  1. Let's give it a real go against Chelsea - the reward is now there. A home draw against lower league opposition (albeit a team that are going very well) for a place in the QF's..
  2. So, why even bother coming onto our site? Go away and concentrate on your own club. You are an irrelevance.
  3. Sheedy - that was very funny. On a completely seperate note but as a Sheedy fan - remember his classic moment in the FA Cup against Ipswich? Takes free kick, curls it in but disallowed as ref not ready. No bother, he just curls it in the other corner to really take the piss! Class.
  4. It is on the UEFA website that he has gone. The club need to make a statement, as we are becoming a laughing stock.
  5. The man is on!! If you went tonight we need an honest appraisal of this guy!! Can he head the ball? Pace? Tackling? We need your scout report!
  6. Let's not be harsh on Kenwright on this matter about Ipswich gettinga percentage. After all, that is a clause that buying clubs use to keep down the basic/upfront fee. Would you have expected us to make a profit on Bent - I know I wouldn't have expected it. However, if we do sell Kroldup at a significant reduction on what we bought him for then questions need to be asked.
  7. IF we did make an offer, I imagine it was something like £2m up front and then a fiver a week for the next 30 years or something similar! I am preparing myself that there will be no new faces this January and will just be pleasantly (I hope!) surprised if new faces do come in.
  8. Millwall - to think that Millwall Football Club continues to try to move on as a club. It's a real shame as their club tries so hard. Ultimately though this part of London is full of such thick scum that they are fighting a losing battle. Millwall - as an individual you are one sad twat.
  9. Oh for heavens sake. Does anyone else start to think we're being punished for having the audacity to have such a good season last year?! Collina, every defensive error punished, VDM injured all the time, Chelsea in the Cup. Ouch
  10. 45 minutes to sort this out. Going out in the 3rd round of the Cup is unacceptable Blues. With so little to cheer, we need a Cup run (not to mention the money!). Just sort it Blues..
  11. Why do people keep asking this? Please lets show ourselves as being above such pointless gossip. Can he deliver for us on the park is the question.
  12. I don't usually comment on rumours as there are so many that fly about. But all 3 of these stack up for me. The interest in Nugent is well known and much as they would like to keep him, Preston simply could not reject a bid of £2m. Whether Duncan gives up in January or not, he has been big enough to admit that he is struggling so we need a second striker (we do anyway!) and Hasselbaink hasn't done much since he went to Boro - not considering his wages. Kroldrup - there is something going on here, the whole thing is too strange. You DO NOT leave a £5m defender on the bench, not even giving him 15 minutes or something. If I had to bet, I am willing to stake a quid that he goes back to Udinese for maybe about £4.5m - half a million loss. The whole thing of keeping him for when Yobo goes to the ANC is not enough justification. Despite the varying stories, I do suspect that 3 or 4 will arrive in January, a new Keeper being one. To all my fellow Blues, Happy Christmas and wahtever our current troubles, lets give the RS absolute hell on the 28th.. Phil (alas not back home for Christmas)
  13. Not for me - too inconsistent. Full of tricks, but week in, week out and to score us 12-15 Premiership goals a season and to be a partner to Beattie?
  14. It is encouraging news (let's face it we need to take whatever positives we can at present!) that he is doing a good job in such a tough league. It seems like he is a good player. Thus, he either makes it with us (great) or we have a possible consolation of maybe having interest from Spanish clubs for him.
  15. 5 live doing 2nd half commentary...
  16. I don't really think that this is a big loss if he does finally sign for Celtic. However, the wages would have been huge and is a central midfielder really a priority with the limited funds that we have? Good luck to him but lets get young, hungry players. I remain a fan of Sean Davis and if the price of £2m is correct, it's worth a go.
  17. Damn, which one to choose - I was there the day we ripped United apart and beat them 5-0 so that was special. When we were chasing for the title in '85 and we had to go Spurs at Easter on a midweek. We went 2 up, they got one back and then Nev made that save, unbelievable save. Not mathermatically, but we won the title that night. The sheer unadultered joy and relief of avoiding the drop, Barry Horne and Graeme Stuart will always get a warm welcome at GP. And of course, having a great speck at the side of the Gwladys St for the Bayern game - what a night. But for me, I have only ever stood on the Kop once in my life. I was 14, short and naive - I stood behind one of the barriers. 90 minutes of trying to survive, but worth every second. Why would I pick out a day on the Kop? It was the day Sharpy took the p*** and banged one in from 35 yards. I still watch that clip on DVD sometimes - the scenes of a handful of Everton fans running on the pitch to mob him - including the bloke who does his best aeroplane impression. Priceless.
  18. Phoenix from the flames now that the site seems to be back up and running. And let's hope it is for the club too (and hey, in these difficult days, lets take a moment to congratulate the Ladies side who continue to perform well). Let's face it, we've got Chelsea on Sunday and whilst there is always hope that the fact there is little pressure/expectation to this game might help, realistically we can't expect anything from it. However, Middlesboro at home in the Cup next Wednesday. By then Kroldrup & Beattie should be ready to start and VDM may be ready for the bench. And Arteta should be back. A decent crowd, score first (which is what we need to happen more than anything else at the moment) and we may just get ourselves on the road back.. A team with Krodrup, Yobo, Ferrari, Arteta, Cahill, Neville, VDM and Beattie at the heart of it will click soon. Call to arms Blues, don't take the bait of the other fans at the moment and don't groan at the first misplaced pass from the players. Come on, lets effing well sort this out between us all.
  19. Gutted but proud is how I feel. Over two legs I think Villarral just had too much for us, but lets have no doubts they are a very good side going forward. Yes, Collina gave us zip tonight and even putting my emotions aside I really can't see anything wrong with the disallowed goal. BUT - in both legs we have shown ourselves to be a decent side and we're getting better. We're starting to play the ball a bit better and with a left sided midfielder, the midfield is looking good. With Krodrup and hopefuly Ferrari to provide more athleticism on the left hand side of defence that helps. We do however need 2 new strikers to add to Beattie. Before the start of the season I thought Villarreal would put us out and that we'd struggle to finish top 10 in Prem. I now feel we can finish top 6 in the Prem and have a good run in the UEFA Cup. So heads up, our club is moving forward. Oh yes and did Kenwright get kicked out of the stadium or something at half time?!
  20. I agree. If there is truth in this, this in my eyes will be one of my most dissapointing days as a Blue. Your club is about more than simple results, it's about what it stands for. Stubbsy was never a really great player for us, but he did a decent job and he gave his absolute all. And is a supporter. I saw him quoted in the last week or two saying he will be coming to watch us when he gets the chance. The club should be absolutely ashamed if this is true..
  21. Hang on folks. It's a little under 2 weeks until the transfer deadline (August 31st). Once the deadline went for the European CL qualifying game, it seemed obvious that we would wait until we had played the 2nd leg against Villarreal. I am sure that work is going on behind the scenes, but probably with 2 shortlists depending on whether we qualify for CL or the more likely scenario of UEFA Cup. Also, MOST clubs wait until the last few days before completing moves. The main reason being that if they spend all their money and then get a serious injury to an exsting player on say August 27th, then they can't replace him. I'm as worried as everyone else, however I simply cannot believe that we won't have 2 or 3 new recuits come August 31st. We all trust in Moyes. Call me naive, but I also have some faith in Wyness and Kenwright too...
