  1. Can you qualify your best captain in the game comment? A captain to me is a leader on the pitch, an example being Dave Watson. Someone who leads by example, taking the game by the scruff of the neck and pushing the team. Neville is none of these, he is constantly 1 of the worst on the pitch for our team in terms of skill and what influence he brings to the result. Possibly 1 of the worst club captains ever in the history of Everton Football CluB

I hate to say it but when you start describing what a great Captain is all I could think about was Gerard, how many times has he done just the above when they've been on their arse in games.

  2.

Anyone know the clubs policy on refunds because I doubt I wil be able to go midweek with work the next day?

All it says on the official site its that the tickets are valid for the rearranged game

I got a refund for the Birmingham game that got called off around Xmas last year. I called the club and told them I was moving to Malaysia and wouldn't be able to make the the fixture. They gave me a FULL refund.

    Canna fault them for that.

  3. I think a one year deal is a way of saying "we're not 100% sure about you".

Agree, but if he's got any minerals he will see as that way himself and work harder. I'd love to see Baxter make it with Everton. I've got him on Twitter and he strikes me as a decent young lad. On the pitch I haven't seen enough of him. Maybe that will change this year.

  4. You wouldn't even been considering him if Stoke wouldn't have bagged in on a free mate. My boss is a West Ham fan, he couldn't speak with more negativity bout the Upson.

However, there are other free signings I'm a bit frustrated at us not even taking a look at (as far I'm aware anyway). What about the likes of Carew, Sebastian Larsson, Johan Elmander, or Hitzlsperger?

  5. We need Guye, Barkley and Vel, Val, Vellio, Vallio, fuck it, the Greek lad to come real good. I'm talking about in the shape of the iconic 90's "You'll never win anything with Kids", Man Utd good.

If not, then like someone said above, keep out of administration & keep Moyes.

  6. Everton will outlast all my birthdays, marriages, births and bereavements. It will outlast all my friendships. It is one of the few constants I will take to my grave. I don’t say that in a ‘Everton till I die’ way, either. Why a football club arouses such devotion and loyalty (you’re far more likely to leave your partner than your team), is beyond me. Perhaps it’s the association with one’s childhood. Like a lot of things, I feel I should have grown out of it. But I haven't. Damned club.

    Nail. Head.

It's a family thing, something I share with my Dad and one of the only things he had in common with his. Its the memories Goodison holds for me as a Kid, Z Cars, Duncan Ferguson, David Unsworth & Gravesen, Scouse Pies, those blue stones that go around the pitch, Everton mints, Chang, OPERATION GOODISON EXERCISE, The Wilmslow, "Everton's gonna win the cup, big Dave's gonna lift them up, Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, Horse Shit on the Bullens Road, Stanley Park & the Color Blue.

  7. the thing about messing up team spirit has always seemed media led to me.

apart from dabo, for obvious reasons, he doesnt get a bad rep from other players.

and by all accounts the only time he gets angry with his team mates is when they arent pulling their weight, which i have absolutely no problem with at all.

    Good Point.

  8. I really am stuck in two minds when it comes to Barton.

No one can question his Footballing ability. I watched the Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal game and he practicality dragged the Skunks along by himself. We are in the shit. If we don't sign him I seriously think we won't see one addition. So that's why I want him.

    However,

He's a Gobshite. The one thing every player at EFC says is just how great our team spirit is. I'd hate for anything to spoil that. I do wonder if Moyes has spoken to some of the Senior players about this, Nev, Tim, Mikel, Howard or Silvan to see what they think. Then if Moyes does meet him tomorrow, I hope he reads him the riot act about how to present himself at our club. The last thing we need is him coming in and creating waves.

If he does sign I do hope he gets shot of that silly mustache, this isn't 1943 Joey.

  9. Looking back now. Yes. But that isn't my point. At the time when they were brought they would have been classed as assets wouldn't they? I mean, I might be wrong here, but I'm sure if you can sell something then it's an 'asset'.

Asset = "Anything tangible or intangible that is capable of being owned or controlled to produce value and that is held to have positive economic value is considered an asset"

When they (AJ & Beats) were brought, we all would have assumed they could have produced 'revenue' if/when they were sold. I mean, Sir Alex actually considered Beattie, but opted for spending his cash on C. Ronaldo!!!
