  1. I'm sure like the rest of you, I have leaant to not get too excited until they are signed, sealed, delivered. However, I am excited by the report given on the Eurosport link posted by Adam. If we get him and then get him permanantly this could be one of best signings in years. Sign this lad Blues.
  2. Difficult pitch or not, these guys are paid a s*** load of money. First half poor. At least try and get your foot on the ball. Has Neville misplaced every single pass so far?!
  3. With both Bolton & Portsmouth losing yesterday, along with a draw for Spurs, we have been given another chance to get ourselves in the middle of the battle for a UEFA Cup place. At the moment we are a little too distant for my liking. Home draws with Wigan, City and Reading, along with somehow losing at Fulham. Just like all the other teams in the league (except United) we can point to games where we let a chance slip. However, win today and we can position ourselves for the run-in. Lose and I just feel that these sides (notably Bolton & Spurs) won't let us back in and we will end up 9th or something. Be positive today Blues. Go win Everton, go win..
  4. Fernandes would become as important as Arteta, Lescott, AJ & Cahill if we could get him. Quality. My fingers are crossed..
  5. Been a few months since I wrote anything on here, realities of parenthood kicking in! Edgar Davids - the wages would be too high. How do we keep the likes of Cahill, Arteta and Lescott content when someone comes in and gets much monre money than them? Lets be honest, the game is all about money now and as such their morale will dip. It's not like he has done much for Spurs. Would be great to see the likes of Reo-Coker come. Personally though I'd still prefer to see a good quality left sided midfielder come in.
  6. Great stuff. Just remember, we're immensely proud to be Blues, we wouldn't support any other side and because we don't get things on a plate, it matters all the more. And so that is why those pictures of Andy King, Sharpy, KC and the scrum after Lee's goal is so fantastic. We're better than every last one of that fucking shower. Always.
  7. Thanks (but I'd look rubbish in a kilt!). I just think that it's not enough for people to simply turn up - not enough for the players to go through the motions and pick up their large wages (Andy VDM I am watching and there have been enough words now, time for you to deliver), they have to want it and give it their all. Likewise, as supporters its easy to turn up and sit there waiting to be entertained or pleased...but lets face it most of our best moments are based around great rallying efforts on the pitch and the old place rocking! Bring it on.
  8. It's the eve of another season and after our gradual progress as a club and squad the time is coming for us to step up and be noticed again. Our 4th place in 04/05 was fantastic, hopefully we can have something else to cheer about this season. Blues Fans, I remind you of; 1. DM making us all feel a bit prouder when he joined us and announced The People's Club 2. DM's first game and Rhino scoring in the opening moments. Cue pandamonioum! 3. Sharpy's volley at Anfield and the half dozen fans who joined the celebrations - especially the guy with his aeroplane impression - History of the club dvd/video 4. Duncan's goal against United 5. Barry Horne's volley against Wimbledon 6. Graeme Stuart's winner against Wimbledon and the feeling when that went in. 7. The Bayern night. 8. The team spirit that the current side have and the growing intensity of the supporters in getting behind them. The 04/05 spirit of players and fans combined with our now added quality can take us places this season. 9. Being at White Hart Lane the night we effectively won the title in 85. Snooker balls lobbed from Spurs fans couldn't dampen the mood. 10. My favourite because it says it all about being a Blue - Victoria Ground, Stoke, FA Cup 3rd Round, Jan 84 2.45pm - 10,000 Blues making a racket, Kendall opens the changing room window and told the players "that's your teamtalk". Fucking brilliant. So when you hear z-cars tomorow and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, get behind the boys and do so throughout the season. Bill K, Alan Irvine, Davey Weir, Phil Neville, James Beattie, Davey Moyes - come on you Blues. And Tim, Joleon & AJ - Welcome to a very special club.
  9. Reidy wore 6. And I'm not 100% but I think that Brace actually wore 10, with Inchy or Gray wearing 8 depending on which played. The Classic side.
