  1. I don't think I would recognize a single name on the Cardiff roster, let alone know anything about their ability. Anyone want to point out a few guys to watch out for? EDIT: Okay, I know Caulkner and Bellamy. Though I couldn't tell you much about either of their games.
  2. Martinez says that bringing Deulofeu in permanently is probably not happening but that extending the loan could be possible. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/gerard-deulofeus-everton-loan-agreement-2239041
  3. I didn't say we have squandered it. I'm just pointing it out that highlighting his price tag and implying that we have any room for sunken costs is flat-out wrong. Whether he is worth it remains to be seen.
  4. 6M for us might as well be whatever the hell Liverpool paid for Andy Carroll. We can't afford to squander five pounds, let alone 6 million.
  5. 3. He performs well here, sees no future with Tottenham with all of their bodies, and pushes for a permanent move.
  6. Don't know if he did, but we were linked to him plenty. I have a hard time imagining that, if he wanted to come here and had reasonable demands, we wouldn't have brought him in.
  7. Bet he regrets blowing us off for Tottenham.
  8. Naismith was brutal in the first half but picked it up after assisting Deulofeu's goal. Kone, though... no words. Hopefully it was Ramadan or first game jitters or something else. But I've seen some Wigan followers insist that this is typical of him. He's like our Gervinho now. Wonderful
  9. It's very clear why the hype exists but it's also very clear why Barcelona aren't ready to insert him into games yet. He definitely needs to learn when is and isn't the right time to run at the defenders vs when to release the ball a bit earlier. And he needs to learn how to protect the ball a bit better. Obviously these are things that can only be learned with experience, so I wouldn't be concerned from a long-term standpoint. Hopefully the coaching staff here can work with him on these things in the next few months and he'll be well-rounded and ready to get some first-team minutes on a consistent basis by December or January.
  10. Really couldn't give a single fuck how pretty we look in losing. I trust in Martinez and am willing to afford him time to get the team where he wants it but not because of playing style.
  11. Kone's been frustrating. Naismith has been even more frustrating up until literally the last 30 seconds of the half. He helped set up the goal but nonetheless has made some questionable decisions. I've been one of the more patient people but he's quickly losing the benefit of the doubt.
  12. You have all just discovered why I and others on here were hyped up about Deulofeu. He does things like that.
  13. Kone has to make that backpost run. Great ball by Deulofeu.
  14. Since I don't know the sources I don't know if people are showing caution over the reports because they're not to be believed or because we're all in denial
  15. Looks like we can finally kill this one off. A contract extension with the Galaxy will be announced tomorrow. A bit surprising, to be honest. I thought he would have at least considered a few offers abroad. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20130827/landon-donovan-la-galaxy/
  16. In the three whole games he played on a midseason loan. He's a starter for AS Roma and arguably the most important player for the US National team. I'd rate him above Osman and Gibson.
  17. Which is fine; you could have just laughed it off and said, "woops, my bad guys." Instead, you decided to get defensive and make misogynistic attacks.
  18. What "debate"? The part where you made shit up or the part where you became misogynistic for pretty much no reason at all? I didn't need to open up any thesaurus.
  19. I don't see what's to be confused about. He made a claim, and then when it very clearly was shitty information he resorted to ad hominem in a desperate, yet futile attempt to save face. Sad but not uncommon.
  20. Nice to actually have some depth for once. We can rest key players without fielding a bunch of castoffs and U21's. I imagine Oviedo, Deulofeu, Heitinga, and Stones will all see playing time of some sort.
  21. Coleman and Barkley are both fine choices.
  22. Frustrating. Absolutely frustrating. Completely outplayed them possession-wise and shot wise. Two balls off the woodwork. You have to think that if results will come if we continue to play like this but it's disheartening to have two points in two very winnable games.
  23. Where the hell was this urgency the last 20 minutes?
  24. The team's getting stale. Time to get some fresh legs on.
