  1. To be fair to Foz, the topic did (for some reason) turn in to a debate as to who's the biggest blue when we all clearly are love EFC & just want the best for our club.

I just found it incredible to see the OS trying to gee us all up when they've simply given us nothing to get excited about (granted, that may change in the next few days and i've no doubt they HAVE been working 24/7 but effort now needs to beturned in to achieving something postive).

Just love it-being asked on the OS if we're ready for the new season, should be asking that to themselves!

    Especially this bit

'The 2008/09 campaign kicks off in less than 10 days and time is running out to secure your Season Ticket.'...and time is running out to buy 5 quality players!

Also, on the OS Elstone claiming it's the best squad we've had in so long...how can that be when we've just lost AJ (and faddy still not replaced)...another pleb at the helm.

By the way, I was keeping my patience until today but seeing the OS has flipped me!

  3. "I usually just put one finger up signaling a goal, but, it being the kop end, two fingers automatically went up. I got hauled up in front of the FA and I was like Ted Rogers trying to go from two fingers to one and trying to convince them it wasn't a v-sign."

    Kevin Sheedy

"Andy Gray is an ugly b****** in the morning and I can vouch for that because I've slept with him a few times."

    John Bailey

"I'd break every bone in my body for any club I play for but I'd die for Everton"

    Dave Hickson

  4. Just based on last nights game, one plyr stood out for me...Kolodin. Still young for a CB, great shot and puts his foot in, great marking too. Maybe if we could get him here we may have a chance with Arsh otherwise think he's got arsenal written all over him (esp if hleb goes).

  5. Thought benni mac was all agreed (with player & club) but porto had to pull the plug cos they'd lost a forward? Sure it was virtually a done deal.

Not seen much of ramsey but it says evrythg if 4 of the top 5 premiershp clubs are fighting over him. Just hope we've got plenty more to spend on plyrs who are more likely to play next season.

  6. That was like my view on why we maybe delayed signing him, ie once he was all signed up his form may dip so we prolonged it to keep him keen. Something now tells me there's more to him than that now though and i reckon he'll continue to impress.

Just wonder what pocket of funds the board will claim the money came from (hopefully not from the summer pot but i'm sure it will be).

Well done to DM too, great deal.

  7. Cant see the fa runner-up having any right to a place in uefa, reckon it would simply go to 6th place in the league (which will be pompey anyway <_< ).

Would also like to think that our uefa co-efficient (or whatever its called) would put us in a strong position to claim the last uefa spot but just cant see it coming to that......we'll make uefa - at the least!

Next match v derby is a major wknd with games running out, the gap below us could well open up again if west ham can do us a favour.

  8. You can't buy someone in for the express purpose of being the captain, a leader of sorts but not a captain. You have to earn the right to captain the team, you have to earn the respect of the team, you have to earn the respect of the fans and you have to learn about the club and embody what it stands for, they have to develop the passion to run through brick walls for the club. A captain is moulded over time as they grow into the club. That's just my opinion though, I'm sure people have different views.

Agree but reckon Pip Neville was brought in much for that reason, he was captain in no time.

  9. A winger - This is a bit random and maybe i've only seen his better performances but Daryl Murphy (~25yrs old, 6' 3", great left peg and quite cheap if they get relegated.

A forward - We've proved we are short up front when we get injuries - How much for Benzema??!!

Ctr Mid - Fernandes on another year loan as he's not yet proven his worth this time round but the talent is there (reckon valencia would agree to another loan).

    ...Oh, and peanuts!

  10. The vote was worded not in an underhand way but just didnt offer all options, it was kirkby or nothing and obviously we all want something new. Its got to the point where the fans just want to show what they really feel and the majority (forget the vote) would prefer somewhere nearer to Goodison (and the current feeling that i'm aware of more than any other is to redevelop Goodison).

Kirkby is becoming another farce with differing opinions at board level about how much we would have to invest etc. For me, the vote has now become null n void.

Hope you get the move you want (and us too)!
