Steve_E Posted April 25, 2013 Report Posted April 25, 2013 Good ball-playing defender, if the opposition's strikers don't press him he'll drive the ball into midfield and find a team mate. However, I do think he might need to add some weight to his frame to be able to handle the Premier League strikers, he also isn't overly fast. Here he is against Italy, it's of him with the ball, not defending, but it's still nice to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8YvwKwfOog Quote
Peter H Posted April 25, 2013 Report Posted April 25, 2013 I know you can put YT videos together and make anyone look good, but this is all in the same game. Against Italy. He really looks like a handy player. Would really welcome this signing. Get rid of Heits or Jags from starting out attacks. They really cant start plays like this guy. Quote

Romey 1878 Posted March 26, 2017 Author Report Posted March 26, 2017 https://www.clubcall.com/everton/boss-eyes-dutch-defender-1846320.html Everton are set to do battle with Chelsea over the services of Lazio’s Stefan de Vrij in the summer after he turned down a new deal. The Serie A club are keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old, but realise they will need to cash in rather than risk losing him for nothing, if he refuses to sign a new deal. Manchester United have been heavily linked in the past, but now reports claim that both Everton and Chelsea are keen to bring him to the Premier League. The chance to link up with Dutch legend Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park will be tempting for the central defender, but so will the chance to play Champions League football at Chelsea. De Vrij still has 14 months left on his current deal and Lazio would rather sell him for a fee in the region of £30million this summer than let him walk away on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.
