Absolutely over the moon with this. I aint really commented recently cos Haf has said everything I wanted to!!! But loving this today. Cant wait to watch our football next season. I doubt anyone will want to leave the club with this appointment and reckon the players will be excited by the prospect of playing good, expansive, attacking football. No more sitting back after 70mins...we will go straight for the throat of every team. At only 39, we have not seen the best of Martinez. But we are about to.

What is says about Everton in the above link.... Unlike the clubs above, Everton come with several problems, a more sizeable debt and the need for a new stadium being the most pressing. In addition, chairman Bill Kenwright has generally been very reluctant to depart, and would probably need a good price to consider a sale. De Laurentiis is rich, but he's not Sheikh Mansour rich, and this looks a much better idea on paper than it would be in reality.That aside, a purchase would grant De Laurentiis an established Premier League club with plenty of talented players on the books and a productive youth setup, so if he's willing to push the boat out, it's not completely impossible. Seems a shame that clubs like Leeds and Shef Wed are seen as a better oportunity than us...mainly, it seems, due to our extra baggage!!!

Bit of a misquote or mistype there...Martinez told Whelan he didnt feel he was equipped to get Wigan out of the championship. Whelan disagrees and feels Martinez is being too hard on hilmself and then quotes the injuries they have had. Whelan believes Martinez is the man and wants him to stay.

Dave Whelan on SSN now, defending Martinez with how crippled the team were with injuries...upto 8 at any time...he's saying no manager could have coped with that. Wish there were more people like Whelan in football...in life in general actually!!!

Nah, sorry but I view it differently. My view of a successful youth development is how many make it fully into our first team or get sold at a nice whopping figure. I dont think any player is recruited on the first basis that we will give him a career at whatever level...the first basis is always going to be that they will make it for Everton. Thats my view and what I would expect to see if I owned the club. Otherwise, your investing your money for other clubs benefits??? Like in private everyday business, a business trains its staff to be a success within that business.

I'd expext SSN to start talking more about this later today. Something is gonna happen over the next few days i think.

I like the one above from TheKrow without the latin around the outside. I have looked at the new badge more times now and still like it. I like how the tower actually resembles the tower in real life. However, i do agree that it feels a bit bland and as if something isnt quite right. I have always liked the now old badge but can see how it is a bit to 'busy' for todays digital world. If people feel signing a petition to get their point across is required, then fair play. But unless a huge significant number sign it, a hell of a lot more than the current 14k...thinking of our worldwide fanbase...then it wont change. I think all merchandise will already be done with the new badge on. Like it or not, this stuff will sell. I know the latin is part of the club, but it has been missing from our badge for most of our history, as have the wreathes. I think they are important to the club, but not the do all and end all of our badge. The latin will remain at the stadium etc and will always be part of us.

Generally, do we know what kit deals are worth for other clubs? I would guess that no matter what the deal value, the kit company would influence things in some way. Would be interesting to see if any other clubs who are signed to nike have also changed their badge, either now or in the past. Then that would be a gauge of the influence???

Ok. Haven't really read into how it was designed. Was just commenting in the actual final picture. When peeps dont like a design the school kid thing always comes out. I remember the same with the olympic logo. I understand where your comin from though.

Dont see what all the fuss is about. Its all part of an evolution...which we go through in every walk of life all the time. It looks quite good. Fairly retro. Nice and simplistic. SSN report 6000 fans have signed a petition against it and the omission of the Latin. Probs the same 6k who will whinge no matter who the new manager is.

Total bollock of a thread. None of the backroom staff are in contention. They aint even been coaches for long! They may have been spoken to, but probably more for an opinion. Peace.

Not sure what the problem is to be honest. If we aint got a manager in July, when all players are back, tours are beginning etc, then I will say we didnt have a plan, BK is a prick, Elstone bums BK while the tealady licks his balls But just now, theres no need. The season has just finished in this country, in some it still aint finished, and the players are off on international duty or holiday. There is absolutely no reason to panic. Something will happen within the next week. And in reality, when we take our anti-BK, panic stricken heads off...thats ok, its not a problem. We have no idea about anything...so lets just wait.
