  1. We are spending so much money on the youngsters until they are eighteen. I think every academy year costs you £1 million. You get them at eighteen and we need to make a decision on who is going to be a professional, at eighteen! Then it is so easy that they think, ‘I am a professional’ now I can act like Rodallega or Titus Bramble, when really, at eighteen, we should put them in a position at eighteen, through to twenty-one where they really need to earn professional status. This is what impressed me, I think that Akpan would have been an okay player given the chance. Did anybody watch him at Reading against Chelsea he got 2 assists. Ok they were a bit lucky at the same time but he was in the right positions. Also the fact he said if Wigan sold a player they wouldn't buy 1 player who is 28-30 years old they would buy a few players to improve the squad. This impressed me also. If he can do what he did at Wigan then good times ahead I think.
  2. I wouldn't say Rooney (Lazy), Nani (Hogger) , Rafael (Clueless) and Evra (Out of breath) are that quick to be honest. Also wouldn't say that Ekotto, Kaboul are quick either. Baines is quicker than Ekotto. Coleman is quicker than all of the united players you mentioned as well.
  3. Victor Moses is a good player. He hasn't really had a chance to prove himself at Chelsea. Would love him to come to Everton.
  4. John Terry made the name up, didn't he? Havent you seen the picture of him taking credit?
  5. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2022332/Chris-Brunt-signs-year-contract-extension-West-Brom.html It says Brunt has agreed terms on a three-year contract extension, plus a further season's option in the club's favour, potentially taking him up to the end of the 2014-2015 campaign. What does plus a further seasons option in the clubs favour mean?!
  6. Yeah I know but I think Malouda would still be able to compete at PL level. I would prefer Malouda to Arshavin even though there both planks.
  7. Anybody think we should bid for Lescott as he only has one more year left on his contract. 5mil anyone? http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics_GB1_2014.html We need to look at players who have 1 year left on their contract as well. Get them cheaper.
  8. I would like Simpson at the club but again it is his attitude I don't like but could be wrong though. If we could afford his wages I would like Malouda at the club. (Don't like his attitude either but think he would add something else to our lineup) Even Arshavin up to a point. (I know he is a lazy a££ but if Martinez could get him to use some energy now and again then why not?)
  9. Rather get Alcaraz on a free than Shawcross who is massively over prized.
  10. That's what I think as well but I don't think he is as good as people have made out. He played well against Arsenal but in other games he looks like he can't play football at times. Heavy touches, tries to much and 70% of the time doesn't work out. I have to put my hat of to him though every game I have watched him play in he has worked his socks off. If he can keep that up then he will feature this term deffo.
  11. Nobody cares about Porto anymore ;-). If he was that good he would have signed a new contract. AVB is a lot better than him.
  12. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2013/jun/05/everton-roberto-martinez-five-issues Number 3 is spot on
  13. I reckon a lot of people at the club has got a release clause of one kind or another. Fellaini is supposedly 24mil. It was like Dirk Kuyt to Fenerbache, if a european club gave 1mil he could leave. I think he was in his final year or expired though. Do you think they have a clause like that in Heitinga contract.
  14. He did his groin in on international duty and needed surgery.
  15. He had a good game against Arsenal but apart from that when he has been playing he looks a bit scared sometimes. Heavy touches, wild tackles. This comes with confidence and if he is given game time next season then lets hope we can see him blossom but not just yet anyway.
  16. You can't build a team around Barkley he isn't a proven youngster. If anything we should be building a team around Fellaini, Baines, Jelavic.
  17. I don't want him. Mirallas, Pienaar and Coleman are good enough. If we were going to get someone I want to get someone who has had more than one good season. Do you think if Martinez got hired last season we would have signed McClean from Sunderland as he had a stormer? This season he has played avarage.
  18. 1-3 players is all we need. I don't want us to buy loads of players and then cause the morale to go down. How many times has that happened with clubs. Thinking I will get 5-7 players in, oh wait where playing ru$$ish. If we buy to many players then it will disrupt what we have going now.
  19. If Fellaini goes I would like us to go back to Fer again. Anyway going back to the topic. I am excited about the prospect of Martinez being Everton manager and see what he does in the transfer market. Has anybody from our scouting network gone to United? If not then we can still get a few gems.
  20. Fenerbahce are a club who like to pay peanuts for a player. We were arguing about Yobo for ages on end. They got Kuyt for like 1mil as he had a release clause in his contract that he could go to another foreign club for 1mil. They spent 8mil on Mirrelles but can't fork out 5-7mil for Heitinga?
  21. It is a shame though as he is worth more than that. I wish if Heitinga wasn't part of Moyes plans last season that we got rid of him then. Why do we leave it until the last year of their contract to say....where not sure about you, will you sign a new contract? Heitinga obviously wasn't going to sign a new contract with not playing a lot of games this season. I admire that about a footballer though, he could have signed a new contract and thought I will sit on the bench and get paid but instead he wants to move to a club where he can play regular football.
  22. Anybody else watching the press conference? ----------- Kenwright said that Moyes first words were we are not going down and Martinez first words were he will get us in the champions league. A confident manager. Moyes has done wonders for our club and where not in a bad way anymore. We have the squad to get into the champions league or at least europe. Lets hope he does get us in there
  23. I know but if it is true that United are selling Evra and planning a 10mil bid. Moyes would know what release clause is in every single contract. I reckon Baines has a release clause just don't know how much.
  24. Everton chairman Bill Kenwright: "I'll give him a few quid to sign a few players. We all know the situation at Everton, we all know that that there are players with release clauses but they are not for sale. "We don't want them to go. Not one person had even half-indicated to me that the change will mean a change for them - exactly the opposite, they all seem totally committed to it. I'm confident that the squad plus some Roberto signings will form the squad for next season." ---------------------- I wonder what he means by saying a few quid and it is worrying about the release clauses. I reckon it is Fellaini and Baines. Felli - 24mil and Baines - 10mil. Uh oh!
