StevO
its crazy isnt it! but the hardest thing is; Owen missed half a season, so did Shearer, and he still got double figures! but Bent and Harewood both played for "lesser quality" teams
StevO
but the best of all, SHOALA AMEOBI SCORED MORE THAN CROUCH!!!!
Romey 1878
Well we all know Sven has his favourites, and you cant get in the England squad if you dont play for a top team (well get in and stay there)
StevO
i hope McLaren isnt that prejudice

Romey 1878
i hope McLaren isnt that prejudice 32023 Same here, but he seems just like an extension of Svender with England, so dont expect many changes to the team or tactics
StevO
James Beattie is the 4th best English forward in the Premiership FACT!!!
Romey 1878
James Beattie is the 4th best English forward in the Premiership FACT!!! 32029 And thats after a pretty poo season for us tbh
StevO
so your saying English forwards suck? your wrong, Beattie is just fantastic!
Romey 1878
He was fantastic in the second half of the season we just need him to do it over a full season
StevO
so if he had a good FULL season, that would be 20 goals, he would be number
Romey 1878
Id love 20 goals from Beattie, if he could get that many then id take AJ only getting 10 next season

Everton_Worshiper
i hope McLaren isnt that prejudice 32023 I am afraid I think he will be, he already has the England board drilled into his head and he took friggin Stuart Downing to the world cup!!??!?!? Now that is a decision I bet McLaren told Sven to make, and once again a bad decision.
chronic
and to compare the long ball with Dunc is again floored, BIG DUNC COULD HEAD THE THING!!! 32000 My point was that if you have a big target man up front the temptation is to start trying to land the ball on his head at every oportunity. I know Big Dunc could head the ball, but I honestly think we played better football when he wasn't starting because we actually had to work the ball. Regardless of who you've got up front, if all you do is send in long balls then the majority of them will go to waste and straight off you've given the ball away. Its personal opinion but I do like Crouch. I didn't think he would be our first choice up front (I saw him as a good utility player for England) but it seems like we don't have a lot of options now. StevO
but Crouch is not a target man!
chronic
but Crouch is not a target man! 32158 I know, that's the problem because they keep trying to play him like one! Regardless of who you've got up front, if all you do is send in long balls then the majority of them will go to waste and straight off you've given the ball away. 32076 So the fact that he's not as good in the air as Big Dunc was, means that we lose possesion even more. StevO
which nicely brings me back to the topic of Hargreevs breaking his legs, no more pathetic "target man" antics, and Hargreeves makes a lot of blue friends
Romey 1878
Crouch has come out crying today saying its not his fault England play the long ball, boo figing boo
smeghead1
Going back to the point of Walcott i think that David Dein had a lot to do with him going, that may be the reason he's been voted out of the FA's head office!! The mans looking after Arsenals intrests while at the same time crapping all over ours!!! They signed him for 12 million he goes to the World Cup and comes back worth more!!! I thought that Sven was a dopey back stabbing tosser but Dein takes the piss!!!
