MikeO
I am among those that think (or thought) that we had a fair chance of doing well in the world cup this year, more class players than any time since 1970 etc. etc. However last night our "world class" centre backs were anything but... Ferdinand...playing in midfield ok but why then stand like a spare goalpost in the area and let the ball bounce off your head, looked like a rabbit in headlights. Campbell...hopeless..subbed at half time against West Ham, so he'll be fine against Brazil then!?!? Terry...has decided he can be a more effective defender if he widens himself by using his arms to control the ball (not just last night, he's done it several times and got away with it). Domestic refs seem to think it's OK 'cos he's a Chelsea player but I think international ones might just pull him up on it. My optimism is ebbing away. All I can say is... Stubbs for England!!
