  1. I see your luxury tv just happens to be in New York.

Let's not let 7000 miles get in the way of you condemning Moyes though. How are the Yankees doing these days?

I see lots of moaning coming from Mississippi too, and lots of other overseas locations. What I don't see though is too many 'Moyes Out' comments from folk who go to the match. It seems to be very much an 'Internet forum' trend.

Hmm, I missed a few arguments there. I was away from the forum for a day. I noticed a couple of pages back that you, Av, mentioned the bemoaning of a fan from Mississippi -- seeing as I'm the only fan from MS, I'd have to assume that is me. Not too pleased that I'm considered a "bandwagon" jumper just because I disagree with Moyes' tactics. I have the benefit of watching the game on the tele with replay, pundit analysis, and stat sheets at my disposal, and I felt able to make an opinion that is based on my own experience while watching the game. Furthermore, I never called for Moyes to be sacked and only that I question his tactics from time to time -- Questioning tactics will always be a trend among the fans.

I realize that Moyes is the most capable manager for this club at the time, but I still question him, because I don't always agree with every decision he makes. Granted, I'm not there, so I'm not at liberty to claim I'm an expert of the game. However, I did watch the game. I saw the ineffectiveness of Cahill, and I've never seen Felliani play well in an attacking role (ever), so I assume Moyes was seeing the same things. I didn't even disagree with the fact that he brought Distin on; I just felt it should've been Cahill out instead of Saha.

While I'm sure you didn't mean to offend me, your comments make you seem as some sort of elitist who thinks every opinion that differs from his own is incorrect and that, my friend, is what I call narcissism. I'm just baffled that you think that everyone who disagrees with you is some sort of idiot who only makes opinions on the basis of what you consider to be misinformation.

Like you say, it is never wise to comment right after a match, because emotions are swirling, but I still stand by my comments earlier and show no remorse for disagreeing with Moyes from time to time.

  2. It is a shame, I had high hopes for him too.

If he does go he will have my best wishes, I genuinely hope he goes onto have a good career.

He's carried himself well, never been out in the press slagging the manager or the club, never in the pubs causing trouble. He has been a good pro, just isnt suited to our game.

Agreed. I still think he'll go to a club that better suits his playing style and will shine. He just wasn't given enough chances, in my opinion.

  3. Not often I could say this but seen Henry place twice in NY in MLS this year, and both times he has been overly disappointing, no where near the Henry we are all used to seeing on MOTD.

That said, he would still make our starting 11 up front.

Agreed. I think he was their best player... but that's not saying too much. He was expected to go into the season as the best player. He still showed flashes of brilliance, but not anywhere near his old Arsenal self.

  4. You may have noticed that he has an Irish surname, he's said he'd like to play for Ireland but it's not possible as he doesn't meet FIFA's requirements, (it is his great grandparents who are Irish, had it been his grandparents then he'd be eligible for Ireland).

Hopefully he'll prove a decent enough player to merit a senior team call-up in the future.. be it Ireland or England

  5. looks like moyes understimated some players, put russian like Attacking Middlefield and saha/gueye/drenthe injured? on left...neville helps coleman more to cross/pressure/attack on RB than hibbert...in the middle we just need Fellaini and Cahill they are good in there, on attack its tricky argie/vellios or anichebe at least is strong for fight vs light arsenal defense.

cmon moyes believe in your team, dont be f4g..

Think I deciphered the rest besides the bold...

  6. I don't want to knock Moyes all the time, he has done some great things for us, but I seriously worry for us at the moment and as you say tonka I can't see who we could bring in to make a difference?!

I think Moyes has done some amazing things. Right now, I'm just upset about the result and am spouting my anger... I'm sure it will change tomorrow and by our next win, I'll love Moyes again.

  7. Heitinga, mr moyes moving him to CM was a falic headed decision. Just cos he has or can doesn't mean he should.

That manager seems to be on a mission to peeve off every player he has at the moment. Something tells me he has done serious confidence damage with Barkley and his Blackburn hasty decision.

Must be. When I look at the votes above for MoM, Ross is in third with having only made 5 appearances. hmmm..

