coxy051
David Moyes is ready to spend the Andy Johnson transfer money on Wagner Love. Everton boss Moyes is ready to let striker AJ move on after accepting a bid of around £10.7million from Fulham. Moyes faces competition from Manchester City and Valencia for CSKA hitman Love. The Brazilian striker, 24, has been a huge hit in Russia. He will cost something in the region of £20m as his goalscoring record is one every other game. Everton will be able to offer better wages than Valencia but City seem to have a bottomless pit of cash. They have already spent big on Love’s international team-mate Jo — who cost them £18m from CSKA and their ideal is to re-unite both at Eastlands. I dribbled in me pants when a read this. Cant see it happning tho!
jamiemaher85
I do like Vager Love, we where linked with him last summer if i remember rightly as well, i would like him here but feel that 20m is a real risk, whether it would pay off is another thing. carlmc25
this story was in the Sun wasn't it? if so, I think we can guarantee it's almost entirely made up. I'd expect Bent/Milito to be more likely targets but only time will tell.
Josh Berno
Hes a great player but 20m Heard Bent was meant to be on his way here don't know how much for like.

CraccerC
bent is quality...great movement off the ball, much more direct though, wont run everywhere for you.
Bill
Could have got him for £3m but Davey chose the other Bent instead. ( Marcus ) the cheaper option.
Blue4Ever
Bents well better than Johnson ^^^ All A.J has is pace and Bent isnt slow either. I know who id pick anyway
Bill
He wont be any better with the same midfield, we need some class in the middle of the park to provide for the strikers.
jamiemaher85
I rate Bent as well, I think that he would be a very good replacement for AJ, he has still got his best years ahead of him as well as he is still young, whereas AJ has peaked in his. As i've said before I feel that Bent has a stigmata above his head now becasue of the stupid fee that spurs paid for him. If we could get him for between 8 and 11m i would be very happy. carlmc25
if you spend all game making aimless runs down the wing and never anticipating anything then it's difficult for the midfield to do much, I wouldn't call Pienaar, Osman and Arteta non-creative players. Yakubu scores goals, so someone else could too. I like Bent, but I haven't seen enough of him to judge one way or the other, but he's younger and quicker than AJ, plus he's more direct so I'd take a chance if he's cheaper. adamsmith69
yeah we need some creative midfielders like charlton had if we are going to get anything out of bent!!!!!!!!! hahahah
chicagoblue
I have to think I'd much rather have had Jo for 18 million than Vagner Love for 20. Don't see it happening though, if we wanted to spend that much money on a player from Russia I'd think Arshavin would be a better bet. Im sure that season Bent hit 30 Charlton played some of the best football in the league and finished up near the top of the table.... No they didnt have superstars but they played some attacking very creative football
tiffa
If we can get him for under 10 million snap him up i say hahah. Still sad if AJ leaves tho. Edited July 25, 2008 by Ferguson Is God
LexKing
20M??? wtf, sick prize, this have to be a joke, even i would like to see him partner Yak. Only minus side is that at after him our top 2 strikers would be missing in middle of season. Yak on African nations, Love on Concacaf(or whatever)
