Bill Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Anybody clued up on screenshot, printscreen etc. ?? Downloaded screenshot and it works but whenever i send it anywhere "my pictures", "my documents", and even to "clipboard" it arrives as a HTML or an ASP WHATS ASP,?? and wont open, or when they do they are all letters and numbers.?? They dont look like anything i copied, I have also tried playing around with the settings by changing the file names jpeg and jiff and such, but doesnt change anything, some i still cant open, and those that i can open are unreadable. Appreciate some tips on what to do but only if you have time available, i dont want to trouble anybody too much. Cheers for any info ............. Bill. Quote
aaron Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 if your printscreening a picture, when printscreened copy it into paint, thats what i usually do Quote
Bill Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 What about text in a table or a frame ?? cos the frame disappears and leaves all the text in a mess. Does printscreen give you the option to download it to paint. ? Quote
Louis Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 There's two set ups I know of - Printscreen can either: Print an exact image of what the screen looks like through the picture or Copies the exact image of what the screens look like so that you can paste it into paint How do you mean you 'downloaded screenshot' ? This might help you: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-o...e-Entire-Screen Quote

This might help you: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-o...e-Entire-Screen Tried printscreen first but then got screenshot cos it gives you the whole page instead of just whats on screen. Got it free download off the web, in the settings it gives you four destinations to send the screenshot. 1. Clipboard 2. Printer 3. Via e'mail 4. to File I want to keep as files but it always goes to a screenshot folder as an ASP file and cannot open it for some reason, dont even know what an ASP FILE is. I have had it on Clipboard but cant do anything with it. Quote
Louis Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Where did you download screenshot from? I've never heard of it :\ Quote
Bill Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 MikeO gave i me the web address for printscreen but i went for screenshot which is an advance on it and gives you the whole page if there is more than what you can see on the monitor. But it doesnt matter now cos i've found a crackin one, its called MWSnap it changes the file format for you and automaticly sends it wherever you want, you can set the size of the area you want to capture or just capture the whole page, auto save to wherever, and most of all its simple. Doesnt give me any probs at all. :D Thanks for all your help those that offered. have a look at it. http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html Quote
Romey 1878 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 I didnt know you needed a program to do that, I just thought you pressed print screen on your keyboard Quote

Pat Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Ive always just gone Ctrl/Printscreen -> Had paintshop Pro or Adobe Cs open -> Then right click -> Paste the fuker as a new image in to the open prog (adobe/Paintshop) -> open the crop tool, cut to how 1 wants, save as whatever & Bill's ya uncle. Takes like 3 seconds Quote
Bill Posted January 9, 2008 Author Report Posted January 9, 2008 Dont need paintshop or anything else Matt, in the settings you programme it to go straight into your pics. The whole screen or any square or rectangle drawn on any part of the screen that you want, and its set to auto save into my pics. Try it and see how easy it is. No software to download you just download the programme in about 30 seconds and it pops up in your task bar as a camera. http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html Quote
