think both teams will create enough good opportunities to win the game and it will be a case of who takes them wins. If its half as good of a game as last time we are in for a treat win, lose or draw.
  19. Haf, dont let logic get in the way of having a pop at the Moyes bashers! You should know better by now!
  20. I was actually impressed by Colback against Utd. Really good energy, surprisingly composed and he actually played some quite cultured passes. He looked like he would suit our style.
  21. My mistake it was Blue that mentioned Heitinga. Most players we look at signing in this window are going to need some time for adaption unless they play in England already and I dont think there are any real targets over here, added to the fact that they would probably cost more than normal. Its not like we dont have options up front with Mirallas and Naismith so the need to replace Kone is less than before. I still think we do need a body in midfield and hopefully someone will become available but if the targets we want arent in the market in this window then what can we do. Its not like he has promised replacements, im sure he wants bodies in as much as anyone.
  22. Starting 11 looks OK and more importantly so does the pitch. Mirallas will be up front, probably with Naismith so we will ideally need to keep the ball moving. Nice to see McAleny on the bench as I knew from twitter that he was recovering pretty well but surprised to see him back so soon. I think it may be a motivation tool rather than a serious chance of playing given the other two are also on the bench. The players need to dig deep and get us over the line. If we want it enough, we have more than enough quality to win. COYBS!
  23. I certainly don't think we have been weakened in this window. Jelavic was playing next to know part other than a bench warmer and if that is all Traore fills then we aren't any weaker. You don't know what impact he will make to the team as he might fit straight in or he might struggle. The other players that he has signed have slotted in well so I don't see why Traore would be the odd one out. Even if we sold Heitinga now its not a loss to the team and despite the rumours still nothing has happened. McGeady has come in and whilst I have my skepticism of how it will work out he does bring an extra quality to the squad. I'm sure Martinez was looking to replace Kone and Gibson but if the players aren't available then what do you want him to do. He has always said that he would waste his money in this window as well and I hope he doesn't. I'm not entirely sure but he gave the Kone/Gibson sound bite a while before the window opened and for all we know he may not think we need their cover any longer either through players ready to step up or the two returning from injury sooner than expected. If we can get through these next couple of weeks and the injured players start coming back I think we will be in good shape to finish the season with a rattle.
  24. He probably means that we wont expect him to make a full impact until the last 10 games of the season due to the fact he will have to adapt and get used to the team/league as well as recover from his injury, in the same way that Deulofeu didnt start making an impact until we were a few games in. I think that bringing his pace and skill on at the end of the game could end up being really important for us, especially when we are protecting a slender lead.
  25. He was awful against United. Haven't seen him in any other games though.
