Bill
In an interview this morning Mike Langley said 3 players who he thinks could break into Capello's first squad are .......... David Bentley, Dean Ashton, and LEON OSMAN. I like Osman a lot but i cant see him pushing Lampard and Gerrard for their position, plus he's injured at the mo so i doubt that this is ever going to happen. jacko 1990
Bentley...Yes, Ashton......He's a good striker but Unconsistent in his performances IMO. Ossie is good but not near the standards of Gerrard and Lampard. Would like to see Ashley Young given ago. Capello seems intrested in Gabby Abonghlahor. Calico
If Capello can't make Lampard and Gerrard play well together then I don't see why Ossie can't be given a chance and maybe prove himself.
jacko 1990
well theirs probably, Barry, Hargreaves, Carrick all ahead of him in the pecking order atm.
MikeO
Been saying for years to anyone who was within earshot that Leon reminds me of Trevor Steven and he managed OK. Ossie plays better the better players he has around him in my view, got an excellent footballing brain.....be delighted if he got a chance. Dont think so Jacko, they play the holding role whereas ossie plays more of an attacking role, but can also defend (good engine).
Calico
Gotta agree with Licker, none of those are really box-to-box players, whereas Ossie is. Not only that, but there is a chance that Capello will not just pick the usual suspects.
Blue 250
Shame Osman got injured when he did! was hitting a good run of form, and the team were benefiting from it.surely only just getting into his mid twenties, perhaps his best is yet to come! Could he play for England.....at the top of his game, yes!
