  1. The prices of players nowadays is outrageous and over the odds. Everton seem to be the only club that don't ask for over the odds for players. Arteta was worth more than 10mil, played well for Arsenal this year. Rodwell worth more than 10mil. Compared to Henderson, Downing, Fletcher, Jarvis etc. Rodwell to me is better than those 4. I know Fletcher plays in different position.
  2. I wish we got him on loan this season. I think we could have done with his 17 goals and think he would have worked well with Felli. All IFs and BUTs. He would have been the difference between 5th and 6th place.
  3. That is what I think he is worth 10-15mil at the most. He is young, talented and if Sturridge can go to Liverpool for 12mil then surely they would let Lukaku go for 10-15mil. All depends who they buy this transfer market. If they are proven strikers then they will probably let him go as he won't want to be a bench warmer. The only problem is Chelsea paid 20mil (10mil plus add ons) from Anderlecht for him and doubt they would accept 10mil. I am just basing it on what I think he is worth that's all.
  4. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2335416/Jose-Mourinhos-transfer-targets-Chelsea.html How many times have we heard this.......Lukaku has already been told he isn't going back out on loan. So basiccaally if someone offers 10mil for him then they will accept it.
  5. Good apointment - the obvious choice. We could have gone for Mackay but with no PL experience it was a bit of a risk. Plus Laudrup would cost more in compensation than what Martinez did and he has only had one good season. Let's see how he does next season if clubs come in and buy his players. Pardrew did great in his first season at Newcastle - even was in contention for the England job at one point and then this season lucky to escape relegation. Martinez has a good mind for football. Can get players on the cheap...
  6. In the 2008-2009 season at Swansea didn't he only lose four games out of 30? Ok it was in the championship but one, he got them promoted into the championship and two he lost 4 out of 30. He had a better defence at Swansea and he will have a good defence at Everton so stop worrying
  7. Yeah, don't see him going to United as don't think they need him plus can't see him fitting in their team. Chelsea the other hand are a different team who like to have strong players plus can see him being a DM at Chelsea where he plays better. Hope we get 30 million for him and buy someone like Fer or McCarthey from Wigan.
  8. Ossie has played well in the games he has played this season. He have always admired him, I think it was instead one of the players who they didn't want to turn their back on. Like Hibbo. They have been there that long why not let them finish their careers at Everton. Ossie is a good player though and I am happy he has signed a new contract.
  9. I have seen this linked somewhere else but can only find it on the most reliable wesbite going :-/. (Will try and find another link) http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/315562Manchester-United-boss-David-Moyes-plans-swoop-for-Everton-midfielder-Ross-BarkleyManchester-United-boss-David-Moyes-plans-swoop-for-Everton-midfielder-Ross-Barkley I don't think there is any truth in it as I don't think Moyes believes in Barkley as much as Rooney but saying that Barkley could shine at a club like United with the players at their peril. It wouldn't be a great loss but if he did go to United then obviously Moyes would believe in the lad.
  10. Can you blame him for not signing a contract though? Like you say he won player of the season last season and this season he has been a bench warmer. Least he isn't one of these players who are happy to sit on the bench and get paid for it. (I know they have do training) Maybe when the new manager comes in he will look at him and go okay, good player. He might sign a new contract but first wants to see if he plays or not. Last season he was being linked to City, this season......nobody as yet. I don't think Moyes liked his attitude because why else wouldn't you play him?
  11. Now that a new manager is coming in I can see him staying. At least until January, that way if he doesn't get chances he can go. All depends what manager we get in and whether they can motivate him enough to get his confidence back. Last season he got some lucky goals and goals that were great. Like his first against United, the timing, the strength, the accuracy. I do believe last season as well he had better deliveries. Don't get me wrong he has missed some sitters this season but I reckon if we don't hoof the ball up to Felli all the time that he will be a striker who gets 10-20 goals a season. Mark my words!
  12. It is hard to say really. Neville is a great leader and great motivator but whether he will be a good manager is another question. If I am honest I reckon it is going to be another plan of SAF to get him at United and get him trained up. SAF will take him under his wing and he will be the next united manager in decades to comes ;-)
  13. What do you mean another one of these? We have never really taken risks with players....Fer we didn't buy because of a failed medical. I know people mention it but Ba failed a medical at Stoke because of his knee. Went to West Ham and played well, then went to Newcastle and played better. If he is given a chance he performs. You need to take risks in football, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I think everybody gets someone who is injury prone. Do you remember Van Der Meyde? Rodwell?
