  1. The only club I can imagine would have had an Italian in it would be Chelsea, arsenal haven't, can't think of any at man utd or Blackburn. Anyway my mates a mad Chelsea fan and he reckons there wasn't any in when they won the league, so I'm going for a big fat zero as well!

I'll be going for a big fat zero too. The only one that came to mind was Gianfranco Zola but I am sure that he was only ever in the squad when they came 2nd under Claudio Ranieri to Manchester United, I think he retired the season that they reached the top. Maybe Carlo Cudicini picked up a winners medal being Petr Cech's number two? But again he might not have played enough games - I'll go with zero.

    Also;

Zoo's Question of the Day Round 3:

Who is the Spanish national teams most capped player?

Answer: Iker Casillas (127 caps with 0 goals).

  2. got a feeling this is from before my time but i'll go with either Shearer or Owen

Nah, he woulden't have managed 10 internationals without pulling up his hamstring!

On the topic of my question marcopaulo has managed to find the two missing players; Dennis Law who won the award in 1964 defeating two Spanish players in the final, Luis Suarez and Amancio and George Best who won the award some years later in 1968 getting more votes than team-mate Bobby Charlton and Yugoslavian Dragan Dzajic.

2 points to you my friend.

  3. Got some payback for our defeat in 2004

Blimey! You don't forgive and forget easy do you?!

anyone know when the draw is by the way?

It's usually straight after all the games have been played at last once I think, so tomorrow night. I think I remember last season Noel Gallagher and the guitarist from Kasabian did the 5th round draw straight after a match had been played.

  4. A tug-of-war between Fellaini and Donovan for me.

Fellaini looked composed on the ball and even though I think he has played well in recent matches this was an outstanding display from the Belgian. He took every ball that came to him and laid it off to one of our own in blue and despite two errors towards the end around the centre-circle that allowed Fulham to attack he did a real good job for us tonight.

Donovan looked pacey on the wing and looks like he's really coming into his own for us. I wish we could sign him on a permanant basis and his cross for Fellaini's goal was top class, if that had not of been spot on then we would be bickering about a return leg at Craven Cottage.

    MOTM - Fellaini.

  5. Round Five here we come!

Didn't think I would have been saying that at the end of tonight, I have enjoyed every minute of tonight which is something that I can't have said in previous weeks. It might seem like a cliché but can we build on this now in the Premier League? I'm so glad that Stracq got his goal for us and even more pleased that we are in the hat for the next round, Wembley is but a whisker away!

  6. If you are going to come out take the ball Howard, nearly cost us the fucking game there. Corner to Fulham when it could easily have been 1-1.

4 minutes added on says Mr.Webb

We have well and truly sat back now. Hopefully we can keep counter attacking well.

Can you blame us with just one minute (plus added time) to go?

  7. Stracq needs a sub here.

    He's just got it.

Stracq has just been replaced by Big Vic (who told him off for leaving the field too quickly). I'm guessing that we are going to play for the win now (i.e - defend) seeing as there are only about 6-7 minutes remaining at Goodison.

  8. beauty of a header!

Another beauty of a header from TC as he hits the bar from only a few yards out, Stockdale didn't seem to comfortable with it and we end up with a corner, it could have been 3-1 and maybe should have been. Come on Everton! We can do this!

timmy should be scorin that...what a ball by neville..wish he did that more often

I'm still peeling myself off the floor from Pip's step-overs.

  9. Fellaini scores; 2-1.

Header, assist from Landon Donoavan (72') A really nice header in which Maro towered over the Fulham defence and headed the ball over Stockdale and into the Fulham net, we surely should push on for a third but with just 15 minutes to go we need to keep our defence as tight as a ducks arse.

  10. Seriously though, Gueye doesn't seem to be offering anything. What must Drenthe be thinking sitting on the bench watching a mediocre kid getting the nod ahead of him?

Gueye has just come off, Drenthe has replaced him (recieved a cheer from the fans).

  11. Geuye needs to come off I think. Drenthe on.

Are you watching on an internet stream Mike? I want to watch the game but I don't know what the websites are to watch this kinda' stuff, I'd appreciate it if you could link me to a decent website (that is, if you are watching live).

I was just about ot say that straq has been utterly turd... but then... YES!

I love Stracq and hopefully this goal will give him the confidence to score more, I just hope that Moyes gives Stracq the nod for our next league game instead of Louis Saha.

  12. Howard, Neville, Baines, Heitinga, Duffy, Fellaini, Gibson, Cahill, Donovan, Gueye, Stracqualursi.

The subs have just been announced as; Hahnemann, Hibbert, Saha, Drenthe, Vellios, Anichebe, Baxter.

Two questions for me: Where is Jan Mucha? This is the second time that he has not been our second keeper in a cup match (Hahnemann was on the bench against Tamworth too) and why isn't Vellios starting? The potential that he has is unbelievable yet he still dosen't play, it gets on my tits it does!

Oh and another thing, how did you get the team-sheet from Martin Jol's pocket Mike?

  13. 2) Ronaldo

Well done Pete, Cristiano Ronaldo won it 2008 beating Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) and Fernando Torres (Liverpool) in the final.

Probably one or two from the '60s...Charlton/Best etc. Certainly Ronaldo.

