  1. Haha this did make me laugh. I don't think we would ever lose a manager to Stoke who we are interviewing as well. If a manager had a choice between us or Stoke I think they would choose Everton even with a limited budget.
  2. So what do you class as a good manager? Moyes didn't win a trophy in 11 years in charge at Everton. Rafa went to Inter and got sacked within a couple of months. Went to Chelsea and in my opinion done a good job. AVB went to Chelsea got sacked, went to Spurs and has done wel (okay anyone with Bale in the team is bound to do well). Moyes could go to United and it could go t1ts up for him, does that mean he isn't a good manager!? United supporters are very ambitious and they have a right to be, there will be a lot of presssure on Moyes but I think he can handle it. Hughes is an okay manager for the likes of Stoke, Fulham, Blackburn who don't really have any ambitions except for finishing in the top of the table. He went to QPR and I can expect the board wanting the impossible. Hughes didn't get given enough time at QPR. I wouldn't like him at Everton, not because he isn't an good manager because we expect so much more from our team that I don't think he could handle it. Martinez isn't a rubbish manager, why would Kenwright be interviewing him if he is!? It is all good and well looking at his record and saying he isn't good but have you watched any games. I like watching Wigan they play good football. The only thing that lets them down is defence. We have got defender coaches and with the likes of Jags, Heit, Distin and Duffy we will never be a Wigan.
  3. I think we will only get Fer if Fellaini goes to be honest. Gibson is a player who can pass looks for the pass. Fellaini is a player who is strong, good passer, header and quick on the ball. Fer is also a simalar player to Felli. If we get him in the summer does that mean Gibbo would be playing less games as they both play in the same positions.
  4. You do make Pereira sound better, saying 2 seasons 1 defeat and 2 league titles. Then under Martinez 176 games 51 won 1 FA Cup and 1 relegation. Did you mention how much the squads are worth together? Porto have a great set of players. Wigan on the other hand, a lot of their players were injured this season as well and losing the likes of Moses, Rodellaga, N'Zogbia is going to be a blow for any side. Who did they get to replace them? Kone? They didn't have anyone who was good on the wings except di santo but even he had a lowsy touch. Everton have Pienaar, Mirallas, Coleman, Osman who are better than any of the Wigan wingers. I don't class McManaman as a good winger, he minced Gibbs a couple of times in the City game but Gibbs isn't exactly the greatest LB in the world. Yakubu could have done the same to Gibbs and he turns slower than a tank. I think Martinez stands out more than Pereira. He can get his players motivated. The only problem is that you don't see him angry enough. I can see Martinez going after the Arsenal game after getting relegated saying, we had a good run, we were unlucky. Difference with Moyes is if we lost to Arsenal 4-1 he would have let the team know. Martinez is to nicey nice for me.
  5. Haha are you a Kenwright hater? Do you want to see him go down for fraud? Imagine that though he puts all Evertons money in a complete outsider at massive odds and makes us millions. Someone from league 2 or lower, but he should get someone to do it in every betting shop ever to exist. That way he would get millions for winning and then be able to pay all the bookies, WilliamHill, BetFred, and still have loads of money left. That is a great idea. Well done, get on the phone to Kenwright NOW!
  6. I don't think CB is our real weakness. We need CM - strong, good passer and good touch. Unfortunately a player like this will cost us 10-15mil unless our scouts are amazing and find a bargain. ST - Jelavic just isn't stepping up to the plate and Anichebe is not consistent against top defenders. Weaker teams like QPR, Villa, Sunderland he is untouchable at times. Against the like of united, city, chelsea he looks rubbish. So I would like us to buy a new CM and a new ST in this transfer market.
  7. No need to worry because by the rumours in the papers today if we are getting Martinez then we are getting half the Wigan squad as well. Kone 6.5 million. Alcaraz - free agent. McCarthey, Maloney and that winger who got released by Everton because he wasn't good enough. I know it winny wanny but it does make me laugh. ------------------------ I would like to see Duffy step up to the plate. Martinez will be the person who gives him a chance more. I would like to see a decent CB but can't see us buying one for under 10 million. If we want a person who is going to fit in the EPL straight away it will probably cost 10mil or more. I would like to see McCarthey from Wigan to replace the big man tbh, good passer but he isn't the strongest going. If he does go then I would like to see us go for Fer again as well. I have watched Fer a couple of times and he is strong, good on the ball and would give defenders a tough time. Just his touch sometimes lets him down.
  8. Did anybody else have a sense of relieve when Hughes was linked to the Stoke job? When I heard I begged it to be true and then Stoke and Hughes confirmed talks it was a relieve to say the least.
  9. Have you seen the rules of the fair play league? http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/matchday/fair-play-calculation.html How Liverpool are above us, I don't know. One, most of their players like to dive, two, their players always goes up to the referee to argue. Mostly Gerrard tbh. I'm sorry but anyone with Gerrard and Suarez in their team would no way be 3rd in the league. That isn't me being bias because I am an Everton fan either.
  10. I reckon we should step up on the cloning process take a sample from Moyes and make a Moyes.Mk2. In all seriousness we won't get a manager like that, them points describes David Moyes. Kenwright knows what he is doing but unfortunately I think we will be going through a few managers in the next couples of years. if we get someone I want Kenwright to say we will give you a 2 year contract if you prove yourself you get an extension. Or alternatively we will wait for Moyes to go on July 1st wait a couple of weeks and then bring a manager in just before the pre season.
