  2. With Funes Mori out for long time, Besic looks like backup LCH. Has played there in both friendlies, looked confident enough.
  3. I'll guess Besic for cover. He played LCH in second half v. Gor Mahia. And he is surely way down the depth chart among all those DMs.
  4. Well, I thought my Everton fanaticism was coincidental, in that a Wigan lad, Everton family, who had come to the US to play football at university got me interested. But I now see he was on a mission from the gods.
  5. http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2017/07/14/europa-league-draw Likely opponent is Brann (Bergen, Norway), as they won their first leg away, 0-1.
  6. I'm grateful for the link, didn't expect to be able to watch this one. Starting second half with 11 new men worked to perfection, as tiring Gor Mahia players had difficulty keeping up. Obviously not a strong opponent, but for a first friendly, virtually every Everton second half player looked solid to impressive. Mirallas very active, confident, dangerous. He and Baines seemed on same page, nice to see. Barry totally in control, don't want to see him leave! Dowell active, smart, first-rate smash for goal. Picture quality not clear, but I think Besic played LCH. With so many midfielders, I wonder whether Besic might get some meaningful minutes as backup to Williams and Baines. I'm a Besic fan, so maybe it's foolish to think he could be Baines's backup. He's a tough kid, so Koeman might be able to stick him in at several spots, depending on need. Rooney's goal - what a nice beginning! This trip, with team activities, looks a great success.
  7. This anagram crap is pretty irritating, so, back to wary noon eye. Here's an upbeat piece from Ian Darke. http://www.espnfc.us/english-premier-league/23/blog/post/3156224/wayne-rooney-everton-move-about-top-player-looking-to-prove-critics-wrong (Btw, what's Darke's reputation as an announcer over your way? Answer with an anagram, if you must.)
  8. Thanks for responses. I can now access. Maybe some goofy i Pad/Safari issue. I'm clueless, about so many things, including what the hell Barkley is thinking.
  9. Weird. Anyone else unable to access OS? I've never had a problem, and have no problem now accessing any other site I want. But every time I attempt to access the EFC OS, the OS homepage flashes on for just an instant, and then immediately switches to "eticketing.evertonfc.com" and has a link for WebEx. Anyone else?
  10. Sandro very active, no goals, but definitely promising. Hope we sign him. Deulofeu also active, played well, good threat both as crosser and shooter, but ..... gassed at 65 minutes. Subbed at 83 minutes. Spain-Germany a good final on Friday.
  11. Mason did not look good on Germany's tying header. 2-2. Not close to his man, who scored an excellent header. Nor, tbh, did he pick up quite quickly enough on Germany's first goal. Germany much better than England most of this match.
  12. Qatar bribery. Story not new, but I assume the publication of complete Garcia Report might rekindle effort to change 2022 WC venue. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/27/fifa-secret-report-world-cup-2022-leaked
  13. Did you people know all this stuff? Especially all that complexity over "so many links that you wouldn't expect," such as "pinch points" and pairings for police reasons and sharing of stewards? http://www.espnfc.us/english-premier-league/23/blog/post/3143770/premier-league-fixture-list-devised-by-man-named-glenn-thompson-and-his-computer
  14. Just to be precise about our early-season fixtures and Europa League -- If Everton win in the EL Third Qualifying Round, it progresses to the Play-off Round. We would play the first leg of the Play-off Round on Thurs Aug 17, followed by a Sunday match @ Man City. The second leg would be Thurs Aug 24, followed by a Sunday match @ Chelsea. If Everton progress to the EL Group Stage, we would play Matchday 1 on Thurs Sept 14, followed by a Sunday match @ Man U. A challenge, to put it mildly.
  15. Very exciting match. Surprised it ended 1-0. Congrats England U-20! Promising future for Everton lads.
  16. Should've passed to DCL earlier there. Missed good opportunity to go 2-0.
  17. I think he's had a strong WC. Don't "like" him, but I may be biased.
