  1. I think Juve will be a good match, but I am disappointed that Everton are not playing within driving distance. Buying a new house, and I don't have the extra cash for a flight and a hotel.
  2. I agree that more attractive football would have helped him, but as has been mentioned before he missed more than a few sitters, and lacks the speed to create his own chances.
  3. Neat video its worth a watch. I liked his visit with Dave Hickson. Hickson tells about scoring a header off his own corner because the wind was blowing back so hard.
  4. 2 Weeks till the Confederations Cup starts. Its good to see that the person who was responsible for inspecting the roof caused the damage. On another note I personally Tahiti pulls off the upset. http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/28/sport/football/salvador-stadium-roof-brazil-2014/
  5. If the clause is indeed in his contract then he does need to go soon. There is no question Moyes was a massive influence on his decision to stay, and with Moyes departure I think The Fro will soon follow. Hopefully we get a good deal, and can perhaps get a player in return. Fellani is well suited for any large English club, and I think he would fit in well with PSG, Zenit, Anzhi, and AC Milan. We cannot afford to have a star player unsettled. We must look to the future.
  6. South Florida Sun Sentinel claim the brackets will be announced tomorrow.
  7. Best of the options available? I personally have been impressed with Martinez since the South Africa WC when he was a studio analyst for ESPN. He offered a nice opinion and seems to have a solid vision of how player can fit together. After being gone for the (American) Holiday weekend I had hoped we would have settled on a new Manager. I did read that maybe The Mirror? had speculated Martinez could command an exit fee of £5M. If that is true then perhaps the club should look in another direction. Perhaps that's why things are yet to be settled.
  8. I'll let sleeping dogs lie, but I do wonder why he is not in Elstone's position.
  9. Cant Argue with that idea Rom. Its the peoples clubs and brand changes should offer the people some kind of choice.
  10. Every time I look at the new crest all I can think about is it looks more like a silo for grain or corn than a tower, but hey that's just my 2 cents. I hope they choose not to change it. A few years ago my uni chose to team with Nike to change the symbol, but there was a huge backlash and they reverted to the original. Following the public outcry the Athletic Director had this to say. These are the two logos. The one on the left was the Original, and the one on the right was the one they wanted to change it to.
  11. Nev-er say Nev-er. I bet he Phil'ed more than a few voids in his day.
  12. If we consider the football league I would guess 20-30 players which is pretty darn good in my mind. Hopefully some of the guys who made the provisional u20 squad will be able to make it for Everton.
  13. You can also add Hope Akpan. Made several apps for Reading after his January transfer, and will prob end up a Nigerian international.
  14. Ive not had the 30 yr, but as good as the 18 is I would imagine that would be an appropriate occasion.
  15. from wikipedia: Qualification Following an induction period, those wishing to qualify for the Pro-Licence need to undergo a year-long course which involves around 240 hours of study combining a mixture of distance learning, online learning and conference calls. Once this has been successfully completed there is a residential study week at University of Warwick.[3]"
  16. I love Nev, and think he can be a great manager because of his leadership skills, but he needs to prove himself 1st. I hope we get a younger manager who has some experience, but if we are hiring from current staff I would without question prefer Round. Hell I would prefer Round to Pulis, and pretty much any name Ive heard yet sans Martinez.
  17. Welcome aboard Gill. Gotta say I hate OSU(I went to MSU), although they do always seem to have an abundance of hotties, and one of my best friends lives in Colombus.
  18. Even if he is planning on leaving I wonder why they wouldnt at least make an offer to see what happens.
  19. I wouldnt be surprised if he succeeds Mourinho if Klopp decides to stay at Dortmund.
  20. Very ambitious vision John, and I think we all would love a new stadium, but I would imagine this is nowhere near the boards priorities at the moment. I think the most important thing now is for the club to mind a manager who can continue to give the club the stability that Mr Moyes offered. Securing our short term success can transition to our long term success. If we gain an owner who is comfortable investing large amounts of money in the club it will happen. Otherwise it is doubtful the club will gain a new stadium any time soon. John you must remember that large investments do not guarantee success. Diligent scouting and coaching are always the single largest contributors to a clubs sustained success, and though Arsenal are a financially stable club, it is not because because of their stadium. And like was mentioned above Arsenal have alienated a good portion of their hardcore fan base as a result of the stadium, and ticket prices that are no longer affordable for the average family.(This last portion is not to say that a new stadium is bad, but to "sell out" to get one is not worth it for a club like Everton)
  21. Yeah Ive felt the same way before, but this isn't a inclusive board. There is a few dominant posters, but they're pretty friendly as long as your not a twat. Welcome aboard.
  22. Ive not seen Brentford play this season, but I admit I'm intrigued by Jake Bidwells development. He has made 50 appearances for a team who is in the League 1 Playoff final in a few days. I would be disappointed if he wasn't given a chance to compete next season. I know he hasn't been as highly touted as some players, and doesn't develop on Footy Manager, but something has to be said for his appearances, and the teams performance.
