The issue is not so much about effort, it's about showing for the ball and intent in dangerous areas. We don't commit to doing that. Not a surprise as we are shit and have been all season, and it's one of the reasons we are shit.

I looked at their team sheet. Loads of young players in their first season at the club, a couple on loan and a few old timers that have been there years. I reckon that's not the best mix now they're relegated.

I once had to deliver the match ball at Vicarage Road for a Watford Bournemouth game a few years ago. My work at the time had sponsored some part of the match bollocks. Silva was our manager. On the pitch just before the game I had to hand over the ball and they had to ask me a few questions. Just before this I told them that I was a big Everton fan and I was going to tell the 21,000 supporters that the ball was being delivered with love from Goodison. They begged me not to do it, which I wasn't prepared to commit to so in the end I got to deliver the ball but they didn't let me anywhere near the microphone. I was gutted as I really really wanted to know what it felt like to get booed by the whole ground. I would have been in big trouble with work but it would have been well worth it. Anyway, COYB!

He’s been a passenger for most of his time here, and a dickhead for some of it. Glad he’s making a difference on the pitch at the moment but can it be a coincidence that he’s out of contract and looking for his next job?

Hard not to give it to Myko for that volley (isn’t this the second match in a row he’s gone of injured too), but Pickers was amazing. If we stay up it’ll be down to him.

Difference, and what a difference it is, is that we look like a team, with a plan, everyone knows their roles in and and others, and we are working hard to grind out the result. We haven't had any of that all season. Well done Frank for forging it together somehow, and the lads for grafting it.
