  1. Id rather we took Sebastian Larsson off their hands. Can be used as RB, RM ans CM. Good passer of the ball, great freekicks (to add to our impressive freekick taking hoard, Baines, Barkley and Mirallas, no one would want to concede a freekick near the home goal.)

Both would have to sit on the bench anyway

i'd love to have larsson here

Sebastian Larsson? That must be a wind up. He's shocking. I'd take Johnson any day of the week over him.

  2. I refer to my previous comment: though mostly as substitute, STILL 38 games. And you can argue all you want about his role at Man City, his game was a lot better then than it is now at Sunderland, where he plays all the time. In my opinion, AJ needs to be surrounded by ambition and a team worthy of his great talent. EFC fits the bill better than Sunderland. With a head coach like Roberto Martinez in a system like EFC, where he'll get a good bit of competition from Mirallas, Barkley, Pienaar and McGeady (and Gerry) behind the striker, I think we'll see the good old AJ surface again, though he's already showing bits of it in the past few games.

Which is exactly what I said, when he turned up for City he was absolute quality. The fact that no matter how well he performed there he found himself on the bench. Which is why I'm saying Mancini ruined him.

  3. Not sure what kind of information you're basing this on, but I've seen every single game of ManCity in their title season. Johnson didn't play all the time, but he did a whole lot of substitute appearances in which he took on opponents all the time and scored important goals that showed just what kind of class act AJ is. In his last season at MC he featured in 38 games. Even though mostly as a substitute, that still is 38 games.

It's based on facts. Even you openly admit he was mostly used as a substitute. He never got a proper run in the first 11. If you read Johnson's comments about his time at City he says no matter how well he played he would find himself on the bench the next game. Mancini never spoke to him. The only thing he ever said was yes to him leaving, at the first opportunity.

  4. Haha. I suggest him a couple weeks ago and everyone thinks he sucks and is overrated. Now the first rumors are coming through and he's suddenly welcome. You guys.

I disagree. His best games were during ManCity's title season in my opinion. He was an absolute class act, better performer than Milner. I never understood why he let him go to Sunderland.

Adam Johnson is very welcome at EFC! One of my favourite footballers in the world. (in 2011/12 he was even my favourite of all)

Mancini never played him, even when he was ripping teams apart he'd drop him the next game. In the latter of his City career he hardly took anyone on. Mancini totally changed him for the worst. He could have been one of the best wingers in Europe if he'd been given faith.

  5. I don't think he works anywhere near hard enough for the loan striker role at present. His goals let him off the hook from some poor performances.

He complained that he's not a target man and he's being used as one. Unfortunately, when you're playing as a loan striker you need to get in behind and be a target man.

He doesn't win anywhere near enough headers and his hold up play isn't very good.

At 20 he's young and has plenty of time to improve, but if he's not willing to graft he will never become a proper goal machine and I wouldn't pay anymore than £20m for him.

Although I'm not really inspired by the Traore deal this will at least put some pressure on him because Martinez was not willing to go with Jelavic at all. He just didn't fancy him.
