MATCH ACTION SLIDESHOW Sheffield FC 1 Sheffield United 5 UNITED striker James Beattie rattled in a hat-trick as Sheffield FC began celebrations of 150 years in existence with a visit from the neighbours. Gary Cahill and Chris Armstrong also hit the target for United before sub Steve Copnell netted a consolation for the world's oldest club who currently play Unibond League football at their Dronfield HQ. Equally as significant for United on the night was the re-appearance of striker Rob Hulse in the squad. Hulse played his first football since breaking a leg last season. It was all over as a contest after 41 minutes when the Blades established a 3-0 lead. All three were soft goals and taken gratefully by the Championship strugglers. Beattie bagged the first from a penalty after centre back Karl Colley clattered into Billy Sharp. Beattie's low shot from the spot went right, keeper Jamie Holmshaw went left as the watch showed 16 minutes gone. Just over 10 minutes later it was 2-0 and Beattie again celebrating after Holmshaw had spilled a shot and the striker tucked home the loose ball. Sheffield were kicking themselves again after goal No 3. A misdirected header at a corner presented Cahill with a simple chance. It required timing and determination; Cahill's header from two yards out had both. Beattie's third came a quarter of an hour after the break. Lee Hendry laid it on and the centre forward hit the net with a low drive from the inside left channel. Sheffield changed keeper's after the break and Armstrong's cross-shot from the left went by Martin Kearney for United's fifth goal. Sharp was there to help it home. It all started going wrong before we signed him, 11 games for southampton the season we signed him and only scored 3 goals, and if you remember when he came to us he was woefully unfit, then only one goal from january till the end of season, bit of a panic buy and not researched properly, bit like VDM, and possibly Yakubu.