  10. Goldfish Memory, that's a great effort to write it all down. That's how I remember it, except I remember it being Derek Mountfield not Dave Watson in the original version - so it was And we love our empty head, empty head (!). I remember singing this song on the way down to Wembley on the coach. But 10/10 to you GM for your full rendition!
  11. I can't remember if this had songs on it, quite possibly. But the majority of the almum was the Radio City commentary of the season - the goal commentaries and the increasingly excited commentarties of Gary Bloom (Everton fan) and Tylesley.
  12. Good shout to see if this recording is still around. For those of you who haven't heard it,this was a fantastic album/cassette. My understanding is that it was deleted so is reliant on ebay scenario I guess.
  13. Luis Boa Morte will be our left sided wide player. Just a hunch.
  14. If we don't get too many injuries, then top 6. Moyes & Irvine will all have pre-season with the new squad to get them ready and the tactics well bedded in by all. I also predict a Cup Final appearance! Now wouldn't that be nice.
  15. Lets assume for a moment that we have £12m (and this has to be in some doubt) to spend this summer. We spend £8.5m on AJ, leaving us with £3.5m, presumably to get a Centre Back. All I am saying is that this would be the limit of our buying this summer. I am not saying we can neccesarily get better for less, maybe we just have to make the money go a bit further.
  16. In my humble opinion I am not convinced that he has particularly proven himself at Premiership level. Don't get me wrong, I think he is worth having, but just not at that price. Just an opinion though and I do see where you're coming from.
  17. £8.5m for Andrew Johnson - have we gone mad here folks? Come on, are we really saying that if we have £8.5m to spend on 1 striker, that the striker of choice would be AJ?
  18. You do have to laugh to some degree. We seem determined to make our limited funds have the most possible impact - and we would all agree that this is what we want. We seem to turn down quite a few players that either fail their medical or are unconvincing in medical terms. But lets look at the players we brought in last summer - Valente, Van Der Meyde, Kroldrup, Davies, Neville and Ferrari. Phil Neville - well done lad, keep up the honesty & good work. Valente - dodgy start, a few too many niggly injuries but will come good for us I think. The rest? A waste of money.
  19. Stevo, I agree we need to try to keep Yobo. But if he won't sign a new deal, do we just keep him for a year and let him go for free (when we could probably get say £4m for him). That £4m (say) could bring in a replacement for 4 years.
  20. Knowing it will be a minority opinion, but personally I think it would be a shame to lose Pistone - he can play both full back positions, indeed he often seemed better at RB. He has also done a job at CB (heaven knows, we are going to need some cover there!). Not the best by a long shot, but with our money tight, maybe having him as back up would have been decent. Get rid of Naysmith though. It would be great to keep Yobo, but lets face it, we simply cannot afford to let players go on a Bosman - certainly not those ones that are worth a few quid anyway!
  21. Dare I suggest that the more relevant question is whether we think McFadden is a key part of the team/squad for next season? Personally I still see him as a squad player and not first choice to play up front with Beattie. For those who want to know about sexuality and other such private business why don't you look up hello.com or something. Farce.
  22. If you did not already know this, Mr Labone is on record (indeed on my video tape) as saying "Don't forget lads, 1 Evertonian is worth 20 Liverpudlians". Brian Labone will always remain one of a small handful of players that can be called an Everton legend. Dean, Sager, Young, Ball, Kendall, Harvey, Labone, Ratcliffe and Southall - one or two others but not many. Rest in Peace Brian.
  23. Ok, so we have apparently agreed a fee with Oldham, but has he actually signed yet? Until he has signed, I just epxect some other club to come in and grab him. Moyes - if you want a player, effing well sign the player, I'm one of your supporters but the Dithering bit needs to go!
  24. I tell you what, bollox to the muppets trying to run the club, this is what it means to supporters, sitting at their PC's until midnight just in case..
  25. He was on the pitch for 7 minutes for us. It's not on. We are in desperate need of striker options and he gets a 3 game ban. We all know he is Blue through and through but he does more harm than good.
