  1. I as well think people get a bit confused with investment of clubs. They think investment in clubs will bring success. You have to remember that once the owners of clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea lose interest they will then just dump the club and buy some other club. By placing so much faith in one person to bring a club to success, it will only that same man to walk out and the club will collapse. Everton is unique as it can rely on its youth acadamy to bring in its talent while other clubs need to buy theirs. All we need to do is maintain a spot in Europe and we will get success.

i dont think we need investment, but we do need a more "suitable" owner.

and also, we have got a good reputation for our academy. but look at our first team, we bought most of it! we do need to rely on buying players to improve in the short term

  2. My mate works at the club and he's quite up in the ranks there so he hears little tidbits of information now and then. And anyway he says that Everton have made an appraoch for Raul of Real Madrid and Julio Baptista also of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid have allowed the club to to talk to the players and hopefully with all things going well in just a matter of days Everton could be announcing two massive signings.

that is my favorite rumour in the history of football!

  3. The problem is trying to get the fuckers to sing, Evertonians seem to think they're "too cool" so sing new tunes and the range of what is sung these days is getting narrower by the season.

I got rite pissed off last season when I was told to sit down trying to get the crowd behind the team. The people who want to sit in the Gwladys to be part of the atmosphere but refuse to sing when the cips are down and dont join in with new songs realy piss me off, it'll be like the kop in there soon a rendition of "grand old team" at the start of the game and then nothing until we score!

i know what you mean mate, it gets more frustrating when you see that atmosphere we create at away games.

  4. never rated hughes myself. if he was good enough a bigger club would have been interested

lol While I do think its a little unfair I still think you may be a little wide of the mark as well.

I was just thinking of some of our so called transfer targets ie Joey Barton & Phil Jag for a start!

moyes wasnt around when barton and jags were released mate!

  5. I cant realy see it being paddy either but having said that you know what moyes is like with youngsters he just overlooks talent all the fuckin time!

I hope it's not Ruddy eithar as word from the training fround is he's better than Turner by a country mile!

think thats a little unfair mate. young players have got their chance, the ones that havent, who have been sold, i cant think of any who has made the grade back up to prem level

  6. Central Midfield + Left Midfield would be what my priority would be

before manny came on loan did anyone really think much about us NEEDING a central midfielder?

we have cars (a year left in him yet) neville (i regard him highly, even if im on my own) cahill (one of the best midfielders in the league imo) osman (decent squad player) and lets not forget, arteta was brought in as a central midfielder. its out wide we have the problems. we need more balance, we dont have one left footed midfield player in contension for a starting place

lets take a look at our left back slot, we have nuno (very capable player, when he can stay fit, and getting on a bit) naysmith (a squad player at best) paddy boyle (highly regarded at the club as an up and coming player, but just missed a big part of his development with back injuries) we need a left back who can stick around for 5 or so years

  7. imo we do the hoofing up the park when under pressure, when we arent under pressure we normally play a simple ball, usually trying to find micky!

but im more than happy with this, a couple of years ago when yobo was trying to "play football" we were all thinking why the fuck didnt he just hoof the ball up the park.

i thought we were a good footballing side last season

  8. Out of interest did City buy Barton or has he been there since the youth stage?

i think he went to city when we released him.

and on this contract thing, im with mark and liam, they either rip up his contract and fire him for gross mis-contuct, or they sell the asset and abide by their own contract and pay his selling on fee

  9. id be happy to see Hibbo line up at RB when the new season kicks off, and ill be just as happy if Neville is in our midfield, i believe we have more important parts of the team to be strengthend, like a left back and a left footed winger imo

  10. ^ exactly

id like him here....but at 60k, he doesn't have the experience, we aren't a team to offer 60k to anyone we want in, never mind someone completely unproven

i wouldnt say hes completely unproven. not played in the prem, but consistently performs well in the CL and internationally is good enough for me, esp on a free!

  11. Its taking the risk though isnt it. We dont it with Cahill n Lescott so hopefully the same will happen with him

your right heather, we did take the risks, but they were much cheaper risks.

cahill was a snip, lescotts depends alot on him staying injury free and progressing. imo i still think its a risk worth taking, but id be upset to pay more than £6m