I'm unsure if that was a geniune guess or you helping Pete but seeing as you mentioned Charlton I will give it to you! Bobby Charlton won it in 1966 beating Eusabio (Benfica) and Franz Beckenbauer (Bayerm Munich). It was close however as Bobby won the award by just one vote.

  14. does he get the nod for the man city game? or does a 80% fit distan get the start just because its man city!

    Nope.

If Distin is fit then Distin will play. Moyes will play his more established players when he can and has shown that on numerous occassions this season so sadly if Distin has a chance of being fit for the Manchester City game then I expect him to start above Shane, just like if Phil Jagielka was fighting fit again.

  15. Looks for giant boom.....Bloody hell Zoo....you got a 'KA-BOOM'...only select few get KA's....and they ain't just for girls wink.png

My life is now complete.. thanks J! ;)

The BU does/is doing far less damage then the current incumbant board. The club is currently dead on its feet due to gross mismanagement over the past 12 years or so.

Bollocks. The Blue Union is doing more damage than anyone to Everton Football Club.

  16. Joined.

I hate the Blue Union. I think it would be in the club's interest that Bill Kenwright left and we had a new chairman but I am 100% against the way that Kenwright has been treated. A man that has put his own money in his pocket for our club (albeit a small amount) does not deseve the abuse that he gets, the Blue Union are making the vasy majority of our supporters look like idiots and scumballs when in actual fact that Blue Union is a small minority of our fan-base.

I remember a wonder post from Romey 1878 a while back who hit the nail on the head by basically saying - Bill Kenwright and the Blue Union bicker like children whilst the club we love goes under.

The Blue Union does more harm than it does good and the sooner it is closed the better.

  17. I never understand why people push players out of the way when they are not the penalty taker at a football club. I mean, Louis Saha woulden't push Tim Howard out of the way for a goal-kick? And I'm sure Shane Duffy woulden't start mouthing off with Tony Hibbert because he wanted to take a throw in. I can understand that a penalty is more than likely going to get you onto the score-sheet but when it's something as important as a penatly kick then you should have your penalty taker taking it every day of the week because if goes wrong then you look a twat and you lose the opportunity of an easy goal.

Sporting were at 1-1 and in the 92nd minute which would have meant that a goal would land them three points, what Bojinov did was bizarre and I can understand why Sporting are angry - no sympathy from me.

  18. Heitinga had a nightmare in Spain, I can't see him wanting to go back there if there were possibilities in Germany or Italy. Also we can't afford to let him go - this window at least.

I don't know the ins and outs about his time in Spain so I won't argue with you but he played 32 games for Athletico (scoring 3 goals) so he can't of been that bad if he's played nearly every game. I do think that he would prefer to play his trade at Everton than Mallorca though so for the time being I'm not worried, if it comes to it I guess that Moyes will give him higher wages to make him stay..

  19. Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid; Although this goal did not have the same genius as Alves' it was still well taken and showed just how composed Cristiano Ronaldo can be.

Barcelona 2-2 Real Madrid; The final goal of the game, Real Madrid made it 2-2 with Benzema after a nice big of ball juggling and an expert finish past the Barcelona stand-in goalkeeper.

Final Score; 2-2 which meant that FC Barcelona won the tie 4-3 overall. Cope del Ray champions?

  20. I didn't want to start up a new thread for the El Classico game so I thought it would shove this post in here. For me I didn't see any of it because I coulden't find a channel on my television that was covering it but I did follow it on the text. Dani Alves goal was nothing short of amazing, to beat someone like Iker Casillas you need to do something special and that certainly was that (video below). I've found all the goals on YouTube and posted them so everyone on ToffeeTalk can add a bit of El Classico to their lives, what a great way to start your morning.

Barcelona 1-0 Real Madrid; Questions have to be asked over Casillas for me, he could have at least dove for the ball and made an effort but a stunning pass from Leo Messi and a great finish from Pedro to open the scoring.

Barcelona 2-0 Real Madrid; Alves' goal - awesome.

  21. Just to get him off the books, thank god. What was the point in his signing!? Genuinely. Did DM think he was still the same player (who was averaging on shite anyway)? Or did he need another gulible bell' to polish his helmet...

I'd be fine with the transfer to get him off the books but it just annoys me how we have spent our own good money paying him a salary for the past 6 months and are then shipping him off with him having about 12 minutes match time. If Moyes is going to sign a player then he needs to play him rather than leaving him on the park bench and getting rid a few weeks later...

Can we not ask Burnley to stick £500,000 down just to make us feel a bit better?

  22. I have pretty much the same opinion as Goodison Road and Uncle J.

Malaga would be a lucrative move for Johnny as he would be moving to a club on big wages who in the next couple of seasons are looking to reach the peak of La Liga so I woulden't be surprised if he moved there after already starring in the Spainish league with Athletico Madrid. A large packet of wages twinned with the ability to have Champions League football each season(and play with some top players) is something which I think Johnny would take.

Mallorca would be awful however. They are a shite team who are probably going to be playing in the second tier next season, the only good player to come out of their end of the world was Samuel Eto'o and look how quickly he fucked off.

In other words - please stay Johnny, I love you<3

  23.

I'd be gutted if Heitinga went, he has been one of our best players this season and the only way that his departure would be good is if we managed to get £30,000,000 for him (which isn't likely). For me he must be on our 'not for sale' list and I would be fuming if Moyes lets him go for a figure similar to Bilyaletdinov.

He is under contract until 2014 and I really hope that he sees that contract out.
