MikeO
Article in the Telegraph, "Six of the worst," in response to Nolan's "tackle" on Vic. See if you can spot the odd one out. 1. Kevin Nolan, February 2009. Newcastle man puts the boot in on Everton's Victor Anichebe. 2. Martin Taylor, February 2008. Later-than-late challenge by Birmingham defender shatters Arsenal striker's (Eduardo) lower leg, almost ending his career. 3. Steven Gerrard, December 2002. Liverpool midfielder launches himself into Everton's Gary Naysmith with both feet up and studs on show as the Merseyside derby boils over. 4. Roy Keane, April 2001. Manchester United captain's Infamous "revenge" attack on Alf-Inge Haaland left the Manchester City player with severe knee damage. 5. Emmanuel Pogatetz, September 2008. Middlesbrough's Brazilian midfielder somehow fails to do lasting damage to Manchester United youngster during Carling Cup tie. 6. Danny Guthrie, September 2008. Newcastle midfielder leaves Hull forward Craig Fagan with a broken leg. The challenge is described by manager Phil Brown as "intolerable". Blue 250
Odd one out is number 3..... ...Because Gerrard would never do a thing like that!.......Probably you bitter Blues, using trick photography to incriminate poor stevie! So odd one out , because it never happened!
Bill
Think No 2 is my odd one out, although it did more damage than most i dont think it was an "intent to maim" tackle, just an amateurish late tackle.

Rocco
Was Gerrard the only one who got charged by the FA afterwards?
Rocco
Gerrards went unpunished Yeah apart from the FA charge and the 3 match ban and all that, totally got away with it
MikeO
Yeah apart from the FA charge and the 3 match ban and all that, totally got away with it Got away with it during the match was where I was coming from. "the 167th Merseyside derby is likely to be remembered for a horrible-looking two-footed tackle by Steven Gerrard on Gary Naysmith, whose scream of pain could be heard in the Main Stand" The others all got red carded, Gerrard (surprise, surprise) didn't . Yep , that was what I meant . Being punished after the event serves no benefit to the team on the pitch . Same with Kuyt . Refs seem to miss challenges from certain teams now and again