  8. Any thought in my mind that Moyes is the man to take us forward if we ever get that magical buy out evaporated today with THAT substitution. I can't tell you just how fucking livid it made me. Is he that desperate to get Distin back in the side that he'll do anything to make it happen? Why mess with the defence when, even though it was under pressure, was standing up reasonably well to that pressure? Bringing Distin on in itself wasn't the worst substitution in the world but to take our only striker off for a CB is absolutely mind boggling. Further to that we're then left with Cahill upfront who hasn't scored for a bastard year! And he has the bright idea of pushing Fellaini further upfield to be his support, and he's actually pretty crap at that role. Also, he shifts our best CB of the game (Heitinga) into midfield where he has proven many times that he's pretty shit. So with one fell swoop, or one substitution, he completely messes with the dynamic of the side. It was no wonder that Arsenal pretty much instantly took the lead when the team was messed around with that much (needlessly, IMO).

Then with our other substitutions Cahill manages to actually stay on the pitch for 90 minutes despite being utterly ineffective the whole game, and actually ended up playing as a proper midfielder where he has even less impact or usefulness for us.

I'm not going to call for Moyes to be sacked or any of that, but I just cannot back him. I can't.

Howard - Made some cracking saves and if not for him (and Heitinga and Hibbert) we'd have been on the end of an embarrassing hammering.

Hibbert - Put in a good defensive display today - crucial blocks and tackles etc.

Jagielka - He was as dodgy as he's been all season in that first half. He was caught out a lot and Heitinga had to cover for him time after time. He settled down in the second half but he's a massive concern back there.

Heitinga - He really is showing why he's said he wants to play at CB. He was a rock at the back for us all game long (apart from when he was shifted into midfield shaking%20fist.png ). He was left on his own 2 Arsenal defenders running at him at one point, while the rest of our defence was nowhere to be found, and he didn't panic and throw a tackle in, he just stayed calm and RVP was eventually caught offside. My MOTM.

Baines - Very poor from Leighton all round today really. He was terrible defensively, his corners were atrocious, as were his crosses from open play (when we actually bothered to go forward).

Coleman - Attempted to take us forward but more often than not he had no one further upfield to give the ball to so had to turn back and usually ended up losing the ball in a dangerous area.

Neville - I have to say I wasn't best pleased to see him starting today, but, of our two DM's he was by far the better of the two.

Fellaini - I was in awe of the man today. In awe of just how shite he was. His control was awful, his passing was sloppy (and that's being kind), he lost the ball in dangerous areas and then just trotted nonchalantly after the Arsenal player who dispossessed him. I wanted to strangle him.

Bily - He was Bily. That is all.

Cahill - Oh he tries like a good boy but, fuck me, he may as well have not been playing. How he managed to complete the full game is laughable.

Saha - I want him to stay in the box. Preferably a fucking wooden one because he's on his last legs.

    Just what I was thinking.

  9. Should've taken Cahill off instead of Saha! Infuriating!!! I enjoyed watching Coleman in the second half though.

    Howard was brilliant.

    Heitinga, decent.

    Felliani, so-so.

    Bily, average

    Moyes, questionable.

  10. our top priority is a striker a proven goalscorer,i would be happy with just that as long as we dont lose baines and jags.

if either of those two go it will be a big loss,

True. As much as I'd love for Landon to come back to Goodison, with me being American and all, the lack of goalscoring ability by the front-line is atrocious. Striker first.

  11. I'd take him in a heartbeat for free. In the MLS, you have can have only 2 or 3 designated player spots.. AKA only 2 or 3 slots for paying a someone a ridiculous salary(Beckham, Keane, Donovan are the Galaxy's 3 slots). Basically, a club can't be run financially in the MLS like Man City does in the PL.

MLS teams can trade one of their slots for cash allocation, draft picks, lesser valued players, etc... Good for strengthening a squad that doesn't have a lot of depth, which DC doesn't. I'll admit, he's not as good as he was pre-World Cup, but I'd say he's better than Faddy (yes, not a good example -- I know). But he still has pace, strength, and can hold the ball up well. He was decent in the MLS and would have been leading goal-scorer but had a couple of injuries where he'd miss a couple of games here and there.

  12. I think Hibbert is okay. Can't say I think he is better than Johnson... but if Moyes is expecting Coleman to be the future of the RB position, then this might be the season to get him in there for some hardcore experience. I don't think we risk being relegated even with Coleman at RB, so might as well, IMO. Hopefully Gueye and/or Barkley will hit a run of form, and they can cover the right side (hopefully used loosely). However, I understand Moyes doesn't really like to throw the young lads in there for too long.
