Dalziel Kane
I did some research on Chorley yesterday - albeit briefly - and discovered there are some worthwhile attractions to be had, such as a castle and theme park and other areas of interest. I think to the casual tourist, it doesn't sound like too bad a place to visit, or spend some time. As with all places, to those that live there, you eventually get fed up with your surroundings or wish for something different - but as for that location, seems a worthwhile stop if you're ever in the area. StevO
DK you really need to not take things so serious. This is not a serious thread, and you are the very first person to do research on Chorley in the history of mankind.

Dalziel Kane
I don't mean Drayton Manor or Alton Towers proportions, it's probably a miniature, with a ferris wheel, bumper cars and a small rollercoaster type of thing. I had to look up again, for some level of verification.. There it is - Camelot Theme Park, and then it says it closed last year of all things. But at least it was there up until recent, that's the main thing. Only opened to the public as recent as 1983 before closure it read. Point being, not every town has a theme park (type of thing) to it's name, so you should have been pleased enough.

I live in a little village and we have http://www.diggerland.com/visiting/AboutDevon.htm within half a mile. Just £17 a person to get in.....and it's truly pathetic . Chorley is sadly lacking I think.
StevO
Mike and DK both need a hobby! Or at least a better hobby than looking up boring towns in the north west.
MikeO
Mike and DK both need a hobby! Or at least a better hobby than looking up boring towns in the north west. My hobby is researching north west towns :shaking fist:.
Dalziel Kane
My hobby is drinking, gambling, and getting highly irritated :shaking fist: (I can't believe I just did an adolescent animation thing) And just to add, I didn't find Chorley 'boring', for the most part. First impressions, it was quite a vibrant and lively place to be. There are worst places for sure, you could find yourself in. Spend a week on some estate or high rise in Poplar or Walthamstow and come back, and count your blessings.
