  1. Very evident where we at lacking if late....Up front. Why the fuck aren't we spending the money?

I hope for Christ we aren't saving £20m+ for Lukaku. We need a 25 goal a season striker.

Going to be completely honest here as well. I'm not the biggest fan of McCarthy. He either goes about his game quietly or I just don't think he offers much. I know loads of fans rave about him but for me I'm not convinced yet! I don't know what it is. I just don't see his impact on the team.

  2. Everything looked bright at the start. Now we find ourselves well off the pace and I can't see us catching after the dire performances of late!!

Spurs and Liverpool keep winning both took 3 points of us.

We were in a fantastic position, but now I'm afraid our season is looking to be no better than under Moyes.

Failure to sign a proven goalscorer in January will come back to bite us and only one man to blame for that.

Lukaku is not a Suarez, Sturridge or Adebayor. He's not good enough, those players are carrying their sides with goals!

I'm furious watching these other sides go and turn teams over whilst we now slip. There's only so much you can give in leeway.

We should have strengthened in January. We have the money!

  3. did you see my point that we should've had a freekick for a similar challenge seconds before? Thats inconsistency from the ref which screwed us

Look, Barry and the 2 CBs should've known better but fact is ref made a wrong decision before their freekick and that's the route cause of the goal

"Protect yourself at all times" a boxing quote I know but is relevant to this situation. We fell asleep.

Ultimately I blame Barry! He placed the ball for them and turned his back!!!

  4. Cant believe some people are saying Twatenburg is not to blame for that, he had two big decisions to make and got both wrong

One cost us a goal and the other denied us a penalty , how much more of an impact do you want him to play?

Fair enough we got caught sleeping with the free kick, but you cant just take a free kick from whatever area of the pitch you like

It's up to our players to stand over that ball and not let a quick one get taken our mistake.

  5. how much did we stop our momentum by standing there looking like fish at feeding time? this season goals against us seem to have kicked us up the arse...today we did fuck all with no urgency it seemed after they scored...got what we deserved for not taking our chances

    It needed changing straight away!

Noticed we've been absolutely shite with Barkley on the pitch in the last 3 games aswell. If he's not fully fit. Stop fucking playing him he looks lost!

  6. Everyone focusing on the freekick, more wind 20s earlier to watch Osman pushed off the ball. Where's the difference? Oh yeah, Clattenburg.

I don't like players going down early, I didn't think it was initially, but the replay shows a foot clearly taken, ref 10m away.

Nothing wrong with Clattenburg. The points were lost at that free kick!

  7. thought clattercunt was defiantly a homer but what cost us was shit concentration. What really fucks me off is why we sell jelavic replace him with another fucking loan player we can't afford permanently and have no one who can score a fucking goal. Naismith is shit absolutely unadulterated monkey spunk he does fuck all can't lead the line can't play on the wing or in the hole and when they were discussing selling jelavic (who scored yesterday) someone said don't worry that little blonde scottish cum bucket can fill in. I don't blame martinez I blame Bill cum face Kenright who even through has a chance of top four sells everything not nailed down. 40 mil in 20 out good business Bill you fucking spunk chewing pensioner

To be honest mate. I think it's Martinez who is holding the money back not Bill.

It's always been the same here. Transfer funds made via sales are available to the manager. It's Martinez not Kenwright

  8. Nothing wrong with Clattenburg so sack that off.

The missed opportunities cost us in the first 10minutes.

Barry placed the ball down for "their" free kick and turned his back on it!!!! Allowing walker a quick free kick. Awful from a seasoned pro!!! THAT cost us.

The performance on a whole wasn't bad. But I have serious questions over some of the impact players!

Barkley has been well off the pace since his toe injury. Absolutely awful, looks nothing like the hungry player in the first half of the season.

Pienaar has no legs at all. Getting past him is effortless at times.

Aiden Mcgeady (yes I know he is new) is meant to be a player who goes past people. His cameo role today was that of a shithouse. Expected much more at 1-0 down.

That really is game over for fourth. We are going to drop a lot more points! Cracks are showing!

