How did William Shankly get into this? In any event, However I feel personally about Liverpool FC, Shankly was a giant amongst men, taken prematurely from us in the Autumn of 1981, and I've read countless tales of him and the sides of the 1960s and 70s. He was a damn fine manager, if not for him Liverpool may never have been the force they were to become, think he took over when they were still second division in the early 1960s or late 50s
 
Stepped down after the 1974 FA cup success over Newcastle United if I remember. He was immense.

as far as i can tell shankly was a man of pure class...any other club and most blues would've loved him..he'd be ashamed by the actions of most of today's players

The whole basis of it (started on the radio as "The Tennis Elbow Foot Game" in 1966, moved to TV briefly in 1968, I watched it) is that you react immediately....any hesitation and you lose; so I completely fail to see the point in reading a word, thinking about it, googling it, searching an online dictionary and then coming up with a "clever" off the cuff riposte.

Listen, im a Liverpool supporter but just wanted to post a big thankyou to Everton FC and of course the brilliant fans for the amazing gesture in last nights game. The little kiddies in the blue and red strips with 96 was fantastic and the song played whilst they showed the 96 names couldnt have been any other song. We are merseyside United !!
Hope you have a good season and well done for beating the Mancs, dont think we will have much luck to be honest !!!