  14. Has anybody else got the feeling now that Mourinho is back at Chelsea that he will sign Fellaini. He hasn't made it a secret at his time at Real that he was an admirer of him. Plus Chelsea need someone who is strong in midfield and can hold the ball. I think Felli fits those plans. Probably see tomorrow, Jose first signings will be that striker from Bayern and Fellaini haha.
  15. I wish they would make an annoucement soon. It will be July 1st when Moyes officialy leaves that we will make an annoucement. Gets on my nerves sometimes though how slow we are at annoucing news or transfer etc.
  16. It is alright Fer saying he would move to Everton but do you remember Ofoe, he said I want to come to Everton but no contact had been made since. Well not what we know off.
  17. Bit of a rediculous comment to make. "Anybody can win a cup". Say that to the 17 managers in the PL at the moment. Obviously where a nobody as where not an anybody then. No matter what people say everybody have set there minds on Pereira who has had no experience in the PL. Yeah his record is good, but the set of players he had at his expence. They have sold two of the key players this season. Plus the likes of hulk last season. Lets see how they do next season. Martinez or Mackay aren't bad shouts - both have done well at their clubs.
  18. To me McManaman wouldn't fit into the Everton squad. If we got him then someone on the wing would have to give up the position. Okay Pienaar hasn't played briilliantly this year but he has played good enough to keep his spot and Mirallas is better on the wing than being a striker. I just don't think he would fit in our plans. I would like to see how he does in the championship first.
  19. Don't we play Juventus and if we get through then play Real Madrid or LA Galaxy? I thought if we get knocked out then that's it only one team we play? I couldbe wrong
  20. No, No, No and No! I don't mind about Martinez, in fact I will welcome him at Goodison and hopes he does us proud. Good manager and I am happy about this. I do not want Callum McManaman, there is a reason he is a everton reject. He hasn't even had a good season, was anybody really up his ar$e until he scored in two FA cups, once against us. Ok he did play well against City but come on Clichy isn't exactly the best LB. If you compare Coleman to McManaman in the City game who came out on top? Coleman came out on top. We have Pienaar, Coleman, Mirallas who can all play on the wings and I do not want us to have to pay 5-10 mil for a person we didn't want in the first place.
  21. I think that is the best possible answer. We need someone who can get fired up and we all know the likes of Neville or Dunc can, even Weir. I would like either Neville or Weir as assistant though as both defenders and that is where Martinez was weak at Wigan.
  22. Do you think Martinez would have resigned from Wigan if he knew he wasn't certain to get the Everton job? I just think why would you resign from Wigan if you haven't got another job lined up? If he doesn't get this one then I think he will get the Malaga job anyway.
  23. Why do you want Pareira anyway? It isn't exactly like Porto stormed the Portuguese league this year. They scored a last minute goal against Benfica, if they drew then Benfica would have won it.
  24. People are picking the Porto coach but guys anyone could do that job with the players they have. It isn't like he has bought any players, he has just inherited them. AVB had a great set of players at Chelsea but just couldn't motivate them. It isn't like Porto produce the next best managers. Everybody who is picking him, he has no PL experience. No disrespect to the Portuguese league but who is their competition except from Benfica? PL is totally different. Style of play, passing. I bet if he came and did a bad job you would all change your mind and go why didn't we pick Martinez, kenwright has made a mess of it again. Well if it does come down to it and he does listen to the fans and picks the Porto manager least he won't have anything to worry about as he can say, I listened to fans. Yes there is taking a risk but I would rather a manager who has PL experience....Like Martinez. AVB has done well at spurs but it has taken him a season to do it.
  25. No it isn't a reason to see him. Torres is another example of a player who hasn't got a lot of confidence but recently he has been proving himself. He still isn't a shadow of what he was but still. Jelavic hasn't had as many good deliveries as he had last season. Don't know why, I think it might be Moyes tactic in Fellaini. We can only tell next season with a new manager different tactics whether he will become confident again.