  9. I can se what Migel is saying to be honest. Stones has not got the attributes to play the role Martinez is asking him to do when he plays at RB

In the derby he was woeful but he wasnt exactly the only player to have a bad night. Martinez got his tactics horribly wrong on the night and as a team we were defending far too high up the pitch especially given the lack of pace we had in the back four

I dont think Roberto is doing him any favours playing him as an attacking RB. He should either change his tactics to accomodate him or get someone in who can do the job he wants from a RB

Spot on. Easy to see. Was meant to give you positive there mate.

  10. Has anyone actually noticed that when we have possession that our full backs bomb on and Barry becomes third centre half? Thats why stones was caught out, because Barry lost the ball.

I can't forvtge life of me understand us having to defend a 19 year old kid who was far from the worst player in the derby.

Joke. Let's just pick on naismith instead eh, not that he deserves it,just to take the heat off a lad who can become world class.

At centre back. Which I've acknowledged umpteen times. He's made some classy performances at centre half.

I never want to see him at RB again though. The amount of times he was in a decent attacking position then opted to pass it backwards wore thin on me. He's was trying to be an attacking outlet but hasn't got the skillet to do it. Not his fault.

  11. If the biggest complaint you have about an 18-year-old backup defender is "he's not good enough in the final third" then that means he's doing a hell of a lot right. Quite frankly, I'd much rather have a backup who does everything right defensively than a backup who makes 2 or 3 nice runs down the flank but then fucks up in his own penalty box. He's proved to be "absolutely terrible" in forward positions... as an 18-year-old. There's only one way for him to learn and get better, and that's by playing.

It has nothing to do with "accepting mediocrity" but instead everything to do with understanding the state of this club and looking through a lens that goes beyond this season. We're not Manchester City. We can't afford (literally) to have a bunch of Micah Richards' and James Milner's fucking around in reserves and getting on the pitch once in a while. Roberto Martinez does not have endless resources and therefore he needs to budget and prioritize. An old, injured Arouna Kone is the only striker under team control starting this summer. The team has two aging CBs and Alcaraz (if he can even get out of bed for matchday without injuring something). In the midfield, you have Barry and Pienaar in the final few years of being able to play at this level and who the hell knows how much longer Gibson can go without breaking down for good. A handful of pressing needs, and you want Martinez to throw money at a guy who will sit behind Seamus Coleman for the next 4-5 years aside from the handful of games he's needed?

Speaking of Coleman, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe he came to Everton immediately guns blazing. It took him some time to develop and grow as a player. Stones is even younger than Coleman was. Maybe Stones isn't the ideal fit right now, but if a few bumps in the road right now means he becomes he's a capable RB in the long run then I say it's well worth it. Certainly more worth it than paying a few million in transfer funds plus whatever the salary cost is for some guy who would play 3-4 games before sitting on the bench the rest of the way. If we get into the CL and get the resulting cash influx then, sure, we can start to bring in some luxury players. For now, Stones is doing just fine defensively at RB when he needs to fill in. It just means that Mirallas and/or McGeady need to step up and bring their A-games on the right side to make up for the missing attack.

Stones is 20 in May. Not 18. Do your homework.

The point is he will never be a RB in a Martinez side. What got my back up about him was people saying he played well. He was absolute shite! in the derby and against Villa.

  12. Get off your high horse about the kid. We all agree he is gonna be a good future CB, but did ok filling in at RB when needed recently.

Good to see those stats too...no doubt a work in progress, but progress is good just now.

My opinion on Stones is he shouldn't be anywhere near considered as our main backup for the RB position. That should be looked at! He proved he is absolutely terrible in forward positions. Considering this side relies on bombing full backs, I think it's a fair enough comment? Don't you?

To raise the issue of his age doesn't sit well for me (that seems to be the defence). Are we in the position of accepting mediocrity in the chase for 4th? He highlighted himself as poor in the opposing half. Passing backwards in advanced positions with our other players bombing into the box and looking for attacking opportunity.

He did ok but hindered our attack. Stick to centre back, as he seems very accomplished there.

  13. Of course you wouldn't, you know Evertons Midfield better than me, but a fulll Brazilian international, a Belgian international , and young lad that since his debut in December has the best passing and tackling stats in the league suggests that our midfield are no slouch's, its other areas that let us down and where you have to exploit

Your midfield is average. No stand out players at Spurs anymore. You've got a couple of big names like Eriksen but other than him I don't fear Spurs anymore. Very misjointed side. I reckon we'll win convincingly.
