Bill
OK, Here we go with the winning entries. 1st place goes to The Beard........ all correct. Just seen the quiz Bill. This took me all of 10 minutes haha!. Tuna fish Its a small world (after all) Growing pains Leftovers Ping pong A bad spell of weather Tale of two cities (can't think of anything else for that one) A cut above the rest Divide and conquer Postman Mother in law Within reason A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush All in a days work Dr Dolittle Watership down Three piece suite Kiss and make up Keep em coming --------------------------------- 2nd place was a tie between Mike 21 Tuna fish 22 Small world after all 23 Growing pains 24 Leftovers 25 Ping Pong (this one took me longest) 26 Bad spell of weather (had "change in the weather" first but I think that's better) 27 Shortage of Capital (or Capital shortage).Tale(tail) of two cities 28 Cut above the rest 29 Divide and conquer 30 Postman 31 Mother in law 32 Within Reason 33 Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush (should be an = in there I'd have thought) 34 All in a days work 35 Doctor Doolittle 36 Watership Down 37 Three piece suite 38 Kiss and make up just one wrong ---------------------------------------- And Marcopaulo who unfortunatelt had a lapse of concentration, also just one wrong 21. Two-na-fish Tunafish 22. small world after all 23. growing pains i reckon or big ouchy! 24. thought it was so many overs left at first then i realised that was thick and there is no number so leftovers! 25. took me a while this but p-IN-g and p-ON-g so ping pong 26. bad spell of weather 27. again took me a while but i think its the back end or tail of the cities which would mean tale of two cities? 28. cut above the rest 29. divide and conquer..very clever! 30. post man 31. mom in police so mother-in-law 32. with in reason 33. took me ages this one was writin it down and everythin but has to be a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush! owl in the hand and two in the bush 34. all in a days work 35. doctor doolittle 36. has me stumped but watership down possibly although i don't get where the water comes from. 37. 3 p's and a sweet so i guess 2 piece suite. Aargh, what a mistake to make. 38. x for a kiss and mascara is make up so kiss and make up ----------------------- Thanks lads it was good turnout for that one, well done. MikeO
I still think Shortage of Capital is a better answer to 27 than Tale of two cities. It works on so many levels....think my brain must be more highly evolved than the original setter .

I think you could be right as far as Portsmouth, Cardiff, and Notts county are concerned, But not in our quiz.
The Beard
36. has me stumped but watership down possibly although i don't get where the water comes from. ----------------------- Marco it read across HIJKLMNO, which is the letters H to O, or put another way, H2O which is the chemical formula for water. <_<

Bill
haha thicko! well i was right anyways lucky guess that one!! thinkin you've been a bit mean with my typo there! Sorry Marco, but you were 33% wrong, it might have been a genuine slip but in such a close contest you have to be spot on. You now know how to work them out, the next one is the last, then i will go back to different type quizzes.
