  1. It's times like these that I'm glad I don't live in Liverpool. Seeing how our squad failed to even try.... I'll just say that it would drive me insane (can't imagine how natural Evertonians might feel). Luckily, my mates from England are from Ipswich, so at least they can't say anything about it.

Very disappointed... really thought we'd could pull a win or draw from that game... instead we're settling for a 3-0 loss. 3 goals to nil just looks so demeaning.

I'll put it this way. I'm trying to introduce one of my friends to Everton; let's just say that he was not a big fan after watching his first Everton game on the TV. The worst part about it is I talked them up as being at least hard-working when they're playing poorly. Yesterday's game made me somewhat of a liar.

  2. I'd say the reason we lost yesterday was simple......Gerrard!

There's a thread on here asking a simple question, Gerrard or Fellaini.....I'd say the answer was pretty obvious.

That's not a great liverpool team, and we at our strongest would have had a much better chance. The major difference last night was Gerrard, he pulled strings, showed team mates what to do and where to go, he was box to box, he was fired up......he scored three goals!!

Against him we had a rusty Rodwell, there was only likely to be one result.

Fellaini had some good moments, but on that showing Gerrard was light years ahead.Gerrard has practicly carried liverpool for the past few years and nearly always plays well against us, the only consolation is he's getting on in years and to be honest he can't be replaced.

Seriously, last night, we weren't that great, but I don't think liverpool were that great.....but they were driven, driven by a player who has to be probably the best of his generation. We didn't just give him space last night, he bloody well created it for himself.

He's had bad games, but last night he WAS the difference.

We need to move on and hope Rodwell or Barkley are 80% as good as him.

Where would liverpool be without him?

I have to say I agree with this statement, I hate that Gerrard plays for the reds... but I wish we currently had a "Gerrard." That, coupled with sure-fire tactics.

    A man can dream...

  3. said many times..i'd rather he lost the ball tryin to do summat upfront than it just gets hoofed..ok he loses the ball sometimes but he's also got us points alone this season..well worth it on a free...unpredictable and very quick..moyes should leave him up when defending cos i don't like him losing the ball in our half

Bs a short answer because hes got 5 assists in something like 7 starts and he's scored 2 aswell. If we didnt have those assists we would be even lower in the table!

I'm going to say yes(depending on the wages as well).
  4. Honestly, I thought it was a mistake to sell Beckford. He didn't really get to show all of his ability. He had a decent first year in the premier league, and I think he would've played even better this year. Maybe it just comes down to Everton and the bank. I just think, considering the options that we have now at striker, that it wasn't a good strategic move.

No use crying over spilled milk though.

  5. I do think Buddle is better than Denis, though I also like Denis. Buddle has proven himself on the MLS level several times. I'd compare the MLS to middle-tabled Championship teams (except I think LA would be at the top of the table), so he's at least been consistent.

That said, I really would rather have a younger player that we can develop, but already has a lot of experience. Vellios is good for the future, but I think DM is looking for a quick fix to our striking woes... I don't think we'll find one within our budget.
