dark
Teams from the Premiership don't really take the Carling Cup seriously. Liverpool didn't play thier first team and lost to Tottenham. Chelsea went out to Burnley and they played most of thier reserves. Didier Drogba coming back from injury and no sign of Terry and Lampard. Arsenal have been playing thier young team that's doing better than the first team and Manchester United crashed out after playing thier youth team against QPR. We went out a round before, so we can't really laugh but it's always nice to see a lower league side overturn a Premiership team.
MikeO
Chelsea went out to Burnley and they played most of thier reserves. Didier Drogba coming back from injury and no sign of Terry and Lampard. Think that's a bit harsh on Burnley....strong team (if not quite their strongest) and definite signs of Lampard and Terry.... Chelsea: Cudicini, Ivanovic, Alex, Belletti (Lampard 25), Bridge, Ferreira, Deco (Mikel 46), Mineiro, Malouda, Drogba (Di Santo 68), Kalou. Subs: Hilario, Sinclair, Terry, Woods. ....the trade off of "big" clubs going out is, as always for us in recent years, the concern that a "small" club like Spurs winning again takes a UEFA qualification place away from the league. EFC-Paul
Well being from Preston im not to fond on the dingle inbreds but a great win none the less, It was quite a good game Chelsea battered Burnley and should have won by a quite convincing margin but missed far to many sitters.
