  13. Everton v Chelsea Everton have had a good run and had a very good start to 2012 in general. David Moyes used his initiative and invention in the transfer market in January and they look much stronger than they did a couple of months or so ago. Chelsea were good in parts during their 3-3 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, but awful in others. To be 3-0 up and not be able to protect that lead was a very strange display, even against a United side renowned for their fightbacks. I think this game will be a lot tighter, but I cannot see Andres Villa-Boas and his side leaving Goodison Park with a win. We know the Blues are a work in progress at the moment but unfortunately, as far as their owner Roman Abramovich is concerned, I think the progress is a little bit slow. Chelsea are back in Champions League action later this month in the last 16 against a dangerous Napoli side, who play a 3-4-3 formation that suits the pace in their side really well. If they go out of Europe, there will be more pressure on Villas-Boas but I think, in terms of his future at Stamford Bridge, making sure they qualify for the Champions League next year is his priority at the moment. 21. Mark Lawrenson's Prediction for Wigan Athletic v Everton Wigan's prospects look bleak - they are bottom of the Premier League with 15 points from 23 games. Just say they are aiming for the magical 40 point mark and they need at least eight wins, which is more than half their games, to reach it. I know all that has been missing for them when they have stayed up for the last couple of years has been Steve McQueen and the music from The Great Escape but, I just cannot see them staying up this time. I like Wigan, and their manager Roberto Martinez, because they are a friendly well-run club but I just feel it is their year to face the drop. Their problem is that if you get a goal against them, they help you get more - it is rare they stay in games after going behind. They have averaged less than one goal a game all season, don't look like scoring enough to win games, and they always give you chances. That is not a great combination, to put it mildly. The Latics have been in the relegation zone since October and have never looked like getting out of it. Some of their individual players are good enough but, collectively, they don't get it together often enough. Everton were like the Everton of old in their win against Manchester City on Tuesday, and they look in much better shape than they did at the start of the month. At that point, it almost seemed as if Toffees boss David Moyes was back to where he started when he took over 10 years ago, but a lot has changed since then. Moyes has signed Landon Donovan, Darron Gibson, Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic. Against City, they were missing a few players but they didn't half scrap and that was the key for them - some of the City players did not like being tackled! This game presents a different problem, though, because, unlike on Tuesday, they will be expected to win it. Replicating the level they reached against City will be difficult, which is why I am only going to tip them to get a point at the DW Stadium. 23. Mark Lawrenson's Prediction for Everton v Man City (2000 GMT) Everton are close to signing Nikica Jelavic from Rangers, and things have worked out nicely for them with Diniyar Bilyaletdinov moving to Spartak Moscow and freeing up some cash. The Toffees usually make things difficult for Manchester City and I would expect this game to be a bit of a scrap. But I'm still going for City here. Their season boils down to the Premier League title and the Europa League at the moment and they will be clear in their minds what they are going for. City have also been quiet in the transfer market but, again, I am not surprised. They have overpaid before at this time of the year and they are probably thinking that it just isn't worth it unless you are desperate, which City aren't. Kurt Angle says: "We had a great night in Manchester and are back in 2013 so I'm going to have to go for their teams for three-goal victories!"
