Shut up, Steve, we don't need to replace him!
he was bought for europa league filler that's it man. give it a rest, once we were out he wasn't even on the bench (cause he was just squad filler!). if he was that important we wouldn't be shopping him.
-
Osman is a player who is at his best when in the center of the park. Also, like Pienaar, he has had questionable fitness recently and is getting on in age, though he is certainly still effective when healthy.
If worst comes to worst, I'm sure we can recall Joe Yobo from his perpetual loan spell in Turkey and stick him on the wing. Wait, what? We finally sold Yobo?
lol we still have francisco junior on the books

As Ten would say; BOOM, motherfucker.
You can't let a player go and then just use what we already have to fill in. Our squad is pretty woeful after the first 11 as is. McGeady hasn't been great but that doesn't mean you don't need to replace him!
yes you can mother fucker!! that squad was for europa so we had extra bodies, won't need them this year, so losing 1 player won't kill us amigo. especially when it's a guy who was a healthy scratch for half the season.
Neither Oviedo nor Osman are particularly threatening on the wing, in my opinion, regardless of whether the manager has chosen to play them there in the past. Gareth Barry has filled in at leftback for us, but it doesn't mean I'd want to see him there except for in an emergency.
not sure which everton you watch, osman is a solid bench player who doesn't get his due. his trickery, footwork, and quick shot are great assets. 20 apps 2 goals, mcgeady 16 apps 1 goal. not to mention he links up well with baines. not sure where you'd rather play him, he's not a 10 and wasn't great in central midfield with moyes. i don't need oviedo to be threatening, mcgeady isn't threatening so why does his replacement have to be? he defends and works his ass off, like a poor man's lennon, puts in a good cross.
to each his own but it's hilarious romey and the like slate mcgeady year round and he might leave and they get all teary eyed.

the only one of those players who is a winger is Pienaar, and he's been having near-constant fitness issues for two years. I'm sorry, but we need a squad of more than 16 players. As for McGeady, I would absolutely sell him as long as we have plans to bring in another winger, even if it's another guy who is certain not to be a first eleven regular. McGeady just hasn't worked out. He has all the tricks and ability to be a top player, but he is just mentally too slow for the pace of the Premiership. He's a guy who can be an ace in a lesser/slower paced league, hell, I'd even see him doing well in Spain, but not in the Premiership. He's the winger version of Bilyaletdinov: Great tools/skills, but not physical enough or mentally quick enough for this league
osman was used on the wing exclusively last year, oviedo played midfield as well. both are able to do a better job than mcgeady regardless of position listed on the website.

You need bench warmers though. Otherwise you come unstuck when players get injured plus he'll need to be replaced by another bench warmer. He's ok as someone who can fill in when needed or for a 10 minute cameo. £1m is far too cheap and we'd have made a loss on that in just over 18 months. He's worth £3m all day long and I'm sure he'd do a lot better in Scotland
osman, pienaar, oviedo, naisy, kone. 5 players that are bench players that could take that position. don't need him mate.
-
Taking into account wages saved for a benchwarmer, 1m is fine by me
exactly. and its a better move for him, he will play regularly for a club he is revered at.
-
neil lennon, fat sam, moyes all being mentioned as possible replacements. my money is on fat sam.

romelu sucks, didn't play kone and mcgeady enough (world beaters) and my car is a beater but if i put good oil in it its like a ferrari right?
on the wind up
-
Good job you're not the manager then.
jimmy the kit man could replace him. a fast person who can't cross or defend, sounds like a body not a player.
-
honestly with this contract he's 2nd LB, oviedo will be either LM or on his way out. i think oviedo could be decent on the wing though, hopefully he gets healthy and can give Kev a rest once in a while.
-
As long as we replace him it'd be a good deal.
i don't need a replacement, he can go and i will welcome it.
-
stoke for 12m pounds, we could've easily been in the mix. come on xherdan, say no and come to us
-
hell yes!!
-
Cabaye looks like he's on his way to Palace, which would be an incredible coup for them .
Yes sad really. Such a player and just because pardew can speak some French he's partial to him. Would love him here, he'd be worth every cent.

Great news dunc!!
-
Great news! Now off to Norwich or villa or something.
-
Aren't they both predominantly RW? If Mirallas goes to fit him in, I think we'd be playing one them slightly out of position.
Kev or shaquiri could play the 10.
-
We beat Germany 2-0 on to the finals!
-
I know he's had an injury, but I'm all out of faith. If Rom isn't playing I think Naismith is much more effective.
i still have faith but i completely agree that naisy should be 2nd choice and kone 3rd.
-
Leicester have sacked Nigel Pearson. Weird!
they are quickly becoming in the qpr/cardiff realm of newly promoted teams, aka laughing stock. maybe they found out he was involved in the malaysia fiasco with his son (even wierder). i hope they go down honestly.
-
if he's in mirallas is out i think.

Big match tonight against Germany. I'm hoping for

What went wrong in 2014/15?

roberto and the players.
roberto
playing barkley on the wing
playing naisy on the wing
playing barry too much and exhausting him
not playing youngsters enough (besic, garbutt, robles)
sticking with favorites (tim howard, gareth barry)
not being flexible with formations and subs
bad tactics and uber possession
no creative player #10 yet using a system that requires such a person
players
jags started out like crap
tim howard forgot how to play football
kevin mirallas hasn't gone a season without mid/large injuries
ross barkley getting his confidence shot on the wing and regressing
aiden mcgeady not knowing that you're supposed to pass to OUR team, not the others
major injuries (osman, pienaar, mccarthy, stones, baines, coleman, lukaku, kev, ross, alcaraz, distin, gibson), holy crap our whole team was injured
the good
romelu lukaku is a beast of a man and soon to be world beater, 20 goals
roberto finally gave up the possession and went more direct (yea!!)
we didn't get relegated (woot woot)
stones is even more of a beast than he was before injury
phil jagielka grew a pair of balls and became the captain we all wanted him to be (and played really well after starting slow)
luke garbutt proved he is the LB of the future
we got pretty far in europa league (farther than other english teams) and had a decent cup run
i'm very positive for 2015/2016, vault me we will win a trophy