  11. I reckon we get whoever the other teams are interested in. City are liking that Malaga manager "the engineer". I say we hijack that deal and then have Martinez as assistant and Rafa as backroom staff. ;-)
  12. Just had a read through "the engineer's" bio and managerial career and have to say he does seem like a good manager. If City get him then United are going to struggle next season. Real Madrid came out and said they would have kept him but the chance to get Mourinho in was to big of a oppuritny to miss
  13. These are the odds at the moment for the manager job. Top 20. Roberto Martinez 15/8 Neil Lennon 7/2 Gus Poyet 8/1 Alan Stubbs 16/1 Vitor Pereira 20/1 Malky Mackay 20/1 Mark Hughes 20/1 Duncan Ferguson 22/1 Phil Neville 25/1 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 25/1 David Weir 28/1 Stuart McCall 28/1 Rafael Benitez 33/1 Martin O'Neill 40/1 Michael Laudrup 40/1 Harry Redknapp 40/1 Dougie Freedman 40/1 Martin Jol 40/1 Roberto Di Matteo 50/1 Steve Clarke 50/1 Roberto Martinez record - better defenders at Everton though http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/managers/profile.overview.html/roberto-martinez Michael Laudrup - 40/1 - http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/managers/profile.overview.html/michael-laudrup Mark Hughes - Just for shits and giggles http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/managers/profile.overview.html/mark-hughes Harry Redknapp compared to Hughes - bare in mind Redknapp shits money up the walls whenever he can. http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/clubs/managers/profile.overview.html/harry-redknapp
  14. I would love Lukaku at Everton. I think him and Jela would link up well together. Unfortunately not going to happen, if Chelsea loan him out again it will be to a Spanish side I reckon.
  15. I know some MU fans and they reckon they don't need Baines. Fair enough, they have Evra and that other one now. Forgot his name. I don't even think Fellaini would fit in the style of play of United. He is a different sort of player to the ones they have at the moment, and besides who would he replace....Carrick? Who has had a stormer this season. (I know Fellaini is better than Carrick) Fellaini isn't consistent either, have his good games and bad, then willl have a winge is we aren't playing well. If he does go he will go to a more physical team.
  16. Do Wigan have a defensive coach? I read somewhere that they don't....trying to find the link but can't seem to find it now. At Everton we have a good defense that isn't a problem.........for now. Howard and Jags can organize the that part anyway.
  17. Not a chance. Kind of pointless creating a thread as nothing will come from it.
  18. Mancini is an okay manager at the best. City are the ones who bought Augero, Silva. Mancini I don't think had a say that much. Yeah I do know what this thread is meant to be about, it will be an interesting season next season. Chelsea won't win the league under Mourinho. City will come 3rd maybe 4th. All depends which manager they get in. If it is the one who is rumoured then 4th place. Chelsea 2nd, Arsenal 3rd and United 1st.
  19. I don't think everyone thinks the sun shines out of his arse. I know some Wigan fans who can't wait to get him out the door...like some people on here calling for Moyes to go. He is a nice guy, respected as well. It like the skysports presenter said yesterday. They were gutted, but Wigan this year has been a team that a neutral fan loves to watch because they have played attractive football this season. If he stays as manager then I reckon he will get Wigan up next season, that is if loads of players don't leave.
  20. This won't happen. There will be rumours starting from July 1st when Moyes takes over at MU and they will be linked to Everton and then the occasional Ronaldo, Lewondoski etc. 10 million would be a reasonable price to be honest with you. 30 years old but still at the top of his game. Maybe 15 million.
  21. Yeah but look at the players he had, Martinez came in and they were sold already. Valencia, Cattermole, Bramble. Plus this year and the last Wigan have lost Zogbia, Moses, Rodellaga. Some key players who if they were there might have made a difference. I know all IFs and BUTS but this year he has had a more limited squad than last.
  22. Laudrup would be my 3rd choice to be honest with you. He has had one good season in the PL we will see what sort of manager he is next season. Newcastle also had a good season last season and finished 5th. Do you think last season if we were in this position and Pardrew hadn't signed his 8 year contract we would be considering him? Porto manager I wouldn't want, Porto have a great squad and can spend money in the transfer market when needed. We have a limited squad compared. For me it would be Martinez or Mackay - the only problem with Martinez is he is an attacking side and not really good at defending.
  23. The people I would like to take over from Moyes is Martinez, Mackay, Laudrup. Martinez - I like the way Wigan plays. How he can get his players motivated when he needs to, how he has a good relationship with his chairman. Wigan are also a club with very little money, okay, they are going to get relegated but we have a better side than Wiagn so lets see what he can do with our team. Mackay - Took over from Rodgers at Watford, had a difficult season but kept them in the championship. Moved onto Cardiff, first season got them to the league cup final, losing out to the sh1te and just falling out of the playoff zone. This season finished 1st. Would be a perfect candidate. Laudrup - Had a brilliant season as Swansea but the problem is he isn't very motivated. He has come out and said that himself. If things are going well for him he sticks it out. Not very ambitious if you ask me.
  24. I agree, It is the last home game but when he came out saying I want to win the next two games, my focus is on getting as high up the league as possible. I was thinking ok, so players are going to listen to you now since they know you are leaving them. Hope I am wrong and the Everton players think, lets give him a send off he deserves at Goodison Park and play good football, but we will only find out when the whistle blows and the fans reaction (Cheering or Jeering) on Sunday 15:00.
  25. I wish Moyes all the best at Utd. I hope he does do well, everyone for years have said wonder what he can do with a transfer budget but he won't have a say in it for a few years. United have already got people in mind that they want to buy, so even if Moyes said. I want Fellaini and Baines they would probably say no. Might take him a while to get into the game but I reckon he will do well, besides SAF will be pulling the strings as he is going to be the master master puppeteer. SAF will still run the club until he is comfortable enough to let go and trust Moyes completely.
