I'm afraid United could still be coming in for Bainesy in January. It's clear that they insisted on getting a left back in. They tried to get Baines until the last day of the window and when it was made clear to them that wasn't happening, they tried to get Coentrao in on loan. Real wanted Siqueira as his replacement, but when the Coentrao deal fell through he signed for Benfica. So now United haven't got their left back in and Real won't let Coentrao go unless they get a replacement and their first choice isn't available anymore.
true, i hope we get a long term deal hashed out before jan, so he's saying put and it should quell the rumours.

Must agree dude, thought he may do better after his preseason work but................................ on another point,MJB, are you a Jazz Bassist, or Play a Fender Jazz? ( like me!) Just curious dude
yeah i've got a 69 fender jazz (lake placid blue that turned to sherwood green) with TI jazz flats. it's a funk machine.

biggest disappointment of the window, we still have this guy

2 questions
a. how much money does a team get if they win the cup?
b. how much money does a team get if they qualify for europa?
trying to see how much of a boon winning it is.

great move. i think lukaku will be the starter and kone will come on as a super sub. jelavic will get some FA and capital one cup time and then be shipped out in january. he doesn't fit the RM style, if we could get 6m for Anichebe, we should be able to salvage something for Jela.

i agree steve. great job by martinez in identifying players he wanted, and honestly great job BK and the board for getting them and getting great prices for fellaini (i thought we'd get 25 max) and anichebe (6 mil? wow). i can't wait till the jan window to see what we do with the 10-15mil.

i wonder if this will affect the deal

i'd rather take zaha over chicharito. he's looked horrid in recently.

Fellaini on the brink of sealing £25m switch to Manchester United
We knew we hadn't heard the last of Marouane Fellaini tonight and Sportsmail understands it appears that a £25million switch from Everton to Manchester United is 'on the brink' of being completed.

i don't think he'll go to west brom. they're looking to buy anichebe for a long term solution. i think after last year lukaku carried them the whole way and they didn't want to rely on him again.
-
Progress being made according to Vinnie O'Connor.
good, him and lukaku in, with anichebe out is pretty decent

Told there is a "strong possibility" of Victor Anichebe joining WBA tonight. Everton needed another striker even before that potential deal.

Ever get the feeling this was a smokescreen to get Whelan to move and lower the asking price on McCarthy?
yes, hopefully it worked, although it looks to have failed.

i was wondering why martinez subbed naismith in the first couple fixtures, maybe he was putting him in the shop window. i'd love to see this guy gone.

Leighton Baines has joined up with the England squad at St George's Park. The chances he will be making the move to Old Trafford now look more remote than ever after Everton owner Bill Kenwright made clear he wasn't interested in any more offers for the left-back. It would take a considerably larger fee from anything Manchester United have offered before to prise him away from Goodison and at this stage that looks unlikely to happen.
Taken from the Liverpool Echo.
Looks like Baines is staying, so glad

Oh geez. I've read so many articles today - I shall have to retrace my steps! Was it the Daily Fail?
